Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Provincetown - Ptown Dream House 2

Stunning 2 bd/2 bath on Commercial w/front patio, charming brother to #666767

Gorgeous newly renovated Ptown 1830s antique with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. One king and one queen size bed. Pull out sofa bed in living area.

This is the well known house at the corner of Commercial and Whorf's Court (sometimes called 'Whore's Court') with the white picket fence in front and the bright yellow double front doors across from the Coast Guard parking lot.

Unobstructed people viewing from front patio! There is no better people watching (;-) in Ptown. Talk (ahem) to people as they go by. You can also people watch from inside the cottage with blinds half way up or half way down. Just don't forget that if you can see people..... they can see you. :-p

This is Unit 2 in our 2 family home. It is adorable. 750 square feet of comfy retreat to relax and unwind... and contemplate, well, the boys, the sand and the sun.

Unit 1 is also a 2 bedroom 2 bath that is larger at 1500 square feet on two floors with water views and a private rear deck, designer everything and lots of fabulosity. It is available for about 25% more. for more information check out the listing at http://www.vrbo.com/666767.

The pictures will speak for themselves but a few things the pictures may not capture:

Secrets why you won't ever want to leave this house...

- The location is perfect not just because you can roll down the street from Tea Dance in about 60 seconds or less... and not because you can sit and watch and talk to all the hottest Ptown guys on their way to and from the beach every day... it is perfect because in the height of summer when town central is crazy packed with people and everyone and everything seems loud and festive, just about 250 yards from this house everything gets suddenly quiet and you're reminded why Ptown is so magical.

- The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make a meal for yourself or a small group. The knives are professional grade and sharp. I didn't know how difficult it was to find sharp knife in a Ptown rental until a very particular guest let me know how thrilled they were to find sharp knives. If your boyfriend, or better yet your husband, starts shopping for Ptown rentals based on how sharp the knives are, let someone know where you'll be and to come looking in case they don't hear from you.

- Continuous, never ending, infinite amounts of super hot water. You can run the dishwasher, a load of whites in the washer, shove three people in the master shower and 2 in the guest shower, and wash those nice sharp knives in hot soapy water in the farmers sink in the kitchen... all using water hot enough to scald at the same time. NO MORE TIMING your showers, staggering them throughout the day. This is a tankless hot water system. Instant hot water. Always. So when your roomate, or better yet your husband, comes home at 2:30am and takes a shower before getting into bed with you claiming that they took a night time shower so that you would have all the hot water you need for your morning ritual, you can tell him that won't be necessary anymore. NOT NOW THAT YOU HAVE TANKLESS HOT WATER. :-)

- There is a gas fireplace in the main living area. This is for all those single guys out there who want to make a nice romantic dinner for someone they met on the beach. It gets so freaking hot in the living room with it on clothes will have to come off.

- The wood floor is 5" distressed hickory. It is hard as a rock. So go ahead. Get dressed up and practice your runway walk in those Jimmy Choos you've been dying to try out before wearing them out to Drag Bingo. The floor will never show the heel marks.

- European style split duct A/C puts cool where you want it when you want it.

- A SONOS wireless sound system provides music via ceiling speakers in the living room and in the master bedroom. And you can play different music in each room. That way you and your husband can go to sleep to the dulcet tones of something from Anita O'Day while your best single friend from college keeps the energy up and his groove on in the living room with a little JT. (Please say you know who JT is. If you don't I probably cant rent to you.)

- 2 beds/baths but 3 TVs. Go crazy.

- Stacked washer and dryer. Of course if you pack like most of my friends do for Ptown with only a swimsuit, a pair of jeans, daisy dukes, and a worn out gray tank top its unlikely you'll need the Washer and Dryer. (And if my friends are reading this... get some new clothes. You're not 19 anymore.)

- Linens are all Egyptian cotton products, cotton sateen 600, 800 and 1000 thread count sheets (Its not only about thread count). Egyptian cotton thick and soft but super absorbent towels. And yes, I have my membership card. Its expiration date just says 'eternity.'

- The front patio is terrific for hanging out and watching the parades go by (official and unofficial).

- Walls are painted a lovely neutral light and warm greenish gray. I think it evokes a sort of back to nature, outdoorsy feel. My husband picked it out but most seem to love it anyway. Especially lumberjacks.

About Bill Martin

Partnered to a hot blooded venezuelan for 16 years... married for 13 of those years we came to Ptown to tie the knot legally on June 1st 2004 and have been coming ever since.

This picture is of me and our dog Mabelle, a Shiba Inu. Obviously she won't be here when you are!

We also live in NYC though I spend most of my time right here in Ptown planning my big sailing adventure. My husband spends most of his time in NYC. Modern Family in action. (I'm determined to sail around the world by the time I'm 50... or at least get it started by then.)

Bill Martin purchased this house in 2009

Why Bill Martin chose Cape Cod

We knew this was the right property when we saw it from the outside...and then really saw the potential when we walked in. It was much bigger inside than it appeared, right on the water, on Commercial street but just a hundred feet out of the crowds, in the West End but the near West End.... what wasn't to love?!?! Except for the three years of renovation hell we had to deal with.

What makes this house unique

You can spot a hot guy walking his dog at 7am from the sofa and be in the front patio pruning the rose bush before he passes by the house. Heck you can just sit on the indoor sofa and yell at him out the window. Of course, he'll think you're crazy.

That pretty much says it all.

Oh... and the sunrise and sunset light watched from the patio in front... you won't want to leave.

I mentioned a lot in the main description but I will say again.... Love is... TANKLESS hot water. It means never having to say you're sorry.

Provincetown Comfort

  • 5 of 5

Unit was very comfortable in an excellent location. At times we forgot that the property really wasn't ours as we regarded it as to coming home. The bathrooms were well appointed. There were absolutely no negatives. Would definitely return to this rental.

Fantastic Place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week staying at this fantastic property. We were met and welcomed by the owner who gave us lots of useful information about Provincetown. The property was all it was described to be and provided us with a great base for the week. The property is in an excellent location - near to all the activity, yet quiet and relaxing.

The property was sparkling clean with everything that you need for your stay.

Highly recommended!!!
