This home sits on a quiet street close to everything. The kitchen, deck, and Master Suite have commanding views of the lake through the pines and surrounding mountains, living room has a gas started wood burning fireplace as does the open kitchen and master suite, wood floors and carpeting 3 full baths and comfortable beds and linens. Walk to lake shore or to North Tahoe Regional Park, North Shore is family friendly and casual, all about walking, eating, boating, hanging out on the public beaches and exploring. In the Spring and Summer a short 5 minute walk downhill to private path straight to the lake front, or walk/drive to Kings beach, a great public beach with all the amenities. Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and NorthStar ski resorts are short drives in the winter, as is Tahoe City.
The home or 'Cabin' as we refer to it has been in the family since 1978. A place of refuge and relaxation for a large family. Lots of laughing, game playing, and boating along with snow skiing and hiking started here.
Lake Tahoe Accomodations purchased this house in 1978
The home was bought after the family spent many wonderful family vacations in the summer at Lake Tahoe. It was a special place for all to gather and play, this included learning recreational boating, water skiing, bowling, hiking and lots of Italian cooking. Sometimes even competition cooking! The 'Cabin' as the family refers to it was very special to Betty and Bud, Betty did lots of research to find just the right home and location in Tahoe. The cabin was also utilized in the fall and winter for Thanksgiving gatherings and snow trip for the avid skiers in the family, along with sledding and snow boarding.
Besides the stupendous views of the lake through the pines and the mountain range from the large deck, kitchen, and master suite, the location of this home cannot be beat. You can actually walk across Lake Shore Blvd to a private trail that takes you to the lake's shore. This path is only for homeowners of the association and their guests. You can also walk down Idelwood Road (turn right) when leaving the home and walk to North Tahoe regional park via a dirt trail. There you will find playground equipment, baseball diamonds, trail heads and picnic facilities in the spring and summer, and sledding and snow mobile rentals in the winter months.
Grocery shopping is only a couple of miles away at a 24 hour Safeway, so no need to haul up your food.
You can walk down the hill for an ice cream scoop at Cable Car Ice Cream. There are several wonderful restaurants close by, would recommend a car so not walking after dark.
Any of the Marinas offer boating opportunities, whether you rent for a couple of hours or a day. Usually a Crafts Fair in the Spring and Summer at Kings Beach. If you feel like gambling Incline is close by, probably a 15 minute drive. Snow skiing is also close by at North Star, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows.
Its literally moments to Kings beach to the left on Lake Shore Blvd. or turn right and you are in Carnelian Bay and Tahoe City before you know it. Great dedicated paved Bicycle trails take off from Tahoe city, you could also raft down the Truckee River.
