Fully equipped and furnished two-bedroom apartment for short- and medium-term rental in the quaint village of Hardwick, Vermont. The rental apartment is in a newly renovated 1895 historic building and has a full kitchen, dining/living area, two bedrooms, and maple floors. Large bay windows offer lots of natural light and lovely views of the Lamoille River. The apartment is only a few steps from local restaurants and the food co-op, which specialize in locally sourced foods.
The rental is within easy driving distance of local ski resorts and near to Stowe, Greensboro, Smugglers Notch, and Montreal. It is also located near hiking trails, including the Appalachian and Long trails, mountain biking and running trails, canoeing and kayaking, cross-country skiing, and lots of good antiquing.
The Village of Hardwick is becoming known as a sustainable food center, and was featured in the book, 'The Town that Food Saved,' by Ben Hewitt. Small food producers, such as the Cellars at Jasper Hill cheeses, Vermont Soy products, Barr Hill distillery, Pete's Greens, High Mowing Seeds, and the Vermont Food Venture Center cluster in and around the town. Hill Farmstead Brewery, named as the 'Best Brewery in the World' for 2013, is in nearby North Greensboro and is open for tastings and filling of growlers.
Michael is an architect, and I am a baker. We have lived in the Hardwick area since the mid-1980’s and take great pride in Hardwick’s growing reputation as a sustainable food center and its renaissance from its days as a supplier of granite for buildings near and far.
We enjoy working in an area that has a mix of people who visit and live in this vibrant downtown community that is easily accessible to Nordic and alpine skiing, bicycling, hiking, canoeing, fishing and hunting.
We have renovated numerous commercial and residential buildings in the area, and our office is conveniently located across the street.
We have recently renovated this circa 1895 property over the past four years. The building is now fully insulated from basement to roof and from wall to wall. The woodwork, windows and the facade have been restored. The building is on the Historic Register. Roof top vacuum tube solar collectors provide heat for the domestic water system.
