About Lori Kennedy
We loved Lake Anna at first sight. We wanted a place where our children could build memories and spend time with family and friends. The property is 5 acres, so the kids have room to run around and explore. It's a great place to come and just relax.
Lori Kennedy purchased this House in 2005
Why Lori Kennedy chose Bumpass
When we built the house the children were young. We were looking for a lakefront property that had a gentle slope and a contained a shallow area for the kids to play in safely. We built the dock so that the young kids could wade in the shallow water while the adults could either swim or relax on the dock. We have a picnic table under a tree so we often have lunch right by the water.
What makes this House unique
The beautiful 100-foot beach. A covered boat dock. A privet boat launch at the end of the driveway. Grab bars in the master bathroom. Easy access to the lake, the lower level family room door is less than 30 seconds away from both the beach and the dock. 400 feet of waterfront to fish from. The layout of the house, in addition to the master suite, each set of two bedrooms has a separate bathroom off of a hall. A screened in porch to eat on. A fire pit beside the lake.
Gently sloping beach into a perfect swimming area

Amazing house for families
Lori is such a fantastic host. She even went so far as to purchase kid kayaks for our two young kids which they spent hours on touring the beautiful, peaceful cove during our long weekend at Lori's house. The pictures actually cannot do this place justice as to how perfect it is for anyone wanting to play in the sand or in the water, fish, cook on the firepit, etc. Basically anything outdoors is incredible here. There is no reason to venture away from the house. Lori even cut some wood for us before we arrived so that we could have a nice fire by the lake. The house was very clean, big and perfectly comfortable. We definitely plan on coming back. Our son said it best "daddy I never want to leave this house!" Thanks again Lori for great memories!
Great place to rent for enjoying Lake Anna
We had a fantastic stay at the home. Beauitiful lake views from most rooms. Large central living room for large gathering. really nice televisions on both levels and in the master. The bed in the master was super comfortable. Small point but the towels that were provided were large and fluffy. Fun space downstairs for kids. The house is closer to the lake/dock than other places we have rented which made it easy to get back and forth. The owners have ample life jackets and kayaks available for use. We brought our boat and appreciated the on site boat ramp. Check in and check out where easy. We hope to return to this property next year.
Great, secluded-feeling home to sprawl in!
Great house with plenty of both private and communal spaces for a big group to hang out in, inside and outside. Loved the beach, dock, and floats! Thanks for a great stay!
My 2 best friend and their families stayed with us it was the perfect house for all of us!! We loved it and so did the kids! We are already talking dates for next year:)
Lots of fun!
July 2019 Vacation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The children loved the private beach and swimming area. One afternoon an eagle flew in with a fish in the woods right past the camp fire area. We were able to watch him from the dock for quite a while. The children looked forward to kayak and paddle board rides every day and fishing was great too. The house was very comfortable and family friendly! The entire family votes for a return trip!
Wine Tasting, and a wine tour bus. Fabulous brewery, beer flights and growlers available. Many new restaurants and a hard cider mill w/music on weekends at one venue or another.
Monticello is about an hour away and always a joy to visit.
There are many Civil War sites in the area.
Charlottesville and the University of Virginia are about 50 miles away.
And really just playing in the water, puttering around on the kayaks and raft, having the kids fish off the dock, catching minnows, having campfires, making smores, and relaxing with a cool drink usually keeps us as busy as we'd like to be!
