Sail or drive to my seaside home, my little piece of heaven on a peninsula by Scituate Harbor. Located across from the yacht club and shopping district. Relax on the beach, stroll to the stores, award winning restaurants, galleries, movie theatre and churches. Cruise on Scituate Harbor, whale watch anyone? Use my kayak, bike? Located 20 miles south of the best city in the world - Boston - and 20 miles north of Plymouth Rock, a historical gem - is a room with a view furnished with a queen size bed, fridge, micro, toaster oven, coffee pot and hi speed internet. Enjoy the views of my awesome community from the deck! Also close by is Wamputuck State Park, 1 of a handful of wonderful walking, hiking trails. The foliage in autumn is astounding! This is a 3 story home. Guest resides on first floor. My puppy and I live very quietly on the upper floors.

I also have another room with ocean view listed - it is on the second floor. This room does not have a private bath and/or efficiency setup. The cost is 100. night.

Longer stays are welcome.

About Marj

I am one of a handful of lucky folks that get to eek out a living as an artist. My main focus is glass melting although I draw, dabble in paint and am a metalsmith, and fiber artist as well. My main website is glassthingsdotcom. I live a small simple life here with my puppy Simon. We take long walks every day and have a lot of laughs.

Marj purchased this house in 1995

Why Marj chose South Shore Massachusetts

I have lived in town for 44 years. If you are looking for something I am pretty sure I can find it for you or direct you to it.

I had so much fun last summer sharing my home I thought we'd try this website too. I am a pretty busy lady and will be around as much or as little as you wish. You will be the boss of this!

What makes this house unique

We are pretty low key here. It is truly important to me my guests have a wonderful, and relaxing visit with us. Plus where else will you find the owner supplies fresh brewed coffee for you each morning and a little nosh!

Comfy and welcoming

  • 5 of 5

Our brief visit to Scituate (for a wedding nearby) was much more than we imagined. Instead of just reserving convenient lodging, we found ourselves immersed in this fun, comfy home. Marj and lovable Simon are such welcoming hosts. Their location is scenic, quaint, and relaxing.

Best Kept Secret in Town

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for my 30th reunion. Growing up in Scituate, I wanted to stay on the water or as close as I could get at an affordable price. The Owner Marj was such a fantastic person- very personable, friendly and accommodating. The Ocean view and constant breeze was comforting and there is nothing like the salt air. The house is Scituated (no pun intended) in a perfect spot for great walks with fantastic views literally steps from the lighthouse.

We really did not need to bring a thing. Everything you would need to enjoy a beach vacation was available; coolers kayaks and towels. Her home was clean and inviting.

I highly recommend this for a couple. We would love to return

Owner's Response: It was my pleasure to host Rich and Patty this weekend for Rich's special class reunion. It is always so fun to see Scituate through the lens of my guests! Patty and Rich are friendly, clean, quiet and appreciative guests that are a pleasure to have around. I certainly will welcome them back again!

Perfect Spot on the Beautiful Atlantic

  • 5 of 5

This property is located in an oceanfront neighborhood that is either a short drive or a long walk to a quaint downtown. The room is perfect for one or two people with a comfortable bed, a writing desk that looks across the street to the ocean and an easy chair that puts your head at just the right height to see the surf rolling toward you. We were there doing an exceptionally cold April week and our room, even with one window cracked open, stayed comfortably warm during the day. We took long walks on the beach which was literally steps away and walked along the harbor to the lighthouse. Staying at Marj's place gives you a chance to explore a hidden historic waterfront community which has weathered many a nor'easter in the past 100+ years. If you don't require a full kitchen (Marj provides a microwave, a mini fridge and a Keurig along with a wireless network) this is the perfect spot for getting away from it all. Marj, who has lived in the town for nearly her entire life, is a lovely hostess giving you as much privacy as you could want but readily available to answer any questions you might have. We had a great time and highly recommend her place,
