Ideally located. A stone's throw from the Rialto Bridge and a fifteen minute walk from San Marco, the Residenza Valier is located in the most central part of Venice in an excellent location for visiting the most beautiful places in the city and living the atmosphere of Venice, with its characteristic restaurants and picturesque wine bars, especially in the evenings. 90 square meters apartment: 2 beautiful double rooms (possible to request separate single beds), a third pull out bed in one room, available sleeping sofa in the living room and a baby bed. TV and internet wireless in both the rooms. Large living room with new kitchen corner, double sink, fridge with freezer, plus a storage closet with dishes, pots and pans. Two bathrooms, one close to the first double room with shower, the second close to the second double room and the living room with bath tub and washing machine.
My name is Sabina, I have a University Degree in Italian Modern Literature and one in Oriental Languages (Chinese). I lived in Venice since twenty years. I settled down after travelling in Asia as a student and a journalist. I love Venice's human dimension and its exstraordinary beauty.
The Residenza Valier is located in the heart of one of the most famous and fascinating cities of the world, surrounded by buildings that date back to the distant history of the Maritime Republic, and it offers the refinement and the charm of a historic Venetian Town House combined with the comforts and convenience of accommodation furnished in contemporary style to make your holiday a wonderful experience. I was fascinated by this characteristic when I decided to buy it.
Located in the heart of Venice, in a very lively area, popular with Venetians for its famous market and picturesque “bacari” (wine bars), Residenza Valier is, however, very quiet. The main entrance to the building, which once belonged to the Valier family, leads to a historical setting with a large entrance hall and an imposing flight of stairs with original 16th century features. The entrance to the Residenza Valier is at the top of the stairs.
The apartment has been renovated recently bringing to light the beautiful wood beams, and the space has been divided in a way that not only gives privacy to guests – there are two spacious double bedrooms - but has permitted the construction of two bathrooms, a rare thing in Venice, one for each room.
The living area is comfortable, with a modern American-style kitchen and an inner corner with a fridge, a large sink and pantry. From the living room you can admire the little square below and the roofs of neighbouring houses. From the bedrooms you can see the wide street that runs along one side of the building and have a glimpse of Campo San Silvestro with its large church.
The whole apartment is very bright with the sun lighting up the rooms in the afternoon, making the place very warm and pleasant. Due to this Residenza Valier has none of the damp that often affects houses in the old part of the city. The decor is modern and is influenced by our passion for the East, reminiscent of the travels of Marco Polo. Of course you cannot miss that little touch of Venice in the selection of prints that decorate the walls.
Its strategic location, close to the most interesting places of art and means of water transport, and the combination of the ancient and modern contribute to Residenza Valier’s unique characteristics, offering guests the opportunity to spend a pleasant stay in Venice whether they come as tourists or on business.
Great apartment, Great location. Apartment is clean, well air conditioned, and really cute. We received great restaurant recommendations from our host, thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and would come again.
We were so fortunate to have found this gem of a place. Location couldn't have been better. Sabina met us and took us to her lovely place. Perfect size and all needed amenities were supplied. Balcony overlooking courtyard where we could hear the church bells tolling. You will not be disappointed if you want a centrally located home away from home.
Sabina was exceptional in her desire to see that we had an excellent stay!! She met us where we were (lost), saw us to her place, showed us her beautiful, exceptionally clean and well equipped apartment. She provided recommendations to enjoy the city, manage the public transit, where to eat and what to see. The apartment is located in the heart of Venice, and yet is in a quiet building. We highly recommend this location!
We were visiting Venice in May, stayed in this apartment for 3 nights. Location could not be better -- Grand canal and Rialto bridge just right around the corner, San Silvestro church -- literally 5 steps. Even though it is located in very popular district, we didn't hear any noise, it was nice and quiet and we could rest after long day of walking. You don't need a vaporetto pass (unless you want to experience vaporetto ride) because you can walk everywhere from here! Special thanks to Sabina: she really worked with us and helped a lot to get our luggage to us, it was left behind in Milan. She communicated with airlines every day and even stayed home to wait for delivery of our bags so we could go out and enjoy Venice and Burano island! We can't express our gratitude to her!
This place is ideally located with easy access to vaporetto stops and the Rialto Bridge. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. Sabina could not have been more helpful, before and during our stay. We would stay again, in a heartbeat and recommend it to friends and family.
The apartment was at a central location. 2 minutes walk to Rialto bridge. All places you will want to visit is within 10-minute walking distance. Owner was kind enough to provide us all the information prior to our arrival, and she also met us very early in the morning on the last day as our flight was at an early time. I will strongly suggest this apartment to anybody willing to feel how it's like to stay & live in Venice. When you look out in the morning, you will either see the people going to work, or people hanging their laundry to the ropes stretched between the buildings :)
If you're the type of person to have your breakfast in your house, you will find Rialto market in close distance where you can pick up anything you like, and get your bread (you should try the one with green olives inside!) from Farini on your way back home. If you don't want to do these, Farini and other few bakery stores very close to this apartment, and will also give you all the nice things for the breakfast!
Only down side is the water pressure. I don't know if this is specific to the flat or it's a common thing in Venice. Water pressure was not upto my expectations. The pressure was low although I used it at different times during the day. If other faucets are used at the same time, it gets even worse.
A minute walk from San Silvestro Public Boat stop, and five from Rialto's.
By plane: from Marco Polo airport by bus (ATVO) to Piazzale Roma and then by waterbus Line 1 or by motorboat taxi to S. Silvestro. As an alternative, the Alilaguna Arancio motorboat line from the airport to the Rialto.
Train: from the Santa Lucia train station, by waterbus Line 1 (San Silvestro stop), by motorboat taxi, or a 20 minute walk following the signs to Rialto.
By car: park the car in Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto and take the waterbus Line 1 to S. Silvestro. Or you can use the car parks in Via Righi, which cost less, and get to Piazzale Roma by bus. From San Silvestro's stop don't need to cross any bridge to reach the Residenza Valier, which can be quite helpful if you are travelling with heavy luggage.
Lots of nice restaurants, bars and shops are close by. We suggest: a visit to Rialto fish and vegetable Market in the morning (close on Sunday and Monday); an aperitif in Campo dell'Erberia before dinner time when also Venetian people drink an ombra or a sprix after work; a dinner in one of the amazing restaurants of Rialto place (we may book for you on request); a gondola ride form a close by dock to admire Venice form the channels in its natural dimension. For nay necessities I will be ready to help you to enjoy this marvelous town.
