Number Two Harbour House has arguably the best front row seats for gazing over the ever-changing sea and beach views of St Ives harbour. Whether an artist in your spare time, an instagram photographer or one who wishes to pass the time in comfortable and luxurious surroundings, Harbour House will tick so many boxes. The entire south-facing front of the apartment dutifully watches over the fishermen landing their catch at Smeaton’s Pier and the St Ives lifeboat launch from the slipway. Padding from your bedroom to make the first tea or coffee of the day, you will be warmly welcomed by the peaceful harbour scene with its cut glass clear and calm sea, boats gently waking to the tide and the sea-facing parts of town washed by glorious pink light from the sunrise over Smeatons Pier. Bustling and colourful by day, filled with beach lovers and boating fun, street cafés and stalls, galleries and restaurants, followed by peaceful golden sunsets and silver moonscapes over the bay; Number Two Harbour House is the perfect setting for romantic evenings, promenaders and people watchers!

This luxury apartment isn’t just about the views though – it’s also about the standard of comfort you will enjoy staying here. There is digitally controlled heating and LED downlighting throughout. Ample and inviting sofas are positioned to offer you the infinitesimal harbour views and dining is made all the more pleasurable with cushioned alcove seating around a table designed to fit perfectly in the bay window - in fact why not arrange a private chef and have the best private restaurant table in town! As for entertainment, there is a Smart TV with BT Infinity, DVD, an iPod dock for your own music and, as there is unlimited free WiFi, why not log-in to your NetFlix and enjoy a movie with a harbour scene as the backdrop.

If you fancy eating in and there is an accomplished cook in your party, then they will love the large, well equipped kitchen, with a clever Neff oven and state of the art induction hob. There is a built in fridge, freezer, washer dryer and dishwasher plus microwave and coffee maker which all go to making life easy in the kitchen. To give it a different twist depending on your mood, you can change the mood lighting from cool blue to red hot. The kitchen also has a super bay window where you can sit in two safari chairs, open the large windows to create a ‘balcony' and feel like you’re almost sitting on the beach below.

Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with mood lighting, TVs, black out and sheer blinds and 100% Egyptian cotton towels and lovely white bed linen. The en-suite to the king size bedroom has a bath with shower over, as well as wash basin and loo while the second bedroom (which can either have twin beds or king size bed) has an en-suite shower room with wash basin and loo. There is a third shower room with wash basin and loo so there will never be any queues! All bathrooms have underfloor heating and both en-suites have heated towel rails.

Being next to the beach, the owners have thoughtfully provided you with folding chairs and beach essentials including bucket and spades in an external beach locker. They also provide a generous welcome hamper. The secure allocated parking is a 10 minute walk from the apartment so you can easily explore other areas of Cornwall without fear of losing your parking space!

Number Two Harbour House is on the first floor of this traditional slate fronted building and is accessed via 14 granite steps to the side of the building. There is an alternative access to the rear of the apartment via a gentle gradient with fewer steps.

Lovely place with great views

Great location right on the wharf overlooking the harbour where you can admire the view or just watch the world go by, also convenient for galleries, shops and restaurants etc. being right in the heart of St. Ives. Very nicely furnished living/dining areas with nice personal touches with everything you could wish for. Secure undercover parking was provided although given this is St. Ives it was 10-15min walk away. Only downside were the bedrooms which were tucked in at the back with little outlook/natural light hence the 4 stars, otherwise it would have been 5.

We had a wonderful stay at 2 Harbour House. The apartment is so cozy and comfortable, and it is even cuter in person! The kitchen was well equipped for cooking (we only cooked breakfast). There were manuals available so you were able to look up any questions you might have (i.e. how to run a European washing machine) and Orange Roofs was quick to respond to any question we had that was not answered by a manual. There were also maps of the area to use, in order to explore the surrounding country side.

We loved sitting in any one of the three bay windows to watch the harbor during high and low tide. We had one day of "rough seas" and that provided some pretty amazing waves crashing into the sea walls.

The only thing that you might need that is not provided is paper towels and napkins. And since this is an apartment and not a hotel, you will need to bring your own shampoo and shower gel.

The scones that were provided upon our arrival were so yummy! What a great way to start our Cornwall vacation. We had one of the best meals of our 10 day trip at the Cellar Bistro (recommended by Orange Roofs).

We would stay here again in a heart beat! It was perfection! If I can figure it out, I will add our own photos!

Fantastic flat: fantastic location.

First impressions, although traffic is slow on the front, parking and off loading cases was fine. On arrival in flat we were like kids in a sweetie shop, rushing from window to window admiring the view. Indeed every free moment during the week was spent sitting watching life go by in the harbour. So restful.

The flat was well equipped withcoffee machine, dishwasher etc. 3 toilets and showers and a bath: no complaints there. What probably sets it apart is the fact that the people at Orange Roofs were genuinely keen to make the experience as good as possible. Prior to arrival we got emails giving advice on how to maximise our stay. Also during our stay they were in contact. We had a problem with our HDMI cable. I emailed to say there was a problem but since weather was ok it was not an issue but to be aware for the next tenants. Within 24hrs a new cable was couriered to the flat. Now that's service!

St Ives itself is lovely and the flat is located centrally so that restaurants and pubs are within easy walking distance.

Overall this was a lovely holiday and the location and condition of the flat was an integral part of it. The service provided by Orange Roofs staff could not be bettered. Thank you so much.

The best view in St Ives

The apartment was stunning and all the communication prior to arrival was prompt and very helpful. This is a place where you don't want your holiday to end. We will most certainly be back as soon as we can.
