Our home sets on a bluff overlooking the Grand River Arm of Truman Lake. Experience beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Less than ten minutes from Long Shoal Marina. Small boat ramp in neighborhood. This home features a master bedroom with adjoining master bath, a second bedroom and a finished sleeping porch that sleeps four. Brand new hardwood and tile floors. Washer and dryer. Sit outside and enjoy incredible lake view. (Watch the Bald Eagles flying along the bluffs.) Gas barbecue grill.
As a young my grandfather took me along as he fished on the Osage River (now part of Truman Lake). My other grandparents owned a farm that is now below the lake- many relatives still call Benton County home. My brothers and I water skied on Truman Lake before any marinas were opened. Eight years ago, my wife and I purchased a boat so that we could teach our children the joy of playing, especially water skiing, on this awesome family oriented lake. We live in Kansas City but we keep a boat at Long Shoal Marina and spend many weekends in the spring, summer and fall out on the lake waterskiing, tubing and fishing. We purchased this house in 2014 and completely remodeled the interior. My wife Jennifer, a HGTV addict, put her heart and soul into modernizing this home. Personally, I love the old sleeping porch. It has windows all around, two trundled beds and is insulated with both electric heating and air conditioning. Be prepared to watch a beautiful sunrise and sunset. We have experienced sunsets from Key West to Hawaii-I will take our view over any of those. My wife and I both own our own businesses but our favorite hobby is being out on the lake.
Don & Jennifer Hubbs purchased this house in 2014
Bring your wife here to escape the noise and crowds in the city. The sunsets and stars are awesome. You will almost always see a bald eagle or two, year round from our deck.
Close to several of the lake marinas, yet we are on a quiet part of the lake. Best view within 500 miles of Kansas City and St. Louis.
We loved our stay! The view of the lake is beautiful and we felt very at home in the coziness of the cabin. Very nicely decorated, great beds and loved the soft towels! Having a washer and dryer was nice for washing our swim suits and beach towels at the end of the day. It was a very warm weekend outside but stayed plenty cool when we came in and was impressed with the air temp on the sleeping porch! We saw deer every day and even had an eagle fly over one morning! Had the BEST fishing experience EVER!!! Will definitely try to stay here again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay. The home is immaculate with beautiful touches--many large windows, a magazine-quality master bath, a skylight, and excellent linens and mattresses. We divided our time between lounging on the sunny deck, reading in the living room, and watching a little late-night TV on the sleeping porch. The kitchen was pleasant to cook in, with windows that view full birdfeeders with constant visitors. The view from the house must be one of the best on Truman Lake. We enjoyed bird- and boat-watching with the binoculars on the mantle. We walked around the neighborhood, down to the boat launch and around the bay. At the state park, we walked trails and explored the beach.
Don and Jennifer,
We had an amazing time at your home this last weekend! First of all your home is beautiful and so neatly decorated! The home was very clean. It was so nice to be able to cook family meals together. I did ask my family what their favorite part of the lake home was and most of them said the SUNSET! Breathtaking to say the least, the weather was perfect that we spent a lot of time on the deck. My favorite part was having all my family in one place to enjoy the weekend! I did catch my son on the hammock taking a little rest, my husband spent a lot of time just looking at the water. I would highly recommending your home to anyone and we will plan on booking this home again in the near future!
Thank you again from the Kuszak's!
Loved this home. Did not want to leave when our 3 nights were up. Quiet, off the beaten path, right in the middle of anything you might need. The view is spectacular. The hammock was a very quiet and relaxing spot to unwind. We even tried the sleeping porch - highly recommend. Sunset and stargazing were also spectacular. Both queen beds were very comfortable and the master bath is beautiful. We saw many turkeys, a turtle, 1 or 2 (maybe the same?) bald eagle, a few deer and on our last morning a fox. We recommend this home to anyone heading to the area, you won't be disappointed.
Warsaw downtown is booming with antique shops and restaurants. There's also a grocery store and even a Walmart in town.
Loved the property and the view was spectacular. We had a very relaxing family vacation and loved the lake too. It was not crowded and the marina is very close. I would love to go back again.
Our blended family of 6 enjoyed this amazing lake home for 5 days and had a wonderful experience! We arrived to an immaculate cabin that is tastefully decorated and makes you feel at home the moment you set your bags down!
Our 4 insisted on sleeping on the unique sleeping porch and had the best time! Once settled, I took note of the basics that were there and then ran to the Clinton Walmart (sans kids)...they explored the swimming/fishing ponds and explored the neighborhood...the hammock was a hit with my husband all week! We rented a pontoon boat from Bucksaw (very nice owners)...although it was a very old boat, we had a good time on the lake and pretty much we were the only boat around! Long shoal Marina is a quick easy dinner and we ate out once...other than that, we enjoyed the deck and grilled! We did spot about 3 Bald Eagles and that was amazing as well! Thanks for a great quick get away from KC!
The nearest town is Tightwad, Missouri…population 63.... For years, UMB bank had a bank in Tightwad (somewhat out in the middle of no where). Legend has it that UMB CEO, Crosby Kemper, bought the bank just so that he could have checks with a home address of Tightwad. Donna's Dinner, about 3 miles North of Tightwad, serves the best homemade pie in Benton Country. Long Shoal Marina, about 10 minutes away, has a nice dockside dining deck.
