l Casone is an original Ligurian country house from the 18th century, tastefully restored by its French-German owner in spring 2006. The 2-storied building in the midst of olive groves with look over the valley and at a baroque church has two independant units: Piano Nobile 2-5 sleeps and Piano Sportivo 2-4 sleeps. Each unit has an independant terrace and a garden. The property is surrounded by 850 m2 of 'fasce' with typically Ligurian dry walls. Secular olive trees, various fruit-trees and a vegetable garden with a herbal corner are a balm for eyes, noses, ears and last but not least also for the stomach.
To reach Il Casone you have to leave your car at the mainroad and climb up on an old paved stonepath for about 3 minutes. This may be annoying at first sight, but you will see: it´s a stairway to heaven!
The unit piano nobile (50 m²) encloses a tastefully furnished kitchen-living room with natural stone walls and a chimney. Direct access on the southern terrace with pergola and look on the whole valley. The kitchen in ligurian style with marble and antique tiles is the right place to specialize on italian cuisine. In order not to loose the contact to the word satellite-TV with CNN and MTV for the youngsters. An inside stair leads to the first floor with a beautifully designed Pellet stove with open flame view that enlightens the antique furniture and paintings. A comfortable double bed, a doublebed divan and a singlebed divan await you for restoring nights after a full day of sightseeing. In addition a bathroom with a shower cabin and a bidet and a separate entrance that leads on a small eastern terrace with a lot of morning sun.
Just relax in a beautiful surrounding ...:
The country house ' Il Casone ' is ideal for a sporty-active vacation, but also for those who look for relax and contemplation. Due to the different located terraces everybody finds his personal place in the shadow or in the sun. Who wants to be active agriculturally, can work in the vegetable garden or in the orchard and can even try to harvest olives in order to get a very personal olive-oil. Cooking addicted people can prepare their own Pesto with in-house basil. Furthermore: crisp vegetables. At (rare!) rainy days the well equipped library lures with books in different languages. Feel free to feel at home in this enchanting 'coin' of Liguria is the wish of the house owner, a French German travel journalist.
