About Elaine

Having been born and brought up abroad, I came to Holyport village in pursuit of playing polo having caught the bug in South Africa. I have owned three properties in the village as I love it and the community so much.

Elaine purchased this cottage in 2011

Why Elaine chose Maidenhead

Property rarely comes up for sale in this village as no one moves from here as its such a perfect location for London and Windsor while still having the tranquillity and community spirit of the village.

What makes this cottage unique

Perfectly located in the village with two great pubs either end of the street who serve great food and beverages. The village is fantastically located for Windsor Castle, LEGOLAND, Bray ( The Fat Duck and The Waterside Inn)and London ( 19mins train ride). It has a sunlit court yard with comfy seating at the back and a lovely wood burner for the winter months. It has been recently renovated in a contemporary style but keeping the cottage's original features. It has a well equipped kitchen along with a dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hob and microwave.

A cottage with the right English atmosphere. Just what we were looking for.

  • 4 of 5

The location of the cottage was the right base for our holiday, as we had the themes “Midsomer Murders” and “Postman Pat” style of England, for what we wanted to experience. The cottage itself provided exactly the feeling we had hoped for, located in the nice village and with pubs around. The location was also ideal for excursions to many tourist destinations, Henley-on-Thames, Oxford, and Windsor, to mention some of them.

Perfect cottage for a getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was perfect ... clean, good-sized rooms and a big plus is having a bathroom for each bedroom.

Good location near Windsor and in a quaint little village with nearby pubs. Supermarkets are a short drive away.

Elaine was a good and attentive host. :)

Great location, quiet and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for five nights in May. Holyport is a lovely village that is so far not too affected by the urban growth of greater London yet allows good access to many sights/activities in the area. The cottage is immaculate with a large sitting room and well-outfitted kitchen. It is right next to a great pub and within walking distance of three others. The owner is very responsive and accommodating. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful country cottage retreat

  • 5 of 5

Spent three nights at this cosy cottage as a pre Christmas break with our daughters. The cottage was beautifully restored with quality furnishings, comfortable beds and situated in a lovely rural area.

We took the train from Windsor riverside direct to London Vauxhall and then into the city by tube. Station parking was reasonable and the 9.45 train was quiet getting us into central London in an hour, completely stress free.

We spent a day in Windsor visiting the castle and town and it was only a 15 minute drive from the cottage.

The cottage is well equipped, lovely and warm, especially with the log burner, and ideally situated within easy walking distance of 3 pubs .

We would love to revisit in the summer and explore this area further.

Many thanks to our excellent host Elaine for a great stay.
