beautiful bastide in countryside

  • 5 of 5

Our rental nicely accomodated our group of seven women. The kitchen was well-equipped, the beds were big and comfortable, and we appreciated having three bathrooms. Situated about 10 minutes from Isle-sur-la Sorgue it is well located for touring villages and other attractions of Provence. Plus it is peaceful. Thank you Katie, our hostess.

Amazing place!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Kate's place! I could stay there forever actually!! First of all, Kate was a wonderful hostess. When we arrived there were all the necessities for the next morning, including fresh eggs from the roaming hens in the yard, plus she recommended a great little restaurant close by for dinner and even made reservations for us. It was our favorite place we went on our whole trip...Auberge de Lagnes...Wonderful place! But i digress!....The house was even better than the photos. There were five of us and we had plenty of room. The beds were so comfortable and the showers (once we figured them out!!) were great. The location was great for side trips to many different places in the area, and an easy walk to the little town nearby where there was a little outdoor market. Our four days flew by, but i hope to spend some more time at this amazing place in the future!

Great French country house

  • 4 of 5

I loved our week, the house and the area. Kate Dickinson was lovely, and helpful.

I loved the back yard and the chickens that roam around and produce fresh eggs, which Kate generously gave to us on our arrival.

The location was great. Easy for day trips to Gordes, Rousillon, Avignon, Les Baux, etc. A short drive from L'Isle Sur La Sorgue and the great market and antique shops there.

The kitchen was well equipped and was a central focus of not just meals, but family activity. The outdoor table was also lovely for the warmer evenings.

There were three bathrooms, and even with 8 guests in the house we never had to line up or wait for anyone. We had plenty of hot water, and comforts.

The owners had all sorts of travel guides, literature, board games etc, all of which came in handy.

The only point I would note that is not 100% positive is that the home is quite close to the D route, so there is some traffic noise, even though you are out in the country side. It did not bother me, and the back bedrooms are quite insulated from it, but some of our travel mates did comment that the house was a little too close to the road for their liking.

That said, I would go back in a heart beat and would highly recommend the area and this house to anyone.

I would be happy to talk to prospective visitors if they have any questions. Enjoy. I already wish I was back there.

Liebevoll renoviertes Bauernhaus

  • 5 of 5
