We enjoyed our stay in the cute little hillside house. It was a short but somewhat steep walk into town, 5 minutes down. The owner was very nice, molta gentile, and quick to respond to any questions or needs. The weather was warm but a small fan in the bedroom helped us to sleep. It was also nice to have a washer and drying rack provided. Thank you Luciana!
Great location and view with really helpful owner
A really well located apartment with fantastic views of the Gulf of Orosei. Every thing you need is there although there's not enough hot water for a really long shower so if more than 2 people you'll need to sort out a rota!
Well worth the trip and highly recommended.
Immaculate apartment with a breath taking view
The apartment was immaculately clean and well maintained. It was within easy walking distance of the town with a good selection of restaurants and shops and close to the port for trips to the bays. Luciana was very helpful and friendly, meeting us on arrival and contacting us during our stay to check everything was ok. The bedrooms were situated at the back of the apartment, which was very quiet. The balcony was big and the views of the sea and the mountains were beautiful. We had a lovely family holiday with our 2 young children (8 and 4). We would not hesitate in recommending this apartment for a peaceful family holiday.
Une terrazza con vista splendida
Abbiamo passa to una bellissima settimana a Cala Gonone
The town of Gonone is rich in archaeological monuments that show how it was inhabited in the Nuraghic period, then Roman and Byzantine. Among the monuments that can be met for an interesting tourist excursion of Sardinian history enthusiasts is the Nuraghe Mannu that arose in the nuraghic era, now dominating the country from above.
The Gulf of Orosei is dotted with infinity coves and unrivaled beauty beaches that undoubtedly contributed to the celebrity of this stretch of coastline. Most of the coves can be reached by sea or by tiring, but really enchanting, trekking routes. From Cala Gonone it is possible to organize boat excursions to the beautiful Cartoe, Cala Ginepro, Cala Fuili, Cala Sisine, Cala Mariolu, Cala Goloritzè. The enchanting Cala Luna, reachable only by sea, or by footpaths that can only be walked to the north by a pond originated by the Rio Coula de Ilune and to the south by a series of large caves opening in the rocky wall that closes it behind.
Some of the bookable excursions include a visit to the Bue Marino cave. It is one of the largest and most suggestive caves in Sardinia: 5 Km long galleries wind through the cliffs. The name comes from the common denomination given to the nun seal.
The limestone views of the sea and mountain supramonte have made Cala Gonone and Dorgali one of the most popular destinations for sport climbing. The climbing can be carried out on different routes, equipped and not, with varying, overhanging or plaque difficulties and varying degrees of exposure. The best time for climbing is spring and autumn, but this sport can be practiced all year round thanks to the climate mitigated by the sea.
