An Dyji, 2 Seaview Cottages in Portmellon has undergone a unique transformation turning it into a stunning holiday home just perfect for couples. Situated directly by the sea in the quiet cove of Portmellon this bijou cottage has everything you could need for a relaxing getaway. Superbly modernised with a fantastic power shower and fully equipped kitchen plus comfy lounge. 'Upside down' accommodation maximises the sea views. This tiny cottage is a real gem in the most beautiful location.
Portmellon is a great base for exploring cornwall being right on the coastal path and within easy driving distance of many of the county's best attractions. Portmellon itself is a quiet cove with a tidal beach and one pub. Nearby is the fishing village of Mevagissey which offers a wealth of places to eat and drink and shop.
The cottage has recently undergone a full modernisation, restoring the original stone walls and turning the accommodation "upside down" to make the most of the views. Downstairs is a compact bedroom with a double bed and a beautiful walk in wet room shower. Fully tiled flooring with underfloor heating. Double doors to the bathroom , one each side of the bed, mean that despite its compact bedroom size there is easy access to the bathroom - no climbing over each other !
A stunning oak and steel staircase leads to the upper level lounge and kitchen dining. Further restored stone walls showcases the buildings history complimented by a modern style glass banister. The lounge and kitchen are compact but very comfortable and the fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to self cater. Oak flooring with underfloor heating ensures you will be warm and cosy.
The ceiling height is low as you would expect in an old fishermans cottage and the house is compact - think small hotel suite with the added benefit of modern cooking facilities.
Outside the views are amazing and there is a high bistro table and chairs to sit at and enjoy the views . The front patio area is a shared walkway to the other cottages ion the terrace but you have your own little table and space to enjoy the sea view.
An Dyji is a cornish name meaning "Tiny Cottage" which is very appropriate, but whilst An Dyji is indeed small, we think it is perfectly for two people wanting a luxury bolt hole .
