About the property

Amazing view!!! It has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room and dinning

It is a brand new apartment (120 square meters) with amazing view. It is located in a central road of Athens, which can be reached by metro (Acropolis Station), Bus, Tram or Taxi. It is 3 minutes walking distance from the museum of Acropolis (and metro station Acropolis), 5 minutes walking distance from Acropolis and Parthenon, 5 minutes walking distance from Syntagma square where the Parliament and the National Garden are and 3 minutes walking distance from Zappion and the Panathenaic Stadium (where the classic Marathon ends).

It is fully renovated. It has 2 bedrooms with a king size bed each and big closets, 1 bathroom (with shower), 1 WC, hair dryer, laundry, a fully equipped kitchen with oven, fridge, toaster, squeezer, coffee machine, vacuum cleaner, a dining room where you can have lunch or drink your coffee enjoying the view and a spacious living room with a TV 49 inch and 2 balconies. There is internet connection (Wifi), air conditioning , heating, hot water (all day) and security door. In the building there is an elevator, which takes you to the 3rd and last floor where the apartment is. It is fully furnished, with two double king size beds (1.80m. width, 2.00 m. length), two comfortable couches in the living room and one big dining table for six persons, which can also be used as a desk. All spaces have big windows from which the sunlight comes in and illuminates the apartment. It is a luxurious, cozy and spacious apartment with all necessary comforts to enjoy a relaxed and delightful stay. The apartment is located in Plaka, which is the old historical neighborhood of Athens, around the northern and eastern slopes of the Acropolis, with labyrinthine streets and neoclassical architecture. Plaka is built on top of the residential areas of the ancient town of Athens. It is known as the "Neighborhood of the Gods" due to its proximity to the Acropolis and its many archaeological sites. It has also many restaurants where you can taste the traditional greek food, as well as bars, cafes and shops. Very close to Plaka there is a picturesque area called Anafiotika. On the other side, 5 minutes walking distance there is another Athenian neighborhood called Koukaki where you can find many small cafes, bars and bistros. Furthermore, near the apartment there are two mini markets, one grocery store, a pharmacy, pastry shops and meat market, as well as restaurants and shops. An informational leaflet with all exact locations and maps will be provided upon your arrival.

Many Athens centre nightlife hotspots (such as Plaka, Thisseion, Monastiraki, Psyrri, Gkazi and Kolonaki) can be directly reached by foot, Metro or bus and trolley.

There's also a bus station, which can transfer you to the southern suburbs of Athens, such as Glyfada Voula and vouliagmeni ,where there are organised beaches to enjoy the sea and the sun.

About ΤΙΝΑ LIVA

My name is Tina Liva and i am a mother of two wonderful children.I was born in Athens and as a child i lived in this area of Athens since 18 years old, that's why i love it.Now i live in the suburbs.I studied economics but i am not working.I have a few properties from my family and i love to renovate them, decorate them and rent them or live in some of them. I love my country because of the sun, the sea and its culture and history and i hope you'll love it too !!!

ΤΙΝΑ LIVA purchased this apartment in 2016

Why ΤΙΝΑ LIVA chose Plaka

i love this property because it is in the old neighborhood of Athens,Plaka, under the Acropolis. It has a breathtaking view to Hadrian Arch, the Temple of Zeus and Acropolis. It is a romantic area of Athens because of the old buildings, the ancient ruins between them and the narrow streets. It is very nice to walk in these streets of old Athens and have a coffee or a drink or eat at the small taverns and restaurants and taste the traditional greek cuisine.I recommend it to you and i wish you a pleasant stay in Athens!!!!

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is located in the historical centre of Athens so it is very close to all museums and temples .It is 5 minutes from the Acropolis museum, 5 minutes from the panathenaic stadium,10 minutes from Syntagma square where is our parliament and shopping area and all are walking distance from the house. All transportation means also pass from the house, such as busses, metro, tram, troley and the two flours bus that takes tourists all around Athens and also to the beaches which are half hour away from Athens where you can enjoy the sea and the sun !!!

Incredible stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was an awesome place! Very clean and Tina was an incredible host. She met us upon our arrival and explained everything to us. This place is very safe! Not that you really need it. Anything you wanted she was at your disposable. My husband suffered from incredible back pain and she was willing to contact a doctor to get him some relief..She checked on us to make sure we were all ok. This apartment was in the best location..The view of Hadrians Arch and the Temple of Zeus in the front and the Acropolis in the back.Tina arranged taxis to and from the airport as well. When we come back I will be staying here again for sure!

