About the property

Pyrénées mon Amour

Small piece of heaven, far away from stress, in the hinterland of Perpignan, between Mediterranean Sea, Upper Pyrenees and the Cathars’ country.

Pyrénées mon Amour is made of 4 comfy cottages fully renovated. The decoration and furnitures are stylish, they mix classical and modern design but respect the spirit of the houses.

Each cottage is independent, has its own entrance and a terrace with an amazing view on French « garrigue ».

Cottages were built in promontory on a rock located in Felluns, small picturesque village of 50 inhabitants. The upper part of the cottage open on the charming Church’s place which dates back to the XIIth century. You can move freely and let children play in the whole village, in total safety, because there is no roads.

Discover the Fenouillèdes, an authentic and wild Mediterranean region. At a walking distance from the cottage, you can see the vineyard, the garrigue, dolmens, a Roman aqueduct, the lake of Caramany, ruins of medieval castle, magnificent panoramas.

A few minutes by car, you can visit exceptional sites such as: the Galamus gorges, the Synclinal of Saint-Paul, discover the rich heritage of the Fenouillèdes (Cathars’ castles, Romane’s churches …). Immerse yourself in the prehistory of humanity with Tautavel’s museum , visit the numerous wine cellars and taste the wines of the region (Côtes du Roussillon, Maury …).

Practice sporting activities such as canyoning, rafting, climbing, horse riding ...

Fenouillèdes "Far from everything, but close from everything"!

- in the east: the sea, its beaches (45mn), Collioure (1h15)

- in the south: the high mountain, the peak of Canigou, the Conflent (1h) and further Spain,

- in the West: the very rural High Valley of the Aude region (45mn), its Gorges, the Ariège region (1h30)

- in the north: the Cathars’ country, Cucugnan, the Bugarach, Rennes-le-château (1h), Carcassonne (2h)

Why Fabienne Wetterwald chose Felluns

My wish is to offer you serene holidays full of nice activities. I would like to make you discover this beautiful part of France, not well known and called Fenouillèdes. It is important to me to share with you my passion for this authentic region, far from mass tourism. My plan is to develop high quality service in respect of the environnement and a form of tourism based on cultural exchange. I want to give meaning to your holidays. I will look after your comfort and your tranquility and wish to share with you my historical and geographical knowledge of this part of France.

I live next-door, in an other cottage and I will be at your disposal during your stay. Starting from May/June, I will organise every week a french aperitif to welcome the guests. It’s always very friendly! Guests can order a basket of organic vegetables before arriving. Maps and hiking books are available. Price reduction are possible for certain activities in the region (Canyoning, horse riding, Via Ferrata, rafting). Felluns’ cave and the 12th century church can also be visited on request.

Comfortable characterful gite up in the hills

  • 4 of 5

This gite has superb views from a south facing balcony which would be a sun trap in good weather (we were unfortunate and had two unusually wet days out of four!). The cottage is small but there’s plenty of space for two people with comfortable twin beds and comfortable chairs in a sitting area. There is a very good modern shower in a wet room. The kitchen is quite well equipped with hob, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave/oven. There was a kettle for brits, and a coffee maker.

The village is quiet and attractive, with walks from the door.

Parking is 100 metres away at the entrance to the village. The cottage was a bit difficult to identify so it is a good idea to ring Fabienne on arrival.

Although it is remote it is only half an hour on decent roads to a main route whence many attractions: castles, wineries, restaurants, villages, gorges etc etc. We had poor weather but could happily have stayed longer, and might like to return, perhaps a bit later in the spring.

Excellent value for money! Thank you Fabienne.

  • 5 of 5

super calme!

  • 4 of 5

Merci Fabienne

Tout simplement parfait.

  • 5 of 5
