Why Ralph Randall chose Whittier
We looked for a home away from home near the mountains of North Carolina. We visited all the surrounding areas, including Bryson City, Franklin, and Asheville. We are far from impulse buyers and after looking for months and months, we finally narrowed it down that we would look for property in Cherokee, North Carolina. It just seemed to be the right fit as we would be incredibly close to the National Park as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway. There's enough to do to keep you busy, but it is remote enough to actually make you feel like you are on vacation. We started searching for a chalet and even stayed at some vacation rentals in the area. After months of looking, we eventually purchased this property.
What makes this Cabin unique
We enjoy the view of the mountains from the cabin front porch. The cabin is located only three miles from Cherokee and eight-ten miles from Dillsborough/Sylva therefore everything is very convenient but is at the end of a private asphalt paved driveway and is very secluded from any other cabins or homes.

Great place to stay!
The cabin is roomy, clean. The kitchen was equipped with everything we need!
We enjoyed having you as our guest and hope you can return again. Thank you!
This cottage is roomy, clean, close to the National Park and Cherokee.
This is an ideal place to stay.
This cabin was perfect for our weekend get away. We stayed 4 days and rode our motorcycles throughout the area. The road and driveway were easily accessible for the bikes. The cabin was clean and orderly. They even had a list of local eateries on the table. Which helped us plan our evenings. I will definitely stay here again. Absolutely NO complaints!
We look forward to having you stay at our cabin again in the future, Thank you.
little bit of heaven
All the bedroom furniture was second hand , scratched and mismatched. The teflon pans were scratched and shouldn't have been used. The road was dangerous at any time if two car were to meet in opposite directions. We left after one night and went to a hotel in Cherokee. We will not rent from you again. This is not a five star rental. There were pages torn out of the guest book for comments.
It is unfortunate you did not enjoy your stay. This is a cabin not a chalet and is priced accordingly. All the beds box springs and mattresses are new and the bedroom furniture in the "antique theme bedroom" does not match due to the era it was built in. The driveway is recently repaved asphalt and there are only two cabins on this private drive and ours is the top cabin. The lower cabin is visible from the county road below so the odds of two vehicles meeting are zero. There is an adequate supply of stainless steel pans available for use instead of the Teflon coated pans. We will have our local person address the scratched pans which we were not aware of and the same for missing pages in the guest book.
This was such an ideal place to relax! The porch was a real enjoyment. The kitchen was equipped with everything I have at home and I was able to cook what I wanted so we didn't have to eat out every meal. The washer and dryer made it convenient to keep up with dirty clothes instead of having to haul a bunch of dirty clothes home with us. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We originally wanted to trailer our motorcycle and was told by Mr. Ralph that we would not have a problem turning our truck and trailer around there, but after being there and seeing how steep and narrow the drive is (along with the sharp turn before you reach the top) we were thankful we did not get to take it. We would not have felt safe on the driveway on our motorcycle. We did enjoy our stay even without the motorcycle, because we got to relax so much...outside, with the beautiful surroundings, as well as inside. We would definitely enjoy staying there again.