Excellent location

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful property. We were able to walk to all the major attractions and two metro stops are near by. The apartment was clean, had great views, and was well-appointed. The photos are accurate representations. The owner was there when we arrived, answered all our questions, and arranged for us to be picked-up at the airport.

Light sleepers may have a problem in that the apartment is on a busy road and there is a lot of noise. We were so tired from traveling and site seeing that it wasn't a problem. I would highly recommend it.

Wonderful apartment so close to Acropolis

  • 5 of 5

If anything, the pictures do not do it justice. Beautiful modern apartment. Hadrian's gate is directly across the street. The walk up to the Acropolis and Museum is just a few short blocks. (Of course the Acropolis is a bit of a climb.)

It is a busy street but we had no problems. Hailing cabs was easy. The apartment is in good condition. No problems with WiFi. Washer only (as per most of Europe) so prepare to air dry items.

Could have used one more blanket for the beds--but they were comfortable. Lots of storage space for clothes. etc.

Communication with Tina was excellent. She offered to arrange cab to pick us up at airport with driver she trusts. We took her up on it and all went very smoothly.

Highly recomended!

Beautiful Athens Apartment with Stunning Views and Fantastic Location in the Heart of Praka

  • 5 of 5

This apartment went way above and beyond our expectations. Very tastefully designed and well appointed with 2 good sized bedrooms (both with king beds), 2 bathrooms, and a roomy living area complete with kitchen. It seems hard to imagine that you could find a place in such a great location with such amazing views - "The Temple of Zeus" just outside the front balcony and a clear view to the Parthenon and Acropolis from the large back window and side balcony.

This owner pays close attention to details and everything was spotless and in pristine condition.

Tina the owner - will greet you cordially and give you all the information you need and want on the apartment and surrounding Plaka area with its many sights and restaurants and tourist shops. If you haven't been to Athens yet ..... the Plaka area is really where you want to stay and from where the majority of the sights you want to see are all within walking distance. (In fact the Rick Steves walking tour of Ancient Athens starts just a few blocks from Tina's apartment and I highly recommend downloading this tour and go on it when in Athens - 2-4hrs depending on pace).

Now, yes there is obviously some road noise as some other reviewers have said .... but this is not a rural olive grove. Athens is a big city and if your used to the city then the humming road noise will not be a concern (actually I personally was a bit concerned about this but turned out to be no problem).

We sat out on the balcony every evening and very much enjoyed the hubbub of this ancient city right beneath us. All of us slept well every night (Thanks in part to the good double glazed windows which kept out most of the road noise ... and the quality AC in each room).

One last thing .... on your arrival if by airport or sea .... Tina will recommend for you her personal cab driver - Yannis. He is an absolute must take .... possibly the best cab driver we've ever had in all our travels. Yannis is polite ... a good and safe driver who knows exactly where everything is .... a very "fare" price (as opposed to a lot the drivers who will rip you off if they see you are a tourist) .... and best of all Yannis is a wealth of extremely helpful information about Athens.

Thank-you Tina for opening your place to us .... we loved it. Hopefully we can come back some day.

Home Away From Home In Athens

  • 5 of 5

Our two week, first-time trip to Greece ended with five days in Athens and we were eager to transition from hotel living to an apartment to be able to relax and settle in. This property lived up to every expectation in design, space, cleanliness, and location. Tina - its owner - was on site to greet us, introduce us to the apartment and Athens alike. And she showed great patience as our boat from Santorini was overly late and we kept her waiting.

Views of Hadrian's Arch and the Temple of Zues from the front and the "Rock" and Parthenon from the back - what more can you ask for to remind you that you are in Athens and the cradle of modern day civilization.

A final note, we live in the thick of NYC. Athens is a city as well and there is street noise. But this did not bother us the least and we used the front balcony on several occasions to enjoy drinks.

Thank you HomeAway, Athens, Tina. We will be back!

Awesome location, wonderful apartment

  • 5 of 5

Tina’s apartment was amazing! Like the description states, it is walking distance to many major attractions and lots of restaurants. The views from the apartment were also great- we never got tired of seeing the acropolis, Hadrian’s Arch and the Temple of Zeus! The apartment itself was very comfortable for my family and having a kitchen was also very convenient. Tina was very helpful in getting us situated in the apartment, and arranging for the taxi driver (who was also great- very friendly and knowledgeable) and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to Athens, and I will definitely rent this place again the next time I come back!
