Large Flat with Big Rooms, Sleeping Six Plus. 3 Bedrooms, Two Bathrooms, Kitchen

Melville House is a large traditional Georgian flat with period features and big rooms. The flat sleeps six in two king size bedrooms, (one with ensuite shower and toilet) and a twin room. There is a family bathroom with separate shower, a dining kitchen and enormous sitting room with gas fire. There is even a table tennis room. There is central heating, a fridge, freezer and range style cooker for your use.

The bus into Edinburgh city leaves from outside the front door, (numbers 26 and 44), and Musselburgh is close to wonderful beaches and top golf courses.

Tons of room, lots of little extras

We've been in our share of vacation rentals, and we've never seen one this spacious. There were six of us with our four adult sons, and we could have had 2 or 3 more people there with us and not even realized it. :-)

The rental is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the little things like USB power ports in the bedrooms are a great touch. My kids loved the ping pong table; we could barely pry them away to head into Edinburgh. The area has a nice park, some great bridges, restaurants, and stores.

Only one word of warning. If you're not comfortable with stairs, this rental isn't for you. There's a full flight of stairs between the ground and main floors, and another between the main floor and living quarters. It wasn't a problem for us (my wife called it part of our vacation fitness program), but we can see where it could be an issue for others.

Overall, one of the best rental properties we've ever stayed at!

Charming & Perfectly Located

Huge 2 floor flat above a shop, always managed to get parking outside the front even with the back up of free car park literally around the corner.

So much to choose from in Musselburgh itself which is all within walking distance while Fort Kinnaird is literally just down the road. Excellent access to Edinburgh & North Berwick which made for awesome days out. Great property will stay again - only slight negative was the lack of cutlery/utensils especially if eating as a family of 6 but easily redeemable.
