The living room has a leather pull-out sofa that opens to a full sized bed, which sleeps two. We have a large coffee table in the room, as well. The sunken family room features a unique slate floor and a granite topped bar. You will find a reclining leather sofa, love seat and chair set, as well as two cushioned wicker chairs. There are two round end tables, and there is a large coffee table. There is a 48 inch flat screen television. There is a Bluray player hooked up to this television. This room has a wall of sliding glass doors that provide a stunning view of the waterfront of the home.
The kitchen is unique in its design and has lots of granite topped counter space and room to work for those who enjoy cooking. There are double ovens for your group and five burners on the stove. We provide you with plenty of cookware, dishes, glasses and silverware. In addition, you will have a 4-slice toaster, blender, coffee maker, tea kettle, hand mixer, Belgian waffle maker, turkey roasting pan, and lots of other items for food preparation.
In the dining nook, there is seating around the bar table for four, and more seating for 3 at the bar. In addition, there is seating for 2 at the family room bar.
The home features 5 comfortable bedrooms. All of the bedrooms have lovely tile floors. Four are found off of the hallway behind the family room and living room areas. To the left off of the hallway is a master bedroom with king sized bed, high dresser, another dresser, ceiling fan and a 40" flat screen television. It has a large closet. This bedroom has a blue and white tiled bathroom with shower/tub combo. The bedroom window opens to the lanai and has views of the water. The exterior door from the bedroom conveniently exits out onto the screened pool patio.
In the center of the hallway is the oak bedroom with a queen sized bed, high dresser, 32" flat screen television, closet and ceiling fan. This room overlooks the pool. There is a bathroom directly across from this bedroom that has a shower/tub combo.
To the right of the hallway is the 2 bedroom family suite. The first bedroom features a lovely queen sized bed, nightstand and high dresser with a 32" flat screen television. It is attached to a bathroom with shower/tub combo. This room is facing the front area of the house and also has a large closet and ceiling fan. Attached to this bedroom is another bedroom. There is a slatted door between the two bedrooms. This setup is especially nice for families with children. The back bedroom has a very large window overlooking the pool, and an exterior door that goes out onto the screened pool patio. There is a queen sized bed, large dresser, nightstand, and 32" flatscreen television in this room. This room has a large walk-in closet.
The enormous fifth bedroom is found upstairs. It is on the opposite side of the house and is a very quiet and private retreat! This room is around 500 square feet and has cool to the touch tile floors. In this room is a king sized bed, 2 nightstands and large dresser with mirror. There is also an incredibly comfortable chaise lounge that is perfect for reading a book. A large leather sofa that seats four is in front of the 40" television, along with a coffee table. It's a perfect spot for a family or the kids to watch their favorite program in peace. A small balcony is at the front of the room, over the front of the house. The bathroom has a shower/tub combo. There is a large walk-in closet. A window in the back of this room overlooks the water.
The house has a very large garage where the laundry setup (washer and dryer) is found. We have several beach chairs. Since rafts can get torn, and toys disappear or get forgotten at the beach, we do not advertise that we provide them. However, various guests often add them during the season, and we leave them there for future guests. In the garage you will find three adult sized bikes. There are beach towels in the house for each guest. You will find a gas grill outside of the garage, near the waterfront.
Although we love the interior of this house, the exterior is what we absolutely adore! The pool is on the other side of the downstairs bedrooms. It is screened and has foliage along the side for privacy. Rather than sharing your pool with a bevy of hotel guests, you get the entire crystal clear pool to yourself. It measures around 20 x 40 feet. In addition, there is a very large hot tub attached to the pool. The pool area has pavers and there are four chaise lounges, along with four chairs, and a loveseat so guests have a spot to relax. There are also several small tables to set beverages or snacks. The pool is heated using an electric heater, and the hot tub can be turned on and off using a tablet provided specifically for that purpose. We place a solar heater, along with the reel at the edge of the pool during the months when the weather is cooler at night. That way, guests can cover the pool in the evenings if they wish for the pool to retain the heat from the day.
Our lanai is the spot where we really enjoy relaxing. It is immediately behind the family room and kitchen along the back of the house. The lanai is completely tiled, and has sliding doors between it and the house. There are fixed and slider windows facing the waterfront. There are three entrances into the lanai from the exterior. One is off of the pool, another is off of the area leading to the dock and the final is off of the patio. There is dining seating here for at least 12 people. In addition, there are two huge lounge chairs that will seat two apiece, as well as an additional chair with ottoman. It's a fabulous place to read, visit, enjoy the breeze, or play board games. Opening up the windows and running the fans when you are out there really helps to keep that area cool. It is especially nice during the winter time, especially when you can open up the sliders to cool off the rest of the house with fresh ocean air. This area is completely enclosed on the sides, but does have screen between the roof and walls, so it is not air conditioned.
A beautiful travertine paver front porch was recently added. There are six white adirondack chairs on the front porch. In addition, we have an 80' long paver sundeck along the waterfront. Here you will find adirondack chairs, chaise lounges, and small tables. This is an incredible and very unique space at our home, provided for the enjoyment of our guests.
It is our hope that our visitors will really enjoy all that our home has to offer for their special getaway.
We both grew up in Ohio. My husband graduated from college in Virginia, and I graduated from a private college in Ohio. Due to my husband's extensive educational opportunities, and his career path, we have had the opportunity to live in many different parts of the country. After nineteen years of marriage, we live with our children in Florida. Due to both of our work situations, we are settled in Florida for good! We enjoy travelling, love visiting the beaches that are located in our surrounding area, take lots of walks and runs during our beautiful weather, and like spending a lot of time together.
