About the property

Three Bedroom Cottage, Sleeps 6

Penhallow is a traditional St Ives fisherman's cottage set over three floors giving space to a family staying during school holidays or an intimate retreat for couples wanting to get away for a coastal break. Being just a few hundred sandy feet from the harbour beach, you couldn't be better placed to explore St Ives' best eateries, galleries, beaches and give a few of the sight-seeing trips a go or mooch around the beautiful secret coves (best found at low tide!).

Cool in the summer, toasty in the winter, Penhallow is perfect all year round whatever your reason to visit St Ives. With its outdoor space, you can sip your favourite tipple while cooling off from a day on the beach or in the winter it's a dream to light the wood burner, curl up with a book and let your mind wander.

The master bedroom and twin bedroom are on the first floor along with the family bathroom, stripped wooden floorboards and white walls give a sense of fresh reserve with tasteful splashes of subtle coastal colours to remind you where you're holidaying! On the ground floor, you can enjoy an open plan living space being sociable and all inviting. The kitchen is modern, well equipped and light with a window seat offering slight glimpses of the harbour.

On the lower ground floor (street level) you have two single beds which comes with en-suite WC and wash basin and door leading out to the cobbled walk way down to the beach.

There is free WiFi throughout the house.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Another wonderful holiday at Penhallow. As usual cottage was beautifully clean and the bed linen fresh. The lovely garden is what makes the cottage so special. Hope to holiday there next year.

Typical Cornish cottage within level walking distance to harbour and all beaches.

Cottage has outside seating area which we used to store surf board/bodyboards as nowhere in house to do so. As the cottage sleeps six , comfortably and there is an ensuite with sink and toilet downstairs but another shower would have been useful. We did as orange roofs suggested and parked up early then booked a taxi to load up and drop off all our luggage close to the cottage. Have to say Ace taxis as recommended were brilliant and would definitely do this again. When the weather isn't great Penhallows location was perfect for popping to the beache to check out the waves or seeing if the seals were in the harbour or nipping out for a cheeky pasty. The living area isn't huge but then who wants to sit indoors when you have all of St Ives to explore and enjoy 😊?

well equipped cottage

  • 5 of 5

We all enjoyed our stay in Penhallow. Beautifully decorated, well equipped cottage. Perfect location, would stay here again. Only fault was, we found the basement room very cold and ?damp. Slugs in washroom. I would book to stay here again but only use two upstairs bedrooms.

Owner's Response: Hello Christine Thank you so much for your review, that's not good you felt the downstairs area was cold and damp, we will definitely rectify that to make it the warm and cosy room it has been! I wonder if you put the heating on? Also, not nice to share the washroom with a slug! Even they are escaping the British weather! We will be very happy to help you book another holiday in the future, we look forward to hearing from you again soon. Sam (Orange Roofs)

The property was excellent and suited us perfectly. It had all the amenities we could wish for and was very clean. Set in a very secluded spot yet still only 30 mtrs. from the Harbour beach,

Penhallow is a lovely, well-equipped cottage with a fantastic location, 2 minutes from the sea front. Clean, tasteful and comfy - excellent information provided. Great restaurants in the area - notably Porthminster Kitchen, Blas Burger, Sea Rooms and Scoff Troff

Fabulous location with great Accommodation

  • 5 of 5

Back home from a fantastic week away staying at Penhallow. We arrived to a clean and homely cottage that was very well equipped. We didn't want for anything.

The customer service received from Orange Roofs was exceptional from start to finish.

The location of this property is outstanding and we will certainly be recommending it to friends.

Thankyou for making our family holiday a great one.
