Garrett and Laura moved to Winter Park shortly after they were married and both found employment in the Central Florida area. They were immediately taken with the charm of Winter Park, especially the historic College Quarters area surrounding Rollins College, as it is nestled among tall oak trees with views of Lake Virginia. They found their dream home, a 1925 bungalow, and over time welcomed 4 children into their family. As their family grew, so did their need for a larger home. Unwilling to say goodbye to their first home and their wonderful neighbors, Garrett and Laura decided to enter the world of vacation rentals until they can one day return to the house they love so much. Their hope is that you too will find this bungalow and this neighborhood to be a special place to stay!
Margie Bridges purchased this cottage in 1997
Only two blocks from Park Avenue, this historic bungalow home is perfectly situated for all of your vacation needs! Stroll the Avenue and its unique boutiques, dine al fresco at one of the many delicious restaurants, relax in Central Park, take a ride on the Scenic Boat Tour, shop the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings, or enjoy a night of entertainment at the local Cineplex or playhouse. Visitors to Rollins College will enjoy the convenient one block walk to campus. This home is also conveniently located to Downtown Orlando, the brand new Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Amway Center, and Citrus Bowl. If theme parks are your thing, you can be to Sea World, Universal, and Disney within 30 - 45 minutes. Beach lovers will appreciate the proximity to New Smyrna and Cocoa Beaches.
This charming home has been renovated with all the modern conveniences but still maintains its historic charm. It is located on a quaint street that runs into beautiful Lake Virginia, part of the Winter Park Chain of Lakes. Walk down to the lake to take in a glorious sunrise! The surrounding neighborhood is perfect for long walks and runs. At dusk, let the screened in front porch call your name to enjoy a glass of wine or head out to the side patio and fire up the grill for dinner. On cold nights, light a fire in the fire pit and enjoy the stars above as you snuggle up with your special someone.
We rented this lovely home for our sons graduation from Full Sail University. We really enjoyed our stay and wanted a home close to downtown winter park. We brought our bikes and road downtown to restaurants and around the lake in the evening. This home is very comfortable, equipped and in a quiet area! We hope to be back someday! Enjoy!!
We traveled to Florida to find a few days of respite and renewal following my battle with breast cancer, and that is precisely what we found in this charming and well-appointed bungalow! From the moment we arrived, greeted by Margie's warmth and kindness, to the moment we left we felt truly at home. Winter Park is a remarkable destination if you appreciate experiencing the "real" life of Florida. You can amble along and feel like a local for a few days, but we were happy to relax at the house (coffee on the screen porch was a ritual) and just unwind. We will absolutely be back, and with lots of friends who enjoy a more "grown up" approach to Florida vacations, we will recommend this home (in fact, we already have!!) Thanks for helping us make a special time all the more special!!
Our family enjoyed a wonderful long weekend in this adorable Cottage with all the modern conveniences. It's the perfect location; an easy walk to town. Large comfortable bedrooms, two great seating areas to congregate inside and a cozy, screened front porch. The kitchen was well appointed, everything we needed was provided. We will definitely be back!
Starting with a "welcome" visit from property manager Margie, and through the entire visit, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Fully stocked house. Can cook gourmet-style "in" if you choose, or a just take a very short, pleasant, and safe walk to the dozens of places in Winter Park. Unless you are going to Disney or one of the other parks, no car is needed here! (We "Uber-ed" back to the house from the grocery store.) There were just two of us, but the place has two king beds, two full baths, and plenty of space for kids to sleep on couches or on sleeping bags. Fast internet. Clear instructions on how to use everything was extra helpful.
We will be back again for sure!
Clean, beautiful, had needed supplies, latest technology with smart tvs. Short Walking distance to park ave shops and restaurants. Margie quickly responded to any questions. My husband and I stayed and my sister joined us for a couple days. This worked out well with the 2 king size bedrooms. We will definitely stay again when visiting my parents.
We were looking for a place to stay in Winter Park, that was not a hotel and that was close to Rollins College because we planned on staying for several days after dropping our son off at school. The pictures do not do this home justice!!! It was immaculate and so homey feeling. It has all of the comforts of home plus all of the quaintness and character that a home like this would be expected to have in the heart of Winter Park and literally just a few minute walk to Rollins College campus. We thoroughly enjoyed the location and all that Winter Park has to offer. We spent several evenings walking the neighborhood, enjoying the beautiful homes as we strolled along the beautiful Lake Virginia. This home is perfectly located to get to everything such as great restaurants and shopping. My son is a student athlete, playing baseball at Rollins, so we plan on making this home, our "home away from home" when we frequent the area to watch his games. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and they made it convenient to check in and out. We will certainly be back!!
