About Margo Barnard

We enjoy our time in Tarpon Springs playing tennis, running on the bayou, kayaking and exploring the variety of restaurants. Because of the nature of our work we travel between Tarpon Springs and Southern California.

We wanted to share the loveliness of the area with other visitors.

Margo Barnard purchased this house in 2012

Why Margo Barnard chose Clearwater Area

The authenticity of the home is charming. It's has many original features from when the house was built 100 years ago, but updated to make it a comfortable place for vacationing.

What makes this house unique

We love the proximity to the bayou. It's a relaxing environment that is also perfect for recreational activities. The neighborhood is quiet.

Came to watch some spring training baseball.

Just finished a week with two old friends. Great location, with walking distance to see the manatees and some great restaurants and a short drive to the sponge docks. House has great character and plenty of room to spread out. . Very private yard around the pool with a great screened in porch.. Well equipped kitchen. I saw in a review some concern over other tenants on the property. If we weren't told they were there we wouldn't know that they existed, don't pay attention to that review. . Great location for easy access to Clearwater, Dunedin or St. petes and a couple golf courses. Only slight downside would be the futon in the 3rd bedroom/office. It was fine but a futon is never as comfortable as a bed. Would certainly come back if vacationing in this area again. Highly recommended.

6 weeks in beautiful Tarpon Springs!

  • 4 of 5

Lovely older craftsman home near the beautiful bayou. Kitchen was fully equipped if you enjoy cooking, family room couch and sectional need an upgrading. The third bedroom is really an office as indicated in description. Love the Tarpon Springs area. Great restaurants and beautiful beaches nearby. Overall a good time was had by all.

Could have been better

  • 3 of 5

We arrived to a house that was not clean, there was a miscommunication between the owner and the cleaning person... who had to come and clean it while we were there. We understood the mix up and didn't let it spoil our day (we were also given a $100 credit for our trouble). We also arrived to a pool that was very dirty (and cold, and shady) so we cleaned the pool while the cleaning person cleaned the house - apparently the pool boy was on vacation.... not the ideal way to start OUR vacation... and I never thought to ask if the pool was heated - it isn't. And most of the back yard area is in shade all day... there was only one small patch of sun to lay in if your looking for a tan. The house itself was perfect for our family and for our needs while in the area. The kitchen was fully stocked, there were a few rolls of toilet paper, and basic essentials were all there. We were never able to find any beach towels... and had to go buy some in order to go to the beach. The laundry was convenient and soap was provided, and with a family of 5 had to wash towels a few times during our stay. The bed upstairs was extremely comfortable... the futon in the front office, not so much. After our stay, it took several emails back and forth to finally get our security deposit returned - a month later.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry about how this guest's visit started off. I made the corrections immediately so that there vacation could continue smoothly. I apologized to this guest regarding the cleaning miscommunication. It was the fault of our professional cleaning service who remedied the problem immediately upon my contacting her. The house is professionally cleaned between every guest visit. The backyard is shady in the winter months, with more sun areas as the season changes in spring and summer. The pool is not heated, as noted in the house description. By May, the water starts warming up. I'm sorry this guest didn't find pool towels. They are kept in the pool box in the lanai. I'll have my service check because we leave them for guests to use, but to take home with them. The security deposit was refunded once communication with VRBO was cleared up. We provide a lovely, spacious, home with all amenities needed to enjoy their visit.

Nice location - fun Craftsman style

  • 4 of 5

Our family of four enjoyed our stay at this property. Kitchen was equipped nicely. Beautiful hardwood floors through the house. The downstairs bathroom was beautiful. We did not get a chance to use the pool or the porches as the weather was too cold. We enjoyed walking to the small park two blocks away. Didn't exactly see the manatees, but we knew they were there. A visit to Fred Howard Park is a must do!! The beach there was beautiful.

Great stay at a lovely historic house

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for a couple of nights while in the area for the CFP Game in Tampa. Loved the stay. Everything was as advertised! The house and the town of Tarpon Springs were very nice as were the owners! Would have liked to stay a couple of more days to see more of the town, but needed to get back home. Would definitely stay here again if in the area!!

Thanks for the wonderful accommodations!
