Wonderful

We had a great stay. Very close to town -we walked everywhere. The bus access to the slopes at the end of the driveway! The property was well appointed and we enjoyed the indoor pool/hot tub at the rec center. We'll be back.

We would stay here again

We had a very good experience staying here. The condo is a good value, efficient in layout, clean and came with detailed instructions. The beds were all very comfortable and we would recommend staying here.

One thing to note that is not the fault of the owner but the recreation center with pool and hot tubs, while new, was extremely crowded with lots of people from the neighborhood trying to soak and relax for apre ski. However, the rec center management locked the door to the outsid hot tub, limiting the number of places to soak.

This is a very clean, updated and comfortable place to stay for your vacation.

Lots of issues with this condo

This condo looks good in pictures, but beware, it is under poor management in our opinion.

The owner lives in Denver. There is no one locally to help if anything goes wrong. We were locked out on our check in day (keypad battery died) and had to wait 3 hours for the owner to come let us in.

The condo is also very noisy.

The building across the lot is under construction. There was banging and drilling at 7am every morning.

Also the condo is the first one on lower level so EVERYONE has to pass your front door to get to their condo. Snowboots and all banging as they walk by. Super noisy.

After we checked out- we put the linens in the washing machine. We emptied garbage from kitchen and left our bottles on counter for recycling (there were no recycling containers with trash area).

The owner took our security deposit for not leaving towels in the hampers and for leaving our recycling.

She sent pictures of a hole in the ceiling that she attributed to our stay as well.

And finally the owner charged us "finger smudges on the dishwasher".

We would not recommend this condo to anyone staying in the winter park area.

Owner's Response: We were surprised and concerned to receive this review, because we have strived to make significant upgrades to this ski condo and have always received 4-5 star reviews from all other guests that have stayed here. We take all comments from our guests as constructive criticism and gladly address their comments below: 1. The owner is in Winter Park before and after each stay by the guest to make sure the unit is in impeccable condition. Any item that is broken, stained, or not in proper working condition is immediately fixed or replaced. The owner is completely hands-on and maintains a short-term rental to standards far-beyond the average rental in Winter Park. 2. The owner identified an issue with the lock that has been brought to the attention of the Wink Company and to the Schlage Company. These companies have told the owner they are aware of the issue and are currently working on resolving the problem. The owner has gone ahead and taken the necessary steps to make sure this is never a problem again. The lock issue has been resolved. 3. The owner spent over $80,000 to renovate this unit. Over $8,000 was spent in soundproofing the unit as well. 4. There is construction along Highway 40 that is adjacent to our unit that should be finished by late Summer of 2017. This includes a new grocery store that will be within walking distance of our condo which we feel will be a big positive. Given this construction, there is not any significant noise within the interior of our unit. 5. The owner did not deduct any of this guest's damage deposit for leaving their recycling on the counter or for smudges on the dishwasher or laundry, but for actual damages to the unit caused by this guest. These damages included many gouges along the walls in the entry way, the hallway, and the bedroom and a hole in the bedroom ceiling. Our costs to repair these damages actually cost more than the deduction of the guest's damage deposit because we underestimated repair cost initially. 6. The majority of people visiting Winter Park during the Winter months are outdoor enthusiasts and are skiers and riders. They do wear ski boots when headed to catch the ski shuttle. We have never found this noise disturbing when inside our unit. 7. We have received very positive comments from other guests, w/ the exception of this 1 guest, that had a common thread:"best condo in Hi Country Haus", "perfect", "owner very responsive/professional", "great location","will stay again."

Beautifully remodeled mountain home!

Don't judge a book by its cover! Though the buildings are old, the owner has done a wonderful job remodeling the interior of this condo. Perfectly spaced for our family of six, this condo has an open floor plan that lends itself nicely to hanging out after a great day of skiing. The owner was very responsive to our inquiries, which we always appreciate. Lots of great storage space and hooks for skis, boots, jackets, etc. The condo was very quiet, and the shuttle to WP picks up just steps from the door. King sized bed was comfy and both bathrooms were beautiful. Plenty of room in all the bedrooms. The only reason I didn't rate it a five star stay was that the rec center wasn't completed. Not the owner's fault, to be sure, but we did miss a hot tub after skiing. That said, the condo is a two minute drive from Winter Park's amazing rec center. And we walked to Hernando's for a fun pizza dinner. Very convenient, and less than a ten minute drive to Safeway if you need to stock up on groceries. Definitely a great place to stay - thank you, FaFa, for sharing your mountain home with us!

Nicely appointed and well-located

My family rented this condo for a ski weekend and were very pleased. The condo is located in the heart of Winter Park, and is walking distance to a number of WP staples, like Hernando's. This condo is in impeccable condition, which is important for me and my family. I appreciate the owner's attention to detail. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
