About Caroline & Paul Haffner
Caroline and Paul grew up in the south of the country but have lived in the Alcester area for 40 years. Moved to Oversley Green in February 2016. Paul retired December 2015 from a varied career of engineering and education and Caroline works at the local children's centre.
Caroline & Paul Haffner purchased this Apartment in 2016
Why Caroline & Paul Haffner chose Alcester
We fell in love with this property that included the annex. The hamlet of Oversley Green is very friendly and rural but is only a short walk to town. The black and white cottage, the lovely garden and the riverside frontage sold it to us.
What makes this Apartment unique
The property has fishing rights. Next to the river is the pergola with a lovely sitting area with fire pit/ice bucket, depending on the weather, A small sitting area outside Heron View to enjoy breakfast by the fish pond.

Lovely People Lovely property
We came here for a mini moon with our 10month old son and it was perfect! Quiet and had everything we needed.
Caroline and Paul were friendly and couldn’t help us enough!
Beautiful surroundings, Highly Recommended.
Congratulations to you both!
Glad you enjoyed your visit.
This was our perfect dream of a stay in England
Paul and Caroline Haffner have done an outstanding job creating a beautiful haven for visitors to England. The cottage is charming, and decorated with an eye for detail. It also has completely up-to-date heating, bathroom, kitchen, wi-fi, and television. The grounds are outstanding. Our hosts obviously have a talent for gardening, and it was delightful to sit in the afternoon sun on their lawn. The Arrow River runs past the end of their property, and there are nearby fields with ponies and wildlife. Paul and Caroline were attentive hosts, and were always eager to make our stay pleasant and happy. The cottage is a short walk from the town center of Alcester, with shops, cafes, and pubs, as well as pharmacies and regular grocery stores. I would stay here again, and I can heartily recommend it to anyone.
Thank you Catherine and David for the generous review. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay at Heron View. We would love to welcome you on another occasion.
The property was immaculate
We enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly, offering advice and suggestions of where to visit and where to eat. The fishing at the bottom of the garden was fantastic and my husband caught perch and carp. The property was in a lovely quiet village but near enough to Alcester ( walking distance ) and Stratford Upon Avon. We would definitely return.
Thank you Jenny for your review. We're really pleased John caught some fish!!
Hope to see you again.
A great place to get a feel for the English countryside
Paul was a wonderful host and we were very pleased with the accommodation. The garden at the back is very pretty and we ate lunch and had drinkies there. Alcester is a beaut small town - big enough to have several pubs and a supermarket, but small enough to walk around in 15 minutes. The town was a pleasant 10 minute walk along quiet, woody lanes.
A great place to get a feel for the English countryside!
Thank you for helping to spread the word, David. So glad it all lived up to your expectations. Hope to welcome you again if you are visiting your son.

Excellent break away from it all
Heron View was perfect for a weekend of peace and solitude. Caroline and Paul were extremely friendly and helpful whilst the cottage was excellent and exactly what we hoped for. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
We were so glad you had the quiet break away from London that you were looking for. Thank you for the review.
a comfortable stay and a great welcome
The place is an annex to a listed thatched cottage by the river, guests can use the owner's garden. The accommodation is quiet, comfortable, nicely furnished and well equipped, clean and the hosts are very kind and welcoming. There are dogs but we didn't meet them. Very handy for Stratford upon Avon, Coughton Court and the pleasant old town of Alcester. Lots of short and long distance walking routes very nearby.
Thanks for your review Tom. Glad you got plenty of walking.
