About the property

Cozy 2014 renovated Cottage - less than 2 min walk to the Beaufort River

This is a new listing (February 2015) of our renovated cottage downtown Beaufort. Since this listing is new, we dont have any reviews yet to provide to you from our guests. But we also own listing number 470407 which was totally renovated in 2013. Please check out the reviews of the salmon cottage to get an idea how much we care about our guests and cottages. Please also check out the salmon cottage in case this one is already booked.

This cottage was completely renovated in 2014 / 2015 and is in heart of the National Historic District of Beaufort and only a 10 minute walk to downtown shops and restaurants and only a 2 minute walk to Bay Street and the Beaufort River. It is also only a short drive to Paris Island Marine Corps Station.

The cottage features a queen size bed and one full size bathroom as well as a fully equipped kitchen.

We offer place for up to 4 people. There is not a second bedroom but the couch in the living room is a sleeper and offers additional sleeping space.

The cottage also has a front porch with a wicker bench plus a little table and a back patio with patio furniture for relaxing in the evening.

We provide all linens and towels to our guests.

Internet / WIFI access is also available.

We also provide our guests with a passport to the Hunting Island State Park and Beach.

Since there is no land line phone in the cottage, a cell phone is a must for emergencies or to contact us during your stay for any problems or questions.

Parking is available in front of the cottage.

We take pride in our cottage, so we have arranged a cleaning service to clean after your stay. They will also wash and dry linens and towels and replace them for the next guests. The $50 fee is an addition to the rental fee.

We look forward to having you as our guest.

Nice location and very quiet. Cottage is adequate but sure could use a new mattress on the bed. The cottage needs new sheets and towels.

Owner's Response: Dear Michael, I am kinda surprised about your review because you seemed to enjoy everything and said that the cottage is so nice! And I have to laugh a little too because we replaced all towels on June 6th 2018 when we had a check out and you arrived on June 11th. The towels were only a few days old!!! Would you like to provide me with the receipt??? Also, we make always sure that the towels don't have a "bleached" spot on it - some guests use facial cleanser that actually bleaches the towels. And to us that is a "no no" even though the towels still could be used but they get thrown away when this happens! So I don't quite understand this! As far as the sheets: Well, we replace them every spring (end of February) along with the pillows to have that fresh every season!!! And if it gets stained before the next spring we also replace them!! So they were pretty much semi new - so I don't understand that complaint either!!! Makes no sense whatsoever!! Mattresses..... I will never make anybody happy on that unless I provide maybe 3 mattresses and label them "soft" "medium" and "hard" and you pick and put on your bed what you like! Then I may have a slightly chance to make people happy!! So to clarify the age: This mattress was purchased in 2015 after the entire cottage was renovated and it came from a local mattress store here in Beaufort! It is NOT a cheap mattress but also NOT a $2,000 mattress! We even added a memory foam topper for extra comfort! Maybe I need to do a research and see if others buy new mattresses on a yearly basis but if I do so, I assume I will have to raise my prices! And even if I would replace my mattress every year, I already know I wont be able to satisfy every guest because sleep preferences are different! Thanks again for choosing our cottage for your stay in Beaufort!

Owner's Response: Hi Marcia, thank you for your generous review of 4 stars. I wish you had contacted me concerning the shower problems you experienced and not only at 04:30 in the morning when you were about to burn down my cottage and the fire department arrived! Here some clarifications for you and other travelers: 1) weak shower pressure - if you pull out the handle all the way you have very heavy pressure coming out of the shower head - if you pull just a little bit then of course it dripps 2) Cold Water: Well, I can prove that this is incorrect because we have a TANKLESS WATER HEATER and you never run out of hot water! Simple as that!!! 3) The TV is a 23" and not a 17" - please measure correctly before making statements like that! The reason why we chose a smaller TV is because the living room is small and it would look odd to have a huge TV in there. But tastes and preferences are different and I understand that! 4) Channels, we do advertise in our description that we provide local network TV channels - so we advertise what we have not not want it a big surprise for people. Also, the TV has a DVD player included - another reason why we chose this size! 5) no dishwasher - no laundry - we also don't advertise that we have all of this and don't provide it. Next time we recommend to study the description of a place - especially if you rent a one bedroom cottage. 6) pull out mattress: well, I have not designed these things and we even provide a memory foam for it but people actually do know that there is not a great mattress inside of a pull out couch - cant expect a couple thousand dollar mattress in there - since it has to fold, what else can you put in there??? 7) coffee table... well, what do I say - it is a regular size coffee table.... I can leave it out but then I will receive a complaint that there was no coffee table... 8) lots of buildings.... wow I am surprised here!!! It is actually not the case and very private … wow - I am kinda speechless on that one. If you book a place within walking distance to Downtown Beaufort, that's what you have …. there are houses and my guests actually love the cottages because they are downtown but yet have privacy and very peaceful and no noise.... maybe for your next vacation you book a place in the country on an acre of land instead of downtown I really wish you had contacted me especially about the shower if you have problems operating it. But you chose to surprise me with an online review

Petite Purple House

  • 4 of 5

This purple house is ideally located in the Historic District of Beaufort, a short walk from from anywhere in town a visitor would want to go. It's also convenient to several interesting bike outings, the best one being the Spanish Moss Trail. The view from the porch looks over to the Beaufort River, and sitting on the porch is one of the pleasures of being here. If I may, however, suggest, more comfortable seating would be nice; the current wicker couch is not too comfortable. That being said, for anyone traveling solo or as a couple, the petite purple house will serve you needs while in Beaufort.
