Le clos du coignier is a large fully renovated 4 bedroom traditional stone farm house with exposed beams set in its own grounds providing complete privacy. It's situated in a small hamlet close to all amenities offering peace and calm. It gives you the ability to relax and enjoy life in country side France without being too far away from amenities. The house is comfortably furnished and excellently situated for the many local attractions of this region.
Smoking is strictly forbidden at this property though outside sitting areas are available. The large candles and candles dotted around are strickley for decoration purposes as naked flames are not allowed. Please refrain from sitting on sofa and armchair arms. There are two wood burner fire places on this property ,logs are supplied for your use. Please ensure that the doors of the burners are firmly closed during use. This property is strickley only for the use of paying guests as per the booking. On the first floor you have access to flat screen Hd TV, DVDs/video player. They are not to be removed from their respective area. On the second floor you have access to a PlayStation 3. Please ensure that this is not removed from its cabinet.

This region of France has many events throughout the summer. In July and August there are several live music nights in many of the bars in the immediate area including jazz and blues at the bar less than 300 meters walk from the house.
Leisure activities in the area include fishing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, cycling (bikes are available for rent on request in advance) and sight seeing. There are several cave networks and prehistoric sites in the region such as the grotte de villars just outside of the picturesque town of Brantome (affectionately nicknamed the Venice of France). Perigueux capital of dordogne is 30km away with 2 market days Wednesdays and Saturdays where you can buy and taste local produce, wine, cheeses, arts and crafts.
For sea lovers, Royan, 80 minutes away, has vast beaches and is a paradise for seafood lovers.
The big Sand Dune of Pyl, the largest in Europe, is 2 hours away. An exciting and stunning trip. On the way visit Bordeaux and experience Paris chic at half price. A classic Bordeaux experience is a Saturday morning eating oysters and drinking fresh crisp white wine from a seafood stand in the city's legendary covered food market.
55 kilometres away is the city of Bergerac set on the northern bank of the Dordogne River. The lovely medieval streets, half timbered houses known as the old town centre. If you are a wine enthusiast there is an exhibition showing the history of Bergerac wines and its 13 appellations. Every first Sunday of the month there is an antique market. Lots of lovely bars restaurants shops.

30 minutes away is the small medieval town of Aubeterre with man made river beaches on the river Dronne, monolithic church, boutiques, bars and restaurants.
15 kilometres away is Lac Jemaye Regional Park - a natural lake set on the edge of the "Double" forest that has been sculpted at one end to provide swimming facilities with lifeguards during the summer period, as well as bars, restaurants, picnic and play areas and walking routes around the lake.
35 kilometers away the town of Brantome, known as the Venice of the Dordogne, has a nice mix of Medieval and Renaissance architecture to admire, Canoes can be hired to relax and glide along the calm river, covered with lillies and weeping willows.
8 kilometers away is the market town of Riberac with shops, bars, restaurants, Friday market reputedly the biggest market in Perigord, recently renovated open outdoor public swimming pools, gym, tennis courts, cinema and music concerts in the bars during the summer months.
