|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
This secluded and cozy tri-level condo is in the Villas development one mile from Tahoe City. It has 3 bedrooms and a loft, with 2 bathrooms, and sleeps 8 people.
Downstairs are two bedrooms with a queen bed each, and a shared bathroom with tub and shower. At the entry level is another bedroom with a queen bed and bathroom with shower. The beds are dressed in crisp cotton sheets with fluffy down comforters and pillows. Half a flight upstairs is the living and dining room, kitchen and deck. The living area is open to the loft above, which has 2 twin beds. The loft is accessible by a sturdy, built-in ladder (probably not be suitable for very young children, but perfect for older children and teens to have their own space ).
The living area has a wood burning fireplace (with firewood), a fully equipped kitchen, and a BBQ on the deck which is peacefully situated in the pine trees with a smidge of a view across the lake. Other amenities include wifi, cable HDTV, beach and picnic supplies, washer/dryer, and an array of games and books.
At the entry to the Villas (a 2 minute walk from our unit) is a bike/walking trail to town and points beyond such as the trail along the Truckee River or along the lake to Sugar Pine Point. Ski areas such as Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Homewood are about 15 minutes away. Tahoe City has many fine restaurants, shopping and museums. Local beaches and parks such as Skylandia Beach and Tahoe City Commons are a short distance by foot, bike or car. There is a weekly farmer's market at the Commons, as well as music and activities on summer holidays.
The Clubhouse at the Villas has a lovely pool in a park setting with tall pines, tennis courts, and a sauna, which is included for guests. You will find big fluffy towels for the pool in our unit.
We are strictly a non smoking unit, do not permit loud or raucous parties, limit the number of people staying in the condo to 8 or less, and ask that you respect our place as you would your own. Pets are permitted only after discussion with us.
We are happy to share our recommendations for activities and answer any questions you may have about Tahoe. We hope you will be comfortable enjoying lovely Tahoe while visiting our condo.
This property is a great find. We needed 5 beds for myself and 4 teenagers and this home was perfect. Obviously the owners care about the home as a rental unit, the bedding was great and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. The owner was very easy to work with and I booked last minute. The fireplace is lovely, the location just outside of Tahoe City is great. The condo development roads, driveways and walkways were well maintained during a huge snow storm. I will certainly be booking this condo home again.
The property is clean, well maintained and appointed. The description on line is accurate. The owner is most responsive and answered all our questions. When the internet connection went down, not her fault, she was on the line with us immediately after we texted her and stayed on until the problem was resolved. I would recommend this property without question. We did have trouble finding the place as the GPS in our car as well as the Google Maps GPS does not recognize the place. The owner gave us instructions from the location our GPS gave. One suggestion: the loft area, with 2 beds is a fine space but as access is by ladder from the dining area, not by stairs, it would be limited to those confident enough to use that system. It could be tricky descending to go to a bathroom in the night. Otherwise, a lovely condo and a great stay. We did not eat out but did enjoy snowshoeing at 3 resorts in the area. One note: this has nothing to do with the owner or property: this booking site has charges that are too high, especially for short stays. would not book through them again. would return to property.
Not a bad price but only one bathroom for four bedrooms. Downstairs bathroom area heat does not work--absolutely freezing. Nothing has been upgraded whatsoever probably since the 70's. Condo complex was quiet.
We were two, over 75 years old, women, who felt comfortable in this well organized condo. Directions were clear and the owner responsive to questions. I used the club swimming pool and it was clean and well kept up. Beds were comfortable and coverings adequate for the cooler fall weather. We loved looking out at the trees surrounding the complex. I would recommend this condo for families with older children because of a high loft accessible only by ladder.
Really felt like it was our "home" for the weekend. We were very pleased with this property and would love to come again! The owner provided us with instructions, directions, and recommendations. Nice property - made us want to consider having a vacation home in Tahoe :) Thank you for a great stay!
We four adults enjoyed our time here. There was good privacy for us all. The 2 full baths made it convenient for us. It was well stocked in the kitchen also. We appreciated having towels for the pool and towels along with a blanket for the beach. There is a small cooler and other items a day at the lake might require. The internet was excellent, sometimes there were 4 of us using it with no problems. The TV had many, many channels for entertainment. There are board games and even books.
The owner Carolyn was very responsive when I wrote to her and truly cares about making the visit worry free.
There are so many great place to go and to eat nearby. PDQ for sandwiches, Sunnyside on the patio lakeside & Bridgetender outside by the river, The Dam cafe for the breakfast burritos, and the Firesign cafe. Squaw Valley is only 12 minutes away and has a gondola to the top where you can swim, rollerskate, hike and enjoy a meal. Emerald Bay and Vikingsholm are about 20 minutes away.
