About Gary Hall

Our family were born and bred in the North East and when this beautiful sandstone house close to the sea and promenade came up for sale we were lucky enough to purchase it.

Having spent many happy times at our caravan at Sandy Bay, Newbiggin by the Sea, (as have our holiday guests) we were very aware of the needs of holiday makers. Living close to the property we are able to personally manage Sandridge, in order to ensure our guests have a wonderful experience - we are friendly, helpful people and I assure you nothing is too much trouble. If you have any special needs we are happy to help.

Gary Hall purchased this house in 2015

Why Gary Hall chose Newbiggin-by-the-Sea

Our families ages range from 2 to 89, and the area accommodates the different needs. For example, the beach and park for the young ones, Newcastle City Centre for the lively night live, theatres, and shops, is only a short drive away. My husband and I, and my 89 year father particularly enjoy a stroll along the promenade, and the beautiful Northumberland Coast line, where you can visit Amble, Sea Houses, Bamburgh, Alnwick Castle and Gardens (Harry Potter), and see some breath taking scenery. The house is perfectly situated for exploring Northumberland.

Right next to a sandy beach, within easy reach of lovely places to explore provided the ideal property and location to holiday in. Whether chilling locally or returning from a day out the cottage was somewhere to return to, to relax and wind down

Perfect home from home

  • 5 of 5

Took my father, who is 87, back home to Newbiggin-by-the-Sea to spend time with family. House is extremely well equipped, there is a welcome basket full of goodies and fresh cake in the tin for your arrival. Everything you need is there for you including coffee, tea, chocolate biscuits and milk.

It’s very comfortable, bright and clean. 2 bathrooms is a real bonus, the kitchen is well stocked, there’s even a back yard with a table, chairs and sofas to make the most of a little sunshine.

You couldn’t get nearer to the sands and it’s only a few minutes walk to the co-op and the local bakery for supplies. If you’re not from Northumberland get a stottie from the bakery and fill it with pease pudding, for me that’s a true reminiscence of childhood.

The Indian restaurant is very good, well priced and less than 5 minutes walk.

If you are planning a trip to Northumberland I recommend Sandridge, you’ll to be delighted you stayed there!

Perfect cottage for a beach holiday

  • 5 of 5

Family holiday, perfect cottage for a beach holiday. Views of the sea from all rooms and when you step outside the front door, you are yards from a beautiful sandy beach.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely review. One thing we find particularly enchanting is that Newbiggin by the Sea has the longest promenade in Northumberland, which we have walked on many, many occasions. Also, this spring/summer a school of dolphins has been seen in Newbiggin Bay. Also, if you have never seen the county of Northumberland before, it is certainly well worth a visit. many wonderful locations to visit, such as Amble, Seahouses, Warkworth, Alnwick castle and Alnwick gardens (if you have children take their swimming costumes as they can play in the water fountains).

A very welcoming home, good location and really enjoyable holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a brilliant stay at this property which was a great gateway to the Northumbrian coastline. We stayed a little further south in Northumbria than normal but it provided us with the opportunity to visit some new areas including the fantastic Belsay House and Castle. We also enjoyed visiting the Priory at Tynemouth which contained the graves of 5 pirates which the children enjoyed finding. Overall, the house was really well equipped and just right for our needs. It was so nice to hear the sea at night and being close to the beach which very special.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the lovely review. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back in the future. The house is very close to the beach and as you say a gateway to many endearing places in Northumberland and North Tyneside.

Charming and delightful cottage.

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we first entered we were so impressed with this lovely stone cottage. Everything was spotless, and beautifully presented for a Christmas visit, there was even a basket of Christmas gifts for us. Our hosts were so helpful, and even offered to get some basic supplies for us as our plane landed late in the day. Everything we could possibly need was already thought of, and I cannot say enough about how warm and comfortable the beds were too. The views to the sea on both sides of the cottage were lovely, and the beach was just meters away. Thank you Gary and Dorothy for helping to make our Christmas so perfect.
