A wonderfully spacious one bedroom ground floor apartment with garden views

The Muntham Apartments are located in the leafy Wellswood area of Torquay. This desirable residential district is just a five minute drive from the harbour and town centre so guests have the benefit of a tranquil haven without being too far away from all that The English Rivera has to offer. Extremely good bus services (accessed from bus stops just a five minute walk from the apartments) and plentiful and comparatively inexpensive taxis also mean that visitors never have to be dependent on their car during a stay.

Wellswood has the added benefit of a discernible centre in the form of Ilsham Road. Locally known as "Wellswood Village" this area has a fantastic pub, wine bar, restaurants, cafes, beauty salons, delicatessen, patisserie and much much more. It is only a five minute walk from the apartments. Just a short walk beyond this shopping area are the World famous Kent's Cavern where evidence of the earliest human life in northern Europe has been found.

The Muntham Apartments are housed in an elegant Victorian villa built for a 19th century Member of Parliament and it later passed into the hands of a man who was the Lord Chief Justice of Calcutta. He named the building Muntham as it was supposedly the Hindi word for Gentle Breeze. Today Muntham retains much of its original charm and has a grand staircase sure to impress. Beautiful mature gardens of nearly an acre surround the building.

This beautiful one bedroom apartment has a fabulous sitting room with large floor to ceiling windows that overlook the Rose Garden at the side of the property. Original art work adorns the walls and there is a table and chairs so guests can have a meal whilst enjoying the delights of the garden and its natural visitors. Alternatively, it can be used as work space by guests on business. There is a sofa and arm chair so that guests can relax in comfort and the room features a DAB radio as well as a TV with built in DVD player. During their stay, guests are welcome to use DVDs from the owners' own collection.

The apartment has a bedroom with a luxury pocket sprung king sized bed and it too has large windows overlooking the gardens. All bedding and towels are included in the rate and for guests staying for more than seven nights we offer a complimentary bedding and towel change as well as light clean.The apartment also benefits from a bathroom which was completely refitted in 2017. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over. We supply guests with a complimentary welcome pack of toiletries.

There is also a newly refitted, well equipped kitchen with an eye level cooker, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker and fridge/freezer. We supply guests with a complimentary welcome pack of teas, coffees, milk etc.

We are also delighted to welcome well behaved pets in this apartment. The charge is £20 per animal per visit and we do limit the number of animals to two. The charge should be paid at the apartment upon arrival.

Guests also have use of the communal laundry room located at garden level. As well as washers, there are also dryers (these are coin operated) complimentary detergent is supplied. There are also ironing facilities here too.

Guests have the benefit of free high speed wifi from the UK's top provider (Zen). There is parking for all guests in our own car park which is covered by night time lighting and CCTV.
