This camp is exactly what you would expect of an upscale camp on the beach side of Grand Isle. Panoramic views of the Gulf and beach 180 degrees from east to west and with the side extended deck you can see north bay area. Making memories with family and friends is endless.


The Fat Crab is a new 2,108 s.f. camp with families in mind and can accommodate 3 or 4 full families. Designed for maximum capacity with 16 queen size beds, Viking kitchen appliances, flat screen TV and panoramic view of the gulf all in comfort of the main level over 13' above ground. Wood floors, Viking appliances, granite counter tops, central AC, ice maker, flat screen TV, DVD and more.

The top rear deck has the best view of the beach, boats, fishing, crabbing and kids enjoying the water. This section of beach does not have a large crowd so you can enjoy your privacy. Hanging out on this covered upper deck on cypress swings is enjoyable to pass the time and view.

DOWNSTAIRS: is where all the boiling, frying and BBQ takes place. Playing and hanging out under this covered area, has cypress swings, tables, chairs, large kitchen sink, toys, games, fully equipment cooking equipment, fish cleaning table, are all at your disposale. A half bath is located downstairs for your convenience.

Large back yard to play games and other activities. Beach access is convenient directly from the back yard. At night, you don't want to miss chasing hermit crabs (touloulou) on the beach, so bring your flash lights, all ages can enjoy this sport. Camp fires on the beach will surely bring up old pirate stories of Jean and Pierre Laffite, Grand Terre, Louis Chighizola (Nez Coupe') and the Battle of New Orleans.

Wonderful Family Time

I cannot express enough how impressed we were with this property. The view and the accommodations were more than expected. We have been coming to Grand Isle since childhood and truly enjoyed making new memories with our grandchildren. We will be back!

This brand new camp on the beach was well thought out by someone who knows how to relax. Kitchen is set up and equipped for a chef. Beautiful Gulf views from large deck with swings. Everything is first rate and spotlessly clean. Huge great room is ideal for large family gatherings.

Wow what a camp

Our family with 2 children under 10 just had a wonderful weekend at this very nice camp. Inside is very clean and "new". Lots of shaded area to let the kids play under the camp. Short walk to the beach. Amazing view of the Gulf of Mexico. Very close to Bridge Side Marina for easy launching of the boat. Highly recommended.

Incredible beachfront rental!

We have rented many beachfront properties thru vrbo over the years and this one is by far the nicest!

The bedrooms are huge and the beds are comfortable- no more sleepless nights on vacation. The kitchen is fully outfitted with high end appliances and there is a grill downstairs for bbqing. We cooked every night and this kitchen was amazing. The living room and front deck are spacious and have incredible views over the beach. Beach access is directly in front of the house adding to the convenience of your stay. This property is gorgeous and worth it for a great stay in Grand Isle.

Girls trip

We had a wonderful time at this camp. The balcony was perfect for early morning risers to have coffee and beautiful view. We plan to stay here again soon!!

Located on Grand Isle, seven square-mile barrier Island on the Gulf Coast in Louisiana.

Once your cross the Caminada/Grand Isle bridge, were 8/10 of a mile on the right(beach side) Beautiful sun rise from back deck to wonderful sun sets off the front side of camp.
