CROYDE LITTLE GEM OVERVIEW

As its name implies this property really is a little gem! In a wonderful location close to the heart of the village and surrounded by well kept gardens it is just a few minutes walk to the golden sandy bay popular with surfers and families alike. Set well back from the road and approached by a long driveway with ample parking, this lovely detached bungalow sits slightly elevated giving views over the village towards the sand dunes and even a glimpse of the sea. Light, bright and spacious throughout, this is a real home-away-from-home by the sea.

Croyde is one of Devon's most popular seaside villages with a stunning coastal walk which leads around the headland to Putsborough and Woolacombe. There are a number of local surf shops, an ice cream parlour, post office and some excellent pubs and restaurants.

LIVING AREAS

The comfortable open plan lounge and dining room has patio windows at either end of the room giving a choice of walking out onto the front terrace or through to the fabulous conservatory and on to the rear garden. Sofas and armchairs seat 8 people comfortably, and the solid wood dining table seats 6. High chairs x 2 provided.

An electric fire will keep you warm on cooler evenings, and home entertainment includes an HD TV with Freeview, NetFlix, Blu-ray DVD player with BlueTooth wireless MP3 player interface for smartphones, Nintendo Wii with games, book selection and board games.

The sun-trap conservatory is a lovely peaceful space to read a book with a cup of tea, with seating for 6 people.

KITCHEN

The fully fitted kitchen is spacious and really well equipped to ensure a relaxing self-catering stay. Appliances include an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, full size fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, as well as all other essential kitchen utensils, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery (including children's).

There is a butterfly drop-leaf dining table and folding chairs for 4 people in the kitchen, perfect for catching a bite to eat before heading to the beach.

BEDROOMS

Two of the stylish bedrooms are located off the central hallway together with the family bathroom. The attractive master bedroom is accessed from the sitting room and benefits from an en suite shower room and French door out onto the front terrace.

Bedroom 1: Large elegant bedroom with king size bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe and bedside cabinets. This room has garden views and a lovely en suite shower room with WC and basin.

Bedroom 2: Charming bedroom with views over the garden. The king size bed has a zip 'n' link option to make twin beds on request. Furniture includes a dressing table with mirror, bedside cabinets and an armchair.

Bedroom 3: Bright and cheerful twin bedroom with a fun nautical theme. Furniture includes a chest of drawers and a large matching wardrobe.

2 x travel cots and 2 x high chairs provided.

BATHROOMS

Bathroom 1: Contemporary family bathroom with bath and shower attachment overhead and wash basin. There is a separate cloakroom with WC.

Bathroom 2: Spacious en suite shower room to Bedroom 1 with shower enclosure, wash basin, large mirror and WC.

Bath towels are provided.

OUTDOORS

CROYDE LITTLE GEM has a front and rear garden. The sunny front garden has beautiful views and even a glimpse of the sea. There is a lawn and patio area with outdoor furniture seating 4. There is plenty more seating in the large private rear garden, which is laid to lawn with 3 different seating areas to sit and enjoy the sunshine, and ideal for al fresco dining. The garden is fully enclosed with a pergola and pretty flower and shrub borders with palms. A charcoal BBQ is provided for warm summer evenings outdoors, as well as a swingset and lawn games.

There is private parking for 3 cars on the driveway. A double and single pushchair buggy is provided.

A charming, unspoilt village on the North Devon coast, Croyde has a choice of traditional pubs, restaurants, ice cream parlours and surf shops. The village centre is a delightful cluster of unspoilt period and chocolate box cottages.

The award winning sandy beach is perennially popular with hardy surfers looking for waves, and there are also rock pools and sand dunes, which are a must for young intrepid explorers. For the more adventurous, kite surfing, volleyball, kayaking and horse riding are all on your doorstep. Coastal and Countryside walks include the majestic Croyde cliff path to Baggy Point, (and for those energetic), to Woolacombe and beyond.

There is so much to do in and around Croyde with various festivals throughout the year, lots of local pubs have live music throughout the year, The Thatch and The Kings Arms at Georgeham tend to have the most music on, both usually having a decent band play on Friday night.

Looking forward, the Croyde Ocean Triathlon is held inJuly, this hotly contested Olympic length triathlon attracts hundreds of athletes each year, make sure you enter early!

CYCLE (or drive) TO:A day at historic Braunton Burrows is great, or cycle round to Crow Point through the fascinating Braunton Marshes passing a delightful thatched Linhay or cattle shelter built almost 200 years ago. Bird watchers will be in their element here. Cyclists can also enjoy the 30-mile Tarka Trail tracking the scenic coastline of North Devon.

DRIVE TO: Explore the beautiful Exmoor National Park. Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep all within a short driving distance. Cultural days can be passed at Arlington Court, historic Clovelly Village, Watermouth Castle, Lynton, Lynmouth, Victorian-styled Ilfracombe with its quaint fishing harbour and many more. Saunton Golf Course is a mere 3 miles down the road with its 2 famous links courses. Excellent situation for Saunton Golf Course. Very spacious and well equipped house. Excellent garden and quite private. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
