This summer open plan rental villa with large private pool is built in traditional style using local materials, including oak beams. It is very light and airy with large shuttered windows and french doors to let in the warm summer air and provide ample opportunity to admire the lovely views of the surrounding forest hills. Furnishings are very comfortable and of a high standard. The conservatory, which is fully furnished with large sofa, chairs and coffee table is a real bonus in winter or on cool summer nights. The villa's open plan layout is particularly suitable for those who enjoy preparing meals whilst conversing with friends or family. The kitchen is amply equipped and leads to a large BBQ sun deck. About the Villa: This villa is built in traditional style using local features including a large sundeck overlooking the swimming pool. It is very light and airy with large shuttered windows and french doors to let in the warm summer air and admire the lovely views of the surrounding forest hills. Furnishings are very comfortable and of a high standard. Downstairs floors are of traditional tile with several woven rugs to give a cosy atmosphere. The conservatory is furnished with a large four seater sofa, chairs and coffee table . The glass doors on two sides can be fully opened to let in the air in summer. The kitchen is amply equipped and there are place settings for formal or informal dining. Free Wifi , unlimited landline calls across Europe and 2 MP3/IPod sound systems. Towels, sheets and pool towels included. Dart Board, pool table and football game plus other indoor and outdoor games. Two additional patio areas in garden. Full size outdoor table tennis.
About the Garden and Village: The Villa is in a very peaceful setting with a large (1acre) landscaped garden containing many mature trees including oak, fruit, walnut and juniper plus grassed areas that provide quite spots in the sun or shade. There is a stream at the bottom of the garden with a little bridge leading to the drive. There are no fences or hedges - just a lovely open view of the surrounding hills. The pool area is terraced with sunbeds and solar shower and is secured by a lockable fence. The pool and garden is maintained by a local. The village has a meandering river, communal bread oven, ancient washing stone and lovely church. The village festival in August is a must. All our neighbours are french and are friendly and helpful. The traditional local bar/cafe (2.5km) is a must. It has a covered outside eating area by a lovely river which is ideal for pole fishing. Try the home made coque au vin.
Out and About: The attractions in the region are highly recommended, although most visitors seem to enjoy days spent in the garden by the pool, especially when the weather gets hot in high summer.. Cycling is very popular and train travel is accessible. The nearest town with a station is the medieval bastide of Villefranche de Rouergue (8km) which has a good selection of bars, hotels, restaurants, tourist information, traditional shops, boutiques and wine merchants.. There are several large supermarkets on the outskirts - HyperU is only 10 mins drive away from the villa. Roads leading to the villa from Rodez via Villfranche de Rouergue are well maintained and pretty level so your journey will be much shorter than those harder to reach destinations within more hilly areas. The nearest shops and bars are in Monteils (2.5km) which is accessed via a level road on foot, car or bike. There is also a good pony trekking club in Monteils and a farmers table to sample traditional fois gras

We came across the villa by chance and fell in love with it straight away owing to the fabulous location.
Our guests all agree that the surroundings are very peaceful and quiet. The scenery is beautiful and the area is very safe and secure.
And thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful French home. We had a wonderful time, I don't think I have ever stayed in a more beautiful setting! The house itself was fantastic, so well equipped and perfect for our family. And as for the gardens and the views well they were just amazing, and we all loved the pool, which we made use of every single day. And the children loved the games room and we also all loved playing table tennis every day (no one could beat me!!). The area was also new to us and we all totally fell in love with it. The only thing missing (unless we just didn't see it) was a guest book so we could write in what a lovely time we had!
PIcked this villa almost at random off the site and are so glad we chose it. Sounds a cliché but the photos really don't sum up the space and room this villa has.
We went with four adults and three children from 8 to 14, first big plus was directions you can follow and lead you to the door - always a bonus. Warm welcome by the rep on-site who was very knowledgeable. House large , spacious v clean but never felt like you couldn't relax in it and best of all there are spaces all over the very large site where everyone can "get away from it" - be it the hammock, round the side or the other end of the garden.
Pool large and v popular with all. Kitchen excellently kitted out, probably one of the best we have used on a holiday
Local area is spectacular, particularly enjoyed Najac, Canoeing at St Antonin and for a further drive Belcastel is beautiful.
Any down sides , If I'm being very picky there would be a small baker / shop in the village but then there's one just 2Km down the road in Monteils, the Hammock was on its last legs but is being replaced and the upstairs can get very hot - maybe benefit from a couple of fans for us unacclimatised Brits who find ourselves unexpectedly in 35 degrees and struggling with it.
Final plus - the deposit comes back within a few days and no quibbles - excellent service.
A lovely and very well equipped villa in a fabulous tranquil setting. Clean and well-maintained. We were lucky with the weather and were able to spend much time relaxing on the decking and in the pool, which is quite deep throughout (approx 5 feet) but not a problem for our teenagers. The games room was also excellent and with darts, table tennis, table football and pool table there was plenty to keep us occupied on the few days of rain.
The local area is beautiful with plenty to see and do. We particularly enjoyed exploring the medieval bastide villages of Najac and Belcastel, and visiting the markets at St Antonin and Villefranche. There is also an excellent activity centre close by in Najac where we hired bikes and canoed on the river.

