Duplex built on the natural rock of Salobreña, a small town in the coast of Granada, full of life all year round. Proper Spain! Watch the video at the end of the photo section!

The property is registered in the Andalusian Tourist Registry (number VFT/GR/00159) complying with all legal requirements for holiday renting.

The townhouse is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac amongst Spanish neighbours of the old town. It combines comfort and vintage design with local, rustic character.

On the 1st floor: a spacious, air conditioned and heating open plan living area, with a large and fully equipped kitchen, complete with dishwasher, washing machine, a SMEG fridge, a wonderful old wooden farm table and an original school blackboard to leave your messages or express your art! The L shaped leather sofa faces the terrace and TV area, and has a versatile industrial wall lamp above it. The terrace receives direct sun light from early morning to late afternoon, and is perfect for breakfast, lunch or alfresco dining. The original stone wall is a beautiful feature of the property, and it is fully lit from above for creating ambience.

On the 2nd floor: two quiet bedrooms with comfortable beds, heating and air conditioning, blackout shutters, and built-in wardrobes, overlook a narrow pedestrian alley. A subway tiled bathroom with a large walk-in shower and a guest toilet are situated opposite each bedroom. East orientation ensure calm, cool nights.

Peaceful and spacious: This is a spacious, bright, air conditioned, well decorated and stylish property with no traffic noise. The terrace is perfect for breakfast under the morning sun, and nice and cool in the evenings. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and face a quiet pedestrian street, ensuring a good night's sleep! Towels and bed linen are included. When booking for more than a week a 3h cleaning is included in the price rent. Being built on the slope of the mountain has the surprising effect of keeping a very pleasant temperature both in summer and winter. Car access to the front door, plenty of parking spaces available. No traffic noise.

Authentic: This is a house in the centre of the old town, set amongst Spanish neighbours and narrow white washed streets. It is not a beachfront apartment but rather a special place to observe the daily goings-on of the town.

Privileged location: The most southern european skiing resort, Sierra Nevada, is just 1 hour away, next to the beautiful city of Granada and the Alhambra which is only a 45 minutes drive from Salobreña. The Alpujarras is a mountainous area of remote villages that is very much recommended for their breathtaking scenery and hearty gastronomy. Finally, the Costa Tropical has unspoiled coves and beaches, and a large area protected after being declared National Park. 320 days of sun per year, village life, mountain range, sea, trendy Malaga, historic Granada... you choose!

Comfort: Whether you want to stay at home and relax, or go and explore the area, the property is ideally located. It is only a 15 minute walk to the beach. A comfortable living room with a large corner sofa, WiFi, books, 46´ Satellite TV (Astra), Air conditioning/heating.

Safe: safety gates for stairs to protect children, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, first aid kit and hotel type safety box.

About Jorge Postigo

I am a Spaniard living between London and Spain. I take much care in keeping my Salobreña property in top shape, spending time decorating it in a non-fussy, elegant style, using natural, quality materials and equipment. When I go back to Andalucia I like to live the atmosphere of the town, walk the streets, talk to people, and appreciate the small things that make life fun. When at home I like to relax in comfortable spaces that are clutter free and genuine. I want my guests to feel the same way when they stay in Salobreña. I have a local housekeeper that takes care of handing out keys, cleaning and solving any issues on the spot. I am always available too. When not at work, or thinking about ways to improve my property, I practice yoga, open water swimming, listen to flamenco, and read fiction.

Why Jorge Postigo chose Salobreña

In 2004 I found a town house built in the 60´s with lot´s of charm and potential. I liked the open space and the way in was distributed, with the living/cooking and sleeping areas in two separate floors. Now I enjoy renovating and decorating it to make a comfortable, spacious and stylish home in which to spend a holiday.

