About the property

3 Double Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, 6-7 People Can Sleep

Set in virgin countryside, in the north of the island, this 250yr old, completely renovated farmhouse, is a tranquil paradise waiting for you. The house is situated on a mountainside and has spectacular views over the valley of San Miguel, relax in a beautifully landscaped garden, complete with palm trees and even swings for the little ones. A combination of all the comfort you deserve while maintaining the original style and charm and tastefully decorated with items from Asia. Other features include swimming pool (10m x 4.5m), chillout with balinese bed, BBQ, garage, alarm GPS, home osmosis water filter system for drinking water, dishwasher, washing machine, drier, TV plasma 42', DVD and satellite, internet wifi access, Axa home insurance, cleaning facilities, garden and pool maintenance, private access. San Miguel village is just 5 minutes away (approx. 1.5 km) where you'll find 2 Supermarkets, 3 Banks, Post Office, and the closest beaches are Benirras and San Miguel Port.

Restaurants: Ibiza is full of marvellous restaurants and many of them are very close to the property. San Miguel has one of the best Italian restaurants on the island, you'll find 'La Luna Nell' Orto' in the village at the beginning of the road leading to the port. As already mentioned between the San Miguel Port and the close by Benirras beach you will find three very good fish restaurants. La Paloma, which has become extremely popular in recent years, is in San Lorenzo which is just 10 minutes away and Santa Gertrudis, which has a large range of bars and restaurants lies 10 minutes away in the other direction. Keep going and you'll find C'an Pau and then my personal favourite, with the delicious basque country cuisine 'Ama Lur'.

If it's typical Ibicencan dishes that you're after you'll find some of the best country restaurants on the San Juan road, Es Pins, Cana Pepeta, Balafí and Can Costa to name but a few, all are close-by and several offer good value for money while others are suitable for fine dining.

San Miguel is further residence to several artisans and a weekly artisan market on Thursdays. The famous UK Jeweller Natasha Collis also has her shop and studio up on the historic hill of San Miguel beside the church.

Generally the region of San Miguel is very suitable for many types of outdoor activities like swimming, snorkelling, hiking, water ski and more.

About Josep and Leah

We're an international couple: my wife is English and I'm native from the island, we have 10 years old twin girls.

We both, will try to do, the best we can, to make you enjoy the house and the beautiful surroundings.

Josep and Leah purchased this villa in 1992

Why Josep and Leah chose Sant Joan de Labritja (San Juan)

This original ibizan country villa and it's land has belonged to my family for generations, It's actually our home during 9 months per year and we only rent it when our twin girls have long school summer holidays, so it's not just a touristic villa, it's a real home. My grand parents house is just down in the valley.

What makes this villa unique

Nowadays, Ibiza has around 3 million visitors per year, but most of them come during the 2 summer months. So you can imagine how busy the island becomes, the traffic we have on the roads, the terrible parking, the little space that you find on the beaches, how busy the restaurants are, etc. But the place where we have this country villa is one of the last remaining original corners of the island, you won't realise that you're in the famous "Ibiza", you'll totally forget the busy traffic, the busy beaches or the queues wherever you go. This finca, located in a protected area, will give you the relax that you deserve.

There is wifi internet access so bring along your laptop if you can't bear to be completely out of touch with what's going on at home! The garden is fully equipped for young children, there's a slide and double swing. To fully enjoy the island it's definitely advisable to rent a 4-wheel drive car or a SUV (higher than standard cars), many of the beaches are accessed solely by bumpy dirt tracks, but any other car will do to.

Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic villa in amazing location. Incredibly quiet, close to nature with a stunning vista.

The house is homely and has everything you need. Rustic and traditional but tastefully designed. You have to travel up a gravel track to get to the property but we managed it in our estate hire car just fine.

Garden is lovely and full of home grown organic tomatoes and figs,

Josep and Leah (the owners) are a lovely couple and are very friendly and helpful - from booking us taxis and babysitter to changing light bulbs.

We loved our holiday and would recommend the property. We would like to go back!

Ibiza meets Bali met Marrokaanse stijlinvloeden.

  • 5 of 5

Great Property and fantastic hospitality

  • 5 of 5

The property is a lovely traditional Ibizian house, in the middle of the countryside with no real neighbours, a great pool and outdoor area with BBQ and large table. We stayed for a week and it was extremely enjoyable. Josep and Leah were very hospitable. In fact it is the nicest place we have stayed of this nature - we would definitely stay again next time we are in Ibiza.

Odas al Mediterraneo, a Ibiza y a Can Llusia

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful virgin countryside which can only be found in the north of Ibiza, the house is set in 5 acres (80,000m2) of private land, which is divided by the traditional and historic Ibizan terraces. The land has mainly olive, carob and almond trees. Immediately surrounding the house is an immaculately kept garden with bouganvilla and palm trees, there are also many fruit trees from orange, lemon, cherry and fig to pomegranate, apricot and plum to name but a few!

San Miguel village is 1 mile away, just 5 minutes by car or 10-15 mins walking, where you'll find all local amenities. Ibiza Town is approx. 10 miles away or 20 mins by car. Sta. Eulalia and San Antonio are also about 20 mins drive away.

The closest beaches are Benirras, famous for it's sunset drum parties, and San Miguel Port, both of which offer excellent fish restaurants. The Saturday Hippy Market 'Las Dalias' in San Carlos is a 15 min drive and the Cala Llonga golf course is an approx. 20 min. drive.

Golf: Roca LLisa Golf Course is only 13 km. away, in Sta. Eulalia, near Cala Llonga Beach resort. And in Sant Miquel Port you have 'Mini Golf'.

Ski: Water ski is available in Port of Sant Miquel Beach.
