This was one of the most beautiful places, both the home and the area around that I have ever stayed in. The hosts were wonderful and gave us amazing tips of where to go and hike. They tailored it to what we wanted and we had such a wonderful time. The musical sound of the birds and the bells on the cows tinkling outside our place is something I still miss. The tranquility of the area and this home made for a romantic and restful time.

Authentic village life experience with exceptionally gracious hosts.

  • 5 of 5

We value authenticity and quiet, and found this apartment and its hosts simply delightful. It was a very memorable stay for us. Every aspect of the space is unique, having been adapted from its original purpose as corral space for cows. Time seems suspended and one can experience authentic village life, away from the bustle of Broto and Torla. Most importantly, Montse & Pedro welcome their guests into their lives, offering friendship, good advice on hiking, and even the fruits of the earth from their own garden. Although our Spanish is limited, we enjoyed a blissful evening on the patio with our hosts and another international couple who were in the adjoining apartment, discussing various aspects of life over a bottle of local wine. There is some noise from a youth camp below Oto, but it is mostly exuberant cheers, and with the windows closed tight, we slept very well. We hiked every day and retreated behind the apartment's thick stone walls for siesta. We cooked most of our own meals and found the kitchen sufficient. Broto offers a good grocery for fresh meats, produce & bread. Get good driving directions to the apartment from Montse before heading into the narrow lanes of the village.

This lovely property is exactly as described... Charming, cozy, peaceful, and surrounded by beauty. Pedro and Montse were wonderful hosts and it was evident from the craftsmanship of the dwelling and their attention to detail that they enjoy sharing their corner of the world with travelers. They shared eggs from their chickens and lettuce from their garden with us, along with excellent recommendations for hiking and dinner in Broto. I highly recommend visiting Oto and enjoying this wonderful escape"

Great home, hosts and village

  • 5 of 5

A highlight of time in Spain; Pedro gave great advice on where to visit, the home is unique and well equipped, Ordesa is world-class walking, Oto is a great little village without being touristy. Perfect, thanks Pedro and Montse.

Idyllic place for a chilled out experience

  • 5 of 5

This was a great experience from beginning to end, starting with Montse. She graciously answered our questions and made booking an easy and stress-free process. Once there it was like retreating into our own little hideaway, tucked beneath an old stone home. Charmingly renovated, with everything you'd need (including your own cave!), it's a perfect place to relax in nature and reconnect with your partner. The natural beauty surrounding the property is unparalleled. You'll wake to the sound of birds chirping and cow bells in the distance. I highly recommend!
