This new development by award winning developer MGM provides you with a very comfortable base to explore the Chamonix valley. Located in the rural village of Taconnaz - approx 2km from Les Houches and 4km from Chamonix. All rooms in the apartment have been finished to a high standard in modern Savoyarde style furniture with a mixture of solid timber, plastered walls and tiled floors.

The lounge has a wood burning stove, L-shaped sofa, dining table, free Wi-Fi, Playstation 3, DVD player, iPod compatible music speaker & British Freeview satellite TV. Fully fitted kitchen incl. fridge, dishwasher and speed cook oven. It also has the convenience of a washing machine for longer stays. The balcony overlooks a large garden and offers magnificent views of Aiguille de Midi & Mont Blanc. Parking and a ski / boot store in underground car park / basement.

You're immediately on the doorstep of some great valley walks as well as easy reach of the slopes & towns - both bus and train stops are within a short walk

Skiing Information: Chamonix provides skiing for all abilities with nursery slopes at Le Savoy, Les Planards and Les Chosalets, however it is ideal for the intermediate and advanced skier. The intermediate runs will provide excellent groomed pistes, trails and mogul fields. For the expert skier there is limitless off piste skiing and some of the steepest and most challenging runs in the Alps including the awe-inspiring run down the Vallee Blanche with mountain guide. We can put you in touch with one of the valleys best guides whose English and instruction is excellent.

Perfect

Second time staying at the apartment and felt like home, great if you are a family and driving. Came back at half term this year and missed being here due to parking , closness to the village and the facilities the apartment offers

Was really impressed with my stay at this property. Customer service was spot on - you were even provided with some basic groceries on your arrival. Apartment was only a 10 minute walk away from the local supermarket and restaurants and the free train/bus pass you were given made getting about so easy. If you like walking there are endless signposted tracks on your doorstep - there are just so many things to do here I am sure you could enjoy repeat holidays for years to come. Am already planning my dates to book for next year. Would not hesitate to recommend this apartment.

Stunning location!

We stayed in this lovely apartment for a 9 day walking break. The apartment itself is just as described; it sits in an amazing position right at the foot of the mountains with a birds eye view of Mont Blanc from the balcony and also overlooking beautiful lawns. The sun is on the balcony in the morning so perfect for an al fresco breakfast! The apartment is very well equipped with all the home from home comforts you would expect (including the use of a washing machine - great if you like to pack light!).

It is possible to start walks from the front door but if you want to go further down the valley towards Chamonix and beyond I would recommend having your own transport in the summer as the bus service only runs once an hour.

If you need to book an airport transfer, our daughter used ChamVan to shuttle her to and from Geneva airport. They were very reliable and will do very early (4am) pick ups which many of the others don't (maybe because of low demand in the summer months).

We ate out a few times and really liked La Flambee near the main Chamonix railway station. The food was excellent and it wasn't touristy like the central Chamonix restaurants. Hotel Chris-Tal in Les Houches also serves good value food. We found everywhere quite quiet in June and cooked in mostly. The nearest supermarket, Super-U is only a 15 minute walk and is very well stocked. Their petrol is the cheapest too.

All in all this is a great base for an active holiday in the Haute Savoie!

A lovely place!

We had a wonderful holiday in this apartment! It was very clean, well equipped and the view from the balcony is fantastic. We loved being in the quieter village of Taconnaz/Les Houches and yet near to Chamonix with its shops, restaurants and activities. There are endless possibilities for walks (all really well sign posted) and the scenery is gorgeous at every turn. We hired a car which meant we could really explore the area, including lakes to swim in, waterfall walks etc and the Mont Blanc multi-pass is a must for seeing the Aiguille de Midi and Mer de la Glace but also to take the less busy cable cars/ski lifts to walks with amazing views of valleys, mountains and glaciers. Tom, the owner, was very helpful and gave us good advice for our time there. The tourist information office in Les Houches were also very helpful. Four of us stayed in the apartment, including two teenagers, and it was a great holiday. We would have no hesitation in recommending this place.

Excellent apartment

I stayed in this apartment with my boyfriend, dad and sister last week and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was as described and was immaculately clean. The directions provided to us by the owner were spot on and the apartment is so easy to find.

James was so helpful in answering any questions we had about the area.

I would highly recommend this apartment.

In relation to Les Houches, we actually never ate out there but went to The Kitsch Inn and Le Christiania bar near the Bellevue gondola for après ski. The food in Le Christiania looked very good though. I’d recommend a delicious and reasonable restaurant in Chamonix called La Flambée. They do a great set menu for lunch and in the evening.
