We stayed in Les Pommiers for one week and we returned on Sunday, feeling very sad to have left. we had such a wonderful stay, the house was immaculate and full of wonderful interior design features. The gardens have matured since the pictures were taken and we were blown away by how beautiful the gardens were. We stayed with our two young children aged 1 and 3 years, there was everything there that we needed- toys, cot, changing mat, baby bath, high chair- you name it it was there. The facilities outside for children to play were fantastic- swings, games room full of rackets & games, play house, wooden train and sand pits. Martine and Francois were so welcoming and kind, we had a bottle of Cider in the fridge on arrival and one day after Francois had been gardening he left us some freshly cut roses by the front door. They respected our privacy and asked permission to do the gardening, we were very impressed by the whole experience. Normandy was full of delightful villages and towns, we visited Dieppe, Rouen and Hon Fleur. All beautiful and full of history. One day we stayed at the house and just enjoyed being there in the sunshine. there are many local shops and in Auffey the local village they have a market every Friday, well worth a visit. Our visit to the beautiful place has inspired us to move to France one day, the immerse ourselves in this beautiful language and culture. Thank you Martine and Francois, we will be coming again xxxx
We had a lovely time at Les Pommiers, the gite was very spacious and fully equipped with everything you could need - really a home from home! The gardens around the house are beautiful - all created by Francois and Martine who were perfect hosts and really lovely people.
The gite was only 25 minutes from Dieppe but it is in a lovely rural situation, not far from Auffay where you can find a few small shops and supermarket. We drove to the coast most days - although it does take a little time it was worth it, Honfleur is beautiful!
It was always great to come back to the gite in the evening though, it was comfortable and clean and having a proper kitchen to cook in was wonderful.
We would recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away from it all and explore rural Normandy, we couldn't fault it!
Sehr schöne Wohnung in top Zustand, sehr sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, gute Lage für Ausflüge in die Region. Sehr gut geeignet für Familien mit Kindern.
We spent two fantastic weeks at Vert Pomme in late May/early June 2014. The location of Vert Pomme is fantastic in two, albeit contradicting ways. First, the cottage is in a very secluded location which makes for a very peaceful stay. However despite this quiet location, it is in a great spot to easily access all the very best that Normandy has to offer, such as Rouen, Dieppe and the gorgeous Normandy coastline.
The cottage itself is also fantastic having everything you need to enjoy your holiday - a true home from home! Whilst we found the cottage very comfortable, our three year old son also found more than enough to keep him occupied during the stay - he still refers to the cottage as his ' French home'!
Finally, the owners of the cottage Francois and Martine are wonderful hosts and will do everything to ensure that your stay at Vert Pomme is great.
I can't recommend Vert Pomme enough. We are looking forward to returning in the future.
My husband, my two young daughters and myself have just this afternoon returned from a weeks stay at Les Pommiers, and we are sad to be home. We have had a wonderful weeks holiday here and are hoping to visit again next year. The gite is set in absolutely beautiful countryside and is incredibly peaceful, yet it is in a very handy location for a network of roads to visit other areas of stunning Normandy. The gardens and orchard are a delight to wake up to every morning, along with the sounds of the cows in the field out the back. At night you can hear the owls and on a clear night the amount of stars you can see is unbelievable. The gite itself is decorated in a homely and quirky way. It really has been decorated with a wonderful imagination, everyday you notice something different. The little bedroom in particular with its outdoor/nature theme is wonderful and you really do feel peaceful and relaxed when in the gite. The log burner is especially a delight on a dark evening. My daughters were especially taken by the little tabby cat who lives with the owners next door (more still a kitten really). We would sit and watch her antics out in the orchard and laugh, or she would come and play with us in the garden, always happy to see you and with an endearing little squeak of a meow, we were all sad to leave her. Martine & Francois have thought of everything you could possibly need, especially for children. There is a travel cot, baby bath, potty, changing table, highchair, and even a lovely teddy bear shaped cushion chair in the bedroom. There are butterflies and flowers and woodland creatures decorating the bedrooms too which is lovely for the kids. Downstairs there are books, games, a table football and even a farm set for the children too. The kitchen is fully equipped with every utensil you could possibly need. Martine & Francois themselves are wonderful hosts, they give you your privacy but you know they are there if you need anything. Francois was helpful in helping us find places to visit and when my daughter was sad to leave he gave her a rose from the garden. Deliveries on the doorstep of fresh apples from his orchard were also delightful. I cannot recommend this gite enough, and if we could, we would happily move there. You must visit and if you do, please give the little tabby cat a cuddle and a drink of milk for us! :)