What makes this house unique

It is not a beach apartment nor a villa with a swimming pool, but rather a charming town house in which to feel part of town life. Comfortable & bright, it is just a 10 minute walk to the beach, and a 50 minutes motorway drive to Granada and Malaga. The property has an ideal indoor temperature always, which can be controlled with the climatization units. Salobreña itself is a small town with a picturesque Old Town, where the property is located. Salobreña is alive all year round, not only during the summer months. The Costa Tropical is much less known than the Costa del Sol, there are plenty of seaside and mountain towns, coves and beaches to discover.

The property has been renovated and decorated with care and is used regularly by me when not rented. It is an ideal place for a peaceful, authentic holiday in a traditional Spanish village. It is only 45 minutes away from the historic city of Granada, and the Alhambra. It features aircon/heating, a large kitchen, good beds, a leather sofa, Wi-Fi, a 46' satellite TV, boardgames, safety box & books in various languages. Situated in the charismatic Old Town, 10 minutes walk from the local beach, popular with young people and families. There are many other beaches and coves along the coast. The property is 5 minutes walk downhill to banks with cash machines, larger supermarkets, chemists, newsagents, bars etc. I will provide a information with personal recommendations on the best places to eat in Motril, Salobreña & Almuñecar, as well as best beaches around the area, day trips to nearby towns, and telephone numbers you might need. A welcome pack is provided & included in the price.

Great apartment and location

We loved the place. It was comfortable and well appointed. It had everything one could hope for. The walk down to the beach at first looked a little daunting but we didn’t have a problem with it. Solabrena is a small town but the surrounding area was a short drive away.

Very comfortable and well located

A comfortable, well equipped, and located apartment. The kitchen was great for cooking. Nice, open living space for dining and relaxing on the sofas. We really appreciated the welcome basket of fruit and food in the fridge. WiFi was strong. The balcony terrace was a good place for relaxing.

A Great Stay

We really enjoyed our stay in Salobrena at Jorge's house. The property is lovely and ideally located for both the beach and the old town where you can enjoy some authentic Spanish cuisine. We also loved the really comfy beds and thought the house was extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. A huge thank you to Jorge and a huge recommendation to all.

Charming House in wonderful location

In january 2015 we stayed in Jorges house in Salobrena. Because we have enjoyed our holidays so much in Salobrena, so we came back to Jorge in january 2016. Jorges house has a wonderful location. It's in the middle of the hill in the old town of Salobrena. Here it's very quiet and the neighbourhood are spanish people and friendly. Here you can feel spanish life, we prefer. Jorges house is pleasant, comfortable, clean, warm and homely with lots of stylish details. Approx. 10 minutes walk to the pebble beach. Here are a lot of chirinquitos (beach snack bars). The communication with the owner was very friendly, quickly and reliable and also with his help calling Rita. Absolutely we can recommend this propert .Would stay here again. We had a wonderful time.

Great location and a 'real' home

Perfect location to feel like you are actually in a real functioning town not just a holiday resort but just 10 minute walk to the beach, Additionally Jorge's house is very homely with lots of stylish and practical touches that make you feel at home. The kitchen has everything you need but there are lots of restaurants within a short walk that you might not use it too much. Although the biggest surprise for us was just how quiet the location is even though it is so central to everything..

The Costa Tropical is a small stretch of coast line nestled in between the Costa del Sol and Costa Almeria, although only 60km in length it boasts some of the most beautiful coastline and beaches with breathtaking journeys along its jagged coastline enabling the more adventurous to find that perfect hide-away for soaking up some Mediterranean sun. Salobrena is a Moorish white town perched on a rocky outcrop surrounded by a sea of sugar cane fields and tropical fruits contrasting with the intense blue of the Mediterranean. The town centre is made up of several neighbourhoods built within the town walls during the Middle Ages; Albaycin, de la Loma, el Brocal and la Fuente are still maintained in their original Medieval layout of labyrinths, winding streets, passageways, arches and geranium covered windows. The unique sub-tropical climate makes this an ideal all year round holiday apartment - come in the winter months and you can sunbathe and ski on the same day.

Salobreña is connected via motorway to both Malaga (50 minutes) and Granada (45 minutes).

Other Activities: Great scuba diving in La Herradura (20 minutes drive)
