We stayed at the house August 20 to 27, 2016, and the house could not have been any more perfect. We stayed there while visiting family in the area and the house far exceeded everyone's expectations. We 100% recommend this house and will definitely stay here again if available. I cant thank the Burgess' enough for their hospitality and kindness to open up this wonderful place to visitors.
One of the best vacations we have ever had. My husband and I spent a week at this property in August, 2016 with our two kids, ages 15 and 23. The house was beautiful, well equipped with all the comforts of home and clean. We enjoyed many activities in the Flathead Lake area: horseback riding, renting boats and wave runners, hiking in Glacier National Park, and zip lining. We also enjoyed just relaxing at the property and hanging out with the kids playing horseshoes, bean bag toss, badminton and relaxing by the fire pit. Many excellent dining, microbrewery and shopping opportunities in the area as well. The property owners were friendly and happy to help with whatever we needed, but gave us privacy. Our family will certainly be returning to Montana some time in the future and would definitely be happy to stay here again.
We had a family gathering at this lovely property. It was a wonderful home base for so many Montana adventures nearby - boating on Flathead Lake, horseback riding, hiking in Glacier National Park, tubing on the Swan River and strolling through art galleries in Bigfork. John and Becky's home is very clean and comfortable. It was nice to have access to all the amenities of home, including laundry. We particularly enjoyed the gorgeous yard and garden. Family members had fun picking raspberries, snow pea pods and green beans.......which were all delicious. I particularly enjoyed going barefoot in the beautiful grass. Last but not least, John and Becky were easy to work with and responsive to all our questions. It was a great experience!
What a great place! Really couldn't ask for anything else! We stayed for a week and honestly could have just stayed here the whole time. It is a little out of town which actually makes it more peaceful. It may add a little to your drive if you plan on glacier or whitefish but it is worth it. Just a magical place to stay!
John and Becky were both very nice and honestly it was like they weren't even there. Thanks again to both of you!
The Johnson Family
We chose this property to stay in with our two adult children because it's close to many outdoor activities including Flathead Lake, Whitefish and Glacier National Park. The home is very comfortable, clean and charming. The five acres it sits on are beautiful and very well maintained. The house had everything we needed including a gas BBQ and well stocked kitchen. The linens were fresh and fluffy with plenty of pillows on every bed. Entertainment options include many DVDs, a number of good books about the area (we really liked the Hiking Glacier book and used it to decide all of our hikes), a large screen TV with a good number of channel options and a smaller one in the Master, as well as several outdoor games, kayaks, and a fire pit. We didn't use the outdoor games or equipment as we spent most our time hiking and fishing and were worn out by evening! The deer came to visit every evening which just adds to the charm. The owners are easy to work with and pay a lot of attention to the details that ensure their guests are happy. One of the best things about this house and property is that it is very quiet and peaceful; no road noise, no city noise, no light pollution. Northwestern Montana is a beautiful place and this home fits right in.
My wife & 3 boys (12, 10, 2) arrived at the Burgess home greeted by the deer they picture. It was a welcome sign for me, being from this part of MT. It is difficult to convey in so few words, the degree of accommodation the Burgess family afforded us. Simply put, they were overly conscience to give us privacy, extremely helpful with all our questions, needs, & favors. Most importantly they embody the Montana Spirit. Wonderful people. Their home was ripe with unique identity and comforts for my family. If you are looking for a home that can create a feeling of scenery and relaxation, the home is it. We loved that there were two separate decks (via 3 separate entrances) to sit, view, and hangout. Every day we saw 4-8 deer roaming the yard. The yard, HUGE!! Great for the kids to play and explore. We also enjoyed the garden that was open for us to pick and choose what we would prefer to eat. We also utilized the kayaks, canoe, and float tubes. John was very helpful to assist us with securing them to our vehicle. They are also in great condition. Being from the area I was familiar with Flathead and the Swan water ways. Which are a must see for anyone who has not been to this part of MT. We did discover Loon Lake, no more then 5 minutes from the Burgess home, that was great for fishing, canoeing, and the kayak. Kids loved it. Inside the home things were flawless, clean, and simply made you feel at home within minutes of arrival. We did spend a bit more time inside the home then I imagined, due to the amount of smoke from all the fires in the west. On that point, that gave us unique point of view to the "feeling" this property brings to a family. It truly felt like our home. No other way to put it.
