This gorgeous cabin is nestled among the pines less than a mile from sundance resort. Key features include a luxurious master bedroom with full views of the Uinta wilderness, tvs in every room, huge decks for bbqs or lounging outdoors, and a downstairs game room that both kids and adults will love. The game room has a new 'pirates of the caribbean' pinball game, air hockey, foosball, an 8-ft Indian tipi, a big-screen tv, a huge couch, and a 'kids cave' with its own tv and play area.
Although it is large, the cabin still feels cozy. This property has several 'gathering areas' that allow groups to spread out with some degree of privacy. Adults can congregate in the living room on the main floor and carry on peaceful conversation while kids are bouncing off the walls in the play room downstairs. Meanwhile others can be taking a nap in the master bedroom or watching tv in an upstairs bedroom.
This cabin is charming, cozy, convenient, and 'connected' (the fastest internet and wifi available in the area--believe me we did our homework to ensure this!)
Our favorite thing about the cabin is that there is something for everyone to do and an area to do it in. We have several children ranging in ages from infant to early 20s. They often bring friends to the cabin, and they always tend to disappear into various parts of the house. Adults are in the main living room talking while teen-agers are in their bedrooms texting and younger children are downstairs going crazy in the game room. Each of the living spaces are far enough away from each other that we often find ourselves saying "wait, where are the kids? Oh ya, if you listen carefully you can hear them having a wild party downstairs."
Having a layout and enough space for the kids to be kids and the adults to relax turns our "family trip" into a "family vacation" every time we visit the cabin.
Amazing home! Plenty of space, beautifully furnished, and lots of perks! Would love to stay here again.
This was a beautiful cabin for our stay. It was almost sad having to leave it to attend the wedding a few cabins away. If there were to be one downfall it would be the lack of being able to use the baseboard heater in the master suite. There was a woodburning stove available to use in the suite, but we chose to enjoy the chill that made for good sleeping. It was colder than we had expected so this made for fantastic coloration of the surrounding area. James was a great host and answered all of our questions---we didn't need to ask a lot. When initially renting the unit he was camping and got back to us as soon as possible so his response time was great. We had a lot of fun with the pinball machine, but we weren't able to break your son's record. What little time we were in the cabin believe me we played it. Thanks for everything James.
This a great cabin! We had a large group ranging from 4 months to 70 and we were very comfortable. The air hockey and pinball machine provided some intense competitions among the young people and the separate sitting areas gave the rest of us plenty of quiet for visiting. Beautiful decks and great hot tub. Kitchen is fully stocked and newly updated. Only thing I would caution about is there is limited parking so may need to make other arrangements. You can park 3 cars without problem. Owner was helpful and quick to answer questions by text. This cabin will be added to our list to go back to!!
We had a wonderful time. Loved the home and the large family room with the children's play area. Close to Sundance so we enjoyed that too.
Just a couple minor issues....
1. It was unusually hot so the upper rooms were too hot and needed fans. (Which we drove the 30 minutes home to get.)
2. Because the 2nd bathroom was only accessible through a bedroom, that left one bathroom available for the other 6 adults and 6 children.
Otherwise a fabulous place!
This house was a great location for our family get-together in July. The proximity (less than one hour) to the Salt Lake City airport was a plus as we had several from our group fly in at various times. The cabin was beautifully decorated and felt very comfortable for our family which included two toddlers and four children 3-7. We did need to be vigilant with the babies and stairs but had no problems. The beds were cozy and comfortable, the kitchen had all meal prep items we needed, and the hot tub was a perfect temperature! We used the deck outside the kitchen for most meals and enjoyed the tree top view and the lovely sound of the river below. Parking is tight but we fit four cars snugly in the driveway. We took full advantage of the Sundance resort which is one mile away for a stunning ride to the top of the chair lift, hikes, shopping, and a delicious family meal at the restaurant. The owner was easy to get a hold of as we needed access to a portable crib for our stay. If you have children they will absolutely love the downstairs at this house! Foosball, air hockey, and a pinball machine entertained old and young and the kids cave is perfect for hours of play! The location of these in the basement is a bonus as you don't need to worry about disturbing others who might be napping in the bedrooms. One concern was there were some loose boards on the deck off the master suite which need some attention. All in all a beautiful location, plenty of activities near by, and a comfortable cabin - perfect July gathering spot!
We had a great experience. The rooms were well kept, the cabin was clean, the hot tub was great, and the game room was fantastic for our family gathering. The owners were very responsive to any/everything we needed to reach them for. Parking is a challenge in the area---as long as you plan to have up to three cars, you will be great, but if you have any number greater than three the HOA and the parking can be difficult and requires some planning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay--we used the back deck for grilling and the kitchen for quite a bit of food prep/serving.
We enjoyed seeing the wild turkeys roaming around the woods and we loved the heavy tree cover throughout. One of the biggest surprises to us was the proximity to Provo and the BYU campus---we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we could be at events or down to a store if needed. Remote, yet very conveniently located was great for our family.
Many thanks to the owners for sharing this place with us..
The cabin is located at the sundance ski resort, which is 30 miles south of salt lake city and only 20 miles away from the new provo airport.
