This cottage-like guest house is a gem set behind the garden gates of a large Spanish style older home. Everything about it is delightful - its décor, its location, its well-equipped kitchen, its friendly host family including charming dogs. Being able to walk to the Art Museum, Heard Museum (both excellent and have café-restaurants) and the theatre was particularly appealing, yet the area is quiet. It was a great choice for the 2 of us and we'd recommend it easily to others! Gail and Dave, Winnipeg, MB Canada
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Mary's bungalow. It was perfect, just as the pictures depicted and a comfortable relaxing lay out. We enjoyed our time in the bungalow and Mary and Ian were very gracious to us and helpful with giving us suggestions for restaurants and shopping, etc. The cottage was very charming and comfortable and even the yard was very relaxing, we felt we were in our very own private retreat. I hope to come back and visit again and look forward to our stay here at Mary's bungalow. We especially enjoyed Naomi! The kitchen was fully stocked and enjoyed the use of the grill as well. It was very clean and we had a wonderful stay. I would definitely recommend this VRBO!
We had a wonderful experience staying at this beautiful vacation home! The location is absolutely ideal - just 5 minutes from the airport and downtown Phoenix. The cottage is everything we were hoping for and more. Charming, designed with elegance and style. The bed was super comfortable. We enjoyed movie night on the very comfy couch with our kids. The kitchen was even stocked with breakfast foods for us. Beautiful bathroom and luxurious shower. Mary was incredibly kind and generous! She made sure we had everything we needed the whole weekend. She suggested a fantastic pizza place for dinner and offered us her pass for the nearby museum as well as bikes to use. We couldn't recommend this home more highly!
From the moment we arrived at the darling cottage, we were so impressed. The yard is lovely, green and cool, and the trees are alive with birds. This property is just perfect; right in the middle of the city and so near everything. We didn't feel at all as though we were in the desert. While we didn't use the pool, it's very large and inviting. The unit was just as described and as shown in the pictures - - Cute, nicely decorated with a fun beach theme, and spic and span. The kitchen is all brand new and has everything one would need to prepare a complete holiday meal. We ate most of our meals out, but enjoyed having the ability to bring leftovers back with us and to enjoy breakfast and afternoon appetizers there. A great bar-b-que was right outside, however, we didn't make use of it as there were so many restaurants that we wanted to enjoy; Richardson's and Southern Rail to mention just two. Mary provided lots of info. re dining, sightseeing and points of interest, and she was more than happy to give additional suggestions as well. We loved the comfy furnishings and entertainment center with a huge TV and, if one were interested, it was filled with many interesting books and board games. The bed was very comfortable and since the house is located in a residential area, it was very quiet and peaceful. Of course, the washer and dryer were a real plus.
Mary is the dearest of ladies, and from the making of our reservation to our departure, she was ever so kind, informative and made every effort to make our stay pleasurable. We hated departing as our week just flew, and it felt more like leaving a close friend when we said good-bye. We would not hesitate for a second to return as we enjoyed ourselves so, and would recommend this property to anyone who would enjoy a pleasant escape from a hotel stay. We have friends who live in Sun City West come to visit us for the day. They were so impressed with the "Beachy Villa" that they said they might just reserve it sometime in the future for a fun get away.
Many thanks, Mary, to you, your lovely family and, of course, Naomi and Blaze, for making our stay so special!
For my 42nd Birthday my wonderful husband saw that I needed time to myself after 17 years of Raising kids and homeschooling being in full time ministry and almost 20 years of marriage. I had never taken any time for just me. I searched on line for the perfect place that I felt like I could just Rest and Breath. The Cottage was the perfect week of rest and relaxing. When we arrived there were even roses and wine with a note of Happy birthday waiting for us. I was truly Blessed....It was even more perfect than any of the pictures on line. The Kitchen was amazing and I was able to cook anything. I had thought I would go and see downtown Phoenix but the cottage was so beautifully Perfect and peaceful I didn't want to go anyplace but stay in and just BE. I LOVED the beautiful decor, the MOST AMAZING sofa and a bedroom that rivals anything in any magazine.....Oh, and In the bedroom is the MOST perfect reading chair.....just perfect! When I wasn't relaxing of the sofa and watching movies I was able to sit and read For hours, Which for a mother of 5 is well, Just impossible. It was all just Perfect, Everything I had wanted and hoped for.....I know, I know, I keep using the word perfect but that's because that's how it felt and I feel so blessed to have found it and been able to stay For the time I did. Even the Dogs were so sweet! We will be back and not just once but many times I can promise you. Thank you Mary so much For creating the Perfect peaceful cottage for one to escape the rigors of every day life and just breath and rest and relax. I cant wait to come again!!
The home is very close to the airport, and also close to downtown Phoenix for shopping, walking, eating. A very quiet neighborhood, and peaceful yard setting. Mary and her family were very gracious and welcoming!
