Your apartment, luxurious and quiet, is composed of a living room with south-facing picture window with two sofas, including a comfortable sofa bed, armchairs, chairs, table-desk, TV, Wi-Fi, telephone, CD player. Magnificent fully equipped kitchen: oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge in front of a grill opening on the living room. Bedroom with south-facing picture window with large double bed, one bathroom in roman style, toilet, bathtub, shower. Laundry room with washing machine and clothes lines. Guests toilets.
Loved this apartment so much! The apartment was so clean. The bed and couch were very comfortable. Had everything you would need and then some. Even comfy robes and slippers. We loved coming home to this apt. Theresa and her son Joel were so helpful even though they did not speak English found it very easy to communicate. We could not figure out the tv at first and Joel would always come and program it for us. I brought the wrong charger for my phone and Theresa lent me her personal charger. The Marais neighborhood is so lovely. We brought our 9year old granddaughter and we would have a picnic in the park (place des Vosges) and she would play on the monkey bars and swings. We picked up chocolate croissants at a nearby bakery for our breakfast. There is a cafe right next door that is very good. We got to meet Elisabeth before we left and she was so nice and helpful. The steps to the shower were odd but everyone seemed to mention it so we were aware and did not have a problem with it. I cannot say enough about this apartment. I can't wait to go back!
As other reviewers have stated the location of Elisabeth's lovely apartment could not have been better for this traveler. Cafes, bakeries, markets, were steps away from the front door. Super clean, uber comfortable bed and couch, overall roomy space, great wifi...all one could want for in a home away from home!
My husband and I just returned from a month stay in this beautiful Marais apartment. The apartment was very clean and has a full kitchen with everything you need including a table with 4 chairs, a large living room, a roomy bedroom with a queen size very comfortable bed and a good sized bathroom, as well as a half bath. All in all, ample room for the month stay. The pictures depict it well.
Elisabeth, the owner, was very accommodating to our needs and easy to work with.
We found a wonderful bakery about 2 blocks away, a regular and a "natural" grocery within 2 blocks, a Thai massage a block away, and many fine restaurants and cafes in the area, one right next door.
The one downside was that the bathtub was difficult to get down into after going up several steps to get there. We were very careful and got used to it after awhile.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone for a long or short stay.
Apartment is in a good location, comfortable and for the most part quiet. WI-FI worked fine and kitchen was suitable and easy to use. The courtyard is a nice plus and the tiny elevator is helpful for loading suitcases. The only reasons I cannot give it a 5-Star is the master bathroom which is a liability attorney's dream come true. The design involves a "cat walk", a sunken tub and polished floors that turn into a skating rink when wet. I suffered a fall a week before and was happy to see a hand rail getting into the tub/shower, but the remodel design is ill-conceived. We were greeted by a friendly manager who didn't speak any English, so there was confusion. My Spanish came in handy somewhat since she spoke Portguese. Still, since there were no written instructions (Landlords you really need to do that) which tell you the closest place to buy groceries, pharmacy, and closest metro, we wasted time searching for items we needed. We were both recuperating from the flu, so our energy levels weren't great.
Despite all this, we would recommend the place unless you have balance issues or aren't agile. It is very Parisian and we absolutely loved The Marais neighborhood.
Do go to the best chocolatier in Paris nearby: Josephine Vannier's at 4 Rue du Pas de la Mule, a few blocks from the park.
Once you pass through the heavy street door, down a wide passageway and into the large courtyard, you leave the noise of the street behind and enter a world of green calm. The owner, M. Amsallem was extremely welcoming and obliging and really couldn't have been more helpful. The normal check-in time is 4.00 but we were able to take possession at 1.00 p.m. We were also able to leave our luggage with the concierge on the last day so we could have another few hours of sight-seeing after officially vacating the flat. The flat itself is light and airy, with high ceilings and tall windows with views onto the side street . It had everything it promised from the website. Lovely bathroom, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed The area is one of the nicest in Paris and not crowded with lots of tourists. There are masses of places to eat and there's even a good restaurant beside the front entrance, a boulangerie for superb breakfast croissants (and lots of other tempting patisseries) about 2 mins further on and a small supermarket about 5 mins away. The Marais has lots of museums almost on the door step but just wandering around the streets, looking at the architecture and the shops is a pleasure in itself. I really can't imagine anywhere better to stay in Paris.
This was an great find. The apartment was very comfortable (the extra 1/2 bath really makes a difference), and all the arrangements were handled with ease. Elisabeth is very straightforward and nice to deal with. Great location. We were delighted with our short stay and would definitely return.
Only advice: someone who is not good with stairs should probably avoid. It's only on the 2nd floor and there is an elevator, but there are four steps in the main bath that might be a problem for someone who is not stable on stairs. (we didn't mind at all)