Teressa purchased this house in 2014
Our family was transferred to the central Florida area several years ago. Soon after moving to Florida, we stayed in a friend's house on Marco Island. We had visited the island before, but never experienced actually staying there. During our stay, we fell in love with Marco Island. Fishing from South Beach was such an incredible experience for our family. Our children loved going to the beach, and we liked the pace of the island. The sunsets here in Marco are absolutely beautiful!
Ever since that trip, we dreamed of owning a vacation home on the island. We had been looking at houses since that visit. We had an experience that allowed us to purchase a home on the island. After looking at many home listings, we found ourselves coming back to this one. There was something special about it. On our first visit, we were so surprised at the spaciousness and the good feel of the home. The pictures in the listing just did not do it justice! When we met the sellers, we learned that they were actually from our home town, so it was a really neat coincidence. This home was owned by one family from the time it was built. The original owner passed it down to family members, and so we feel very fortunate to be the second family owning this very unique home.
There are so many great things about this house. We all love to play in the pool. You can spend hours out there swimming, or sit and read and visit. We all really enjoy the hot tub. Its location makes it very comfortable and the screened porch keeps critters away, even at night. The pool area allows you to have privacy and plenty of space for swimming.
The dock is a favorite place of my husband's. He has always enjoyed fishing, and has caught several fish from there since we purchased the house. When our outdoor enthusiast relatives visit, they rent kayaks and paddle them from the Isle of Capri to our house. The children all get to take turns with adults in the kayaks and have a great time going through the canals. Now, THAT is a unique way to see the island! Sunrise views from the dock are full of color and beauty.
The 155 feet of waterfront is a real plus, as well. It's rather unusual to have that much space along the water, but the layout of this property allows that special aspect. The 80 foot long sundeck along the water is quite unique. We have only seen a couple of these types of decks in pictures from other homes on the island.
The lanai area is spectacular. It is a huge area that can be kept dry with the new sliding windows we put in, and can also be opened to allow in the fresh Florida air. You will spend a lot of time on the lanai.
While our home is large, it has a unique layout. It is definitely not a cookie cutter type home. You will not find another property on the island like this one!
We had a wonderful time with our family in your spacious home. Enjoyed Thanksgiving with extended family in Naples. We all truly enjoyed our two week stay. Kids especially loved the pool.
My wife and I, along with our three married children, two baby grandchildren and grandmother celebrated a wonderful Christmas week on Marco Island. This home was a perfect location and layout for our large group. The kitchen is well appointed for large groups, the pool and hot tub were a hit with the adults, and each couple having their own bedroom was fantastic. The multiple common area's in the house allowed groups to congregate and catch-up in a relaxed environment. While we have visited Florida multiple times this was our first stay on Marco Island. We enjoyed the many restaurants, as well as South Beach and Tiger Tail Beach and definitely plan on visiting again soon.
We had 6 adults and 6 kids and had plenty of room. This house was perfect for our group. Kitchen has everything you need to cook and plenty of seating for all. The pool was great. Spent a lot of time there and kids loved it. The location is close to everything and house was large enough where you had your own space. You can walk to star bucks and on a quit neighborhood without any road traffic noise. Great place to stay! Only thing I would change is you can only have the AC down to 72 at night. I love it cold when I sleep (usually 68) but they had plenty of fans.
We were able to gather all of our grown children, their significant others, and our grandchildren for a wonderful vacation in beautiful Marco Island. We could not have asked for a better home to compliment our long anticipated family vacation! All of us had our own comfortable room for privacy, while the rest of this lovely home provided a great space and atmosphere for family fun! The pool/hot tub was fabulous and enjoyed for many hours a day! The Lanai was so peaceful with it's water views, and the layout of the home was very accommodating for our large group. We bar-b-qued, enjoyed local restaurants, saw the sites, and explored the island beaches. Thanks to Theresa and her husband for offering such a wonderful, clean and well stocked home! From the kitchen appliances, to the supply of pool toys, we wanted for nothing! We will recommend it often and we will definitely return!
This was the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. My husband and I enjoyed this beautifully decorated home for a week last June. While we found the location to be conveniently located near the beach and other attractions, we also appreciated serenity of a quiet neighborhood. My favorite part of this home was the unobstructed water views, sitting on the lanai watching for manatee and dolphins. We look forward to planning our next trip down to Marco Island.
We stayed at this rental with extended family and had a wonderful time! The home is beautifully decorated and had tons of space for all 12 of us. The home, including the kitchen, was equipped with everything we needed. Our kids loved the pool and the adults loved the hot tub. My kids also enjoyed fishing right off the back dock. The location of the home is super close to the public beach which was very convenient. This is a perfect home and we will definitely return soon!
This home is located in a nice, established neighborhood at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. It is one mile from the top of the Jolley Bridge, which stretches over stunning Barfield Bay. The views at the bridge at sunrise and sunset are beautiful. There are a couple of very small sandy beach areas beneath the bridge where locals go to fish in the bay. The Esplanade, a very nice shopping area with plenty of popular eateries, is just a mile away from the house. The house is 2 miles from Tigertail Beach, which is great for shelling and bird watching, as well as relaxation on the quiet beach. This is a great spot for paddle boarding. It is approximately 4 miles from South Beach, which has excellent fishing off of the jetty and is a great place for sunning, playing games on the sand and swimming in the water. The Rookery Bay Reserve is just a few miles away and there are places for kayak and paddle board rentals. It's really fun to take them through the canals, if you are the outdoors type. Naples is only a short drive away and has wonderful restaurants, shopping and cultural activities. Our children enjoy visiting the Naples zoo, as well. The Naples Pier at sunset is a must-see for those who visit here!
