Grenoble is a hub for business, commerce and universities with an attractive old town adjacent to the river and the Bastille (accessed by cable car). The apartments proximity to the mountains makes this a particular suitable location for those that like outdoor adventure but with the close proximty of city life.
The apartment is open towards the mountains and this was one of the main attraction for us to live here. Combined with the ease of cycling and access to the city by public transport it makes this a very easy and environmentally friendly place to live. We would also like to say that we have strong attachment to this apartment as our smallest daughter was born here and we have renovated it ourselves with passion and with mostly ecological criteria.
We stayed here for 2 weeks while my husband visited for a work trip in July 2016. We brought our 3.5 year old twin boys with us, who loved their little room. The beds were perfect for them. We brought our own portable side rail for the single, but the loft bed rail worked great.
We felt like we had plenty of space, and it really felt like a home away from home, rather than a temporary space. We never really figured out the tv, I don't think the cable is actually on, and there wasn't much in the way of broadcast tv that was good for the kids. It was all in French, which is totally expected and fine, but we didn't really find stuff that was kid appropriate. Thankfully, we came prepared with laptops, and the wifi did work great, so we were able to stream whatever we wanted (within the international copyright restrictions).
The yard around the complex was gated and perfect for letting kids run around. We bought a couple of balls at Monoprix and left them for future guests with kids. There's a train stop directly in front of the building, and it's also walkable distance to the town center and the river. There are many different parks and playgrounds within walking distance, and I was able to take my boys somewhere new to play practically every day.
All the windows look out to mountains, and I loved watching the sun set around them in the living room, where the two outer walls are all glass. We kept the windows open initially, but it got very hot the second week and I was happy with a/c. The daylight lasts much longer than we were used to, but every piece of glass has remotely operated blackout shutters. They were so amazing, and made getting the kids to sleep in the evening a cinch.
Overall, we'd stay here again in a heartbeat. It was just perfect for my family. It was clean, bright, well stocked, and the customer service was fantastic. So happy.
The apartment is in a well-kept block in pleasant surroundings with wonderful views of the mountains. Buses and trams to all parts of the city are only minutes away. The flat is spacious and well-equipped and safe for young children. It is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful city.

A very safe place, well furnished and with a view to die for.
Very spacious and our little toddler loved it too.
Not far from shops and restaurants.
Town centre is tram ride away.
Local farmers market only 500 metres away, under the railway bridge.