La Fontaine is a beautiful villa set in a large garden in a tranquil area with nature all around. The house is homely and very well equipped. We did a lot of cooking for a family of five and had everything we needed. Even kids plates and cups, perfect for us with three relatively small children (age 6, 4 and 2).
Very hot July days were of course mostly spent outdoors, and there was plenty of space for everybody. A large terrace for outdoor eating, a shaded area with hammocks and also possibility for a meal whenever we wanted a change from the terrace. Lots of grassy areas for the kids to explore. And then the pool! Uncommonly (to our experience) deep - from 1,5 meters to more than 2 at the deepest. We all had great fun jumping and diving and playing around with pool toys already in place for our use. The fence made life easier for us bringing small children and of course also protects any local wildlife.
Except kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and living room, there is also a large game room with foosball, small pool table and and extra fridge/freezer in addition to the one in the kitchen.
The area is very tranquil and beautiful, forest hills, small villages and very friendly locals. Close by stunning medieval villages like Najac, Belcastel and Corde sur Ciel.
15 min drive to a large Leclerc supermarket through the nearest village of some size (Villefranche de Rouergue).
The estate is well maintained and the on site caretakers were extremely kind and helpful.

We were all over the moon to find out on arrival how lovely this villa and its location is. The villa is very well equipped and clean and really felt like home from home but with the added benefits of the weather, views and swimming pool which got plenty of use.
There are plenty of small and interesting towns within 10 miles of the property to explore with some great restaurants and friendly people.
We all went kayaking at Viellevie on the river Lot which was great fun and well worth trying if your adventurous and dont mind the 1.5 hour drive.
The pool table got a fair bit of use, great having a games room.

This villa is amazing. The location/views are exceptional as are the facilities, from the well equipped kitchen and games room, to the library of books to read this villa really does have everything you need. Staying with two children (one three year old) it was fantastic to have the pool area fenced off, they could run around the ample gardens without us worrying they would fall into the pool. Also great not to have a pool alarm going off in the middle of the night! We had a wonderful holiday in your lovely villa and I would highly recommend it to anyone reading this. The plums are also delicious!
This is a fantastic place to stay with great facilities, situated in a quiet and pretty village (Floirac) in the countryside. A great place to 'get away from it all'.
The villa is very spacious with doors that open out to the gardens. The barbecue on the terrace was excellent and we spent many evenings relaxing there. The swimming pool is a good size, but could benefit with an extra umbrella (as there were 7 people in our party).
It was very relaxing just walking around the gardens watching the wildlife, especially the blackbirds which were nesting outside the window at the back of the property. We even saw a red squirrel.
We would definitely recommend this property, especially for families or groups of friends.
Beautiful, accessible, location steeped in history, abounding with Chateaux, Cathedrals, forests, rivers and Castles. Famous Bastide towns are close by. Najac, appointed one of the most beautiful villages in France is just 11km away. Other famous medieval bastide towns are are close by ie the 'not to miss' market town of Villefranche de Rouergue is just 8km away. Wine, dine and dance at village fetes throughout the area in high season. Visit local historic vineyards in Gaillac, Marcillac or Languedoc Rousellion or sample traditional fois gras at a local farm (3km) Alternatively, relax by the meandering rivers in the valleys or roam the forests on your doorstep. Ski resort is just 1.5 hours drive away. Travel by scenic train to Toulouse (1hr 20 mins) for shopping, lunch and museums.
