It boasts:

On the ground floor: living area, fireplace, large kitchen, American-style bar, 1 bedroom (2 single beds) with en-suite shower room including 1 toilet.

Upstairs: 2 double bedrooms with 2 en-suite bathrooms (including 1 with Jacuzzi bathtub) and 2 toilets, a sauna.

The villa and its pool are nestled in a wooded park where all the tree and shrub species of the Algarve grow.

In its garden, you will find rare rose bushes, agave and fruit trees.

At 460 m altitude, at a turn in a footpath the city of Monchique offers the spectacle of the sea, the freshness of crystal clear water crashing against the rocks, the orchards and terraced vegatable crops.

Idyllic setting and wonderful house

Our stay began with a very warm welcome from the owners Pascal & Marie. They met us at the local supermarket and led us up the hill out of Monchique (about 2 miles) to their hidden gem. From there they gave a very detailed and thorough tour of the house telling us about every little detail as though we were there first visitors. The house was immaculately clean and as the holiday progressed I soon learnt that the house was extremely well equipped. The kitchen had absolutely everything a professional chef would need plus other details such as a cool bag for the beach.

The layout of the house was slightly unusual because the three bedrooms were all located in different areas of the house. It is difficult to work this out from the photos and description. The master room upstairs, the twin room on the ground floor and then another master suite on the outside of the house. Therefore I don't feel it would be suitable if you had more than 2 children but ideal for 2 couples. The pool was amazing and heated to 25 degrees everyday.

Despite the owners living directly behind the holiday house they were extremely discreet. You wouldn't have even known they were there so certainly not an issue if you felt you didn't want them close by. There was a restaurant at the top of the driveway and although we didn't visit looked lovely. The views from the house were stunning and a 35 minute mountain drive took you out to the stunning west coast or 25 minutes you were in town of Portimao. Mochique itself is a beautiful town with lovely pavement cafe bars offering a quiet and un-spoilt experience of Portugal. We stayed with our 7 and 5 year old and had a magical two weeks. I would not hesitate to recommend this house. You are guaranteed a warm welcome and a fantastic holiday in beautiful Portugal.

Beautiful villa in a relaxing setting

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful week's holiday in this gorgeous villa in June.

The location is fantastic, the villa is tastefully decorated and clean and the welcome we received from the owners was second to none!

The owners live next door and are happy to offer any assistance should you need it - and equally happy to give you independence and the space to enjoy the comfortable villa and its beautiful surrounding gardens.

There is even a fabulous restaurant at the entrance of the Quinta, a few minutes' walk away, serving excellent food.

Highly recommended!!

Een mooi huis op een prachtige plek

Dit huis moet je boeken als je houdt van privacy, comfort en rust op een prachtige plek. Het zwembad is fantastisch: verwarmd, groot en diep met lekkere ligstoelen ernaast en prachtige bloemen en planten er omheen. Het huis is comfortabel, de keuken van alle gemakken voorzien, de serre/wintertuin met een glazen pui die je helemaal open kunt schuiven is heerlijk. De wifi in het huis is perfect.

De eigenaren Pascal en Marie wonen op hetzelfde terrein, zijn heel hartelijk en gastvrij, maar laten je helemaal vrij en door de perfecte ligging van het huis heb je 100% privacy. Pascal reageerde via de mail snel, duidelijk en attent op de vragen die we hadden voor we overgingen tot het boeken van het huis.

In Monchique is een grote supermarkt en er zijn genoeg restaurantjes. Door het prachtige uitzicht is restaurant O Luar de Foia een aanrader. De bevolking is erg aardig, de kust van de Algarve mooi en wij hadden begin mei heerlijk weer. Kortom een heerlijke plek om lekker vakantie te vieren. Echt een aanrader!

Escape from the Algarve heat and tourists

A wonderful haven of peace and tranquility away from the masses but within easy reach of the coast. The property is very well laid out with a beautiful view - a real escape. Our children loved the pool and we all loved the nature.

Havre de paix dans un écrin de verdure, piscine très agréable, maison spacieuse et idéalement équipée, rien ne manque.

L'accueil est chaleureux et les propriétaires n'hésitent pas à donner toutes indications utiles pour que le séjour soit profitable à tous, randonneurs ou visiteurs à la recherche des points de vue grandioses.

Perfektes Ferienhaus-traumhafte Lage

Das Haus befindet sich in hanglage in einem alten Olivenhain.Alte Korkeichen, Zitrusfrüchte und Granatapfelbäume vervollständigen den romantischen Garten? Das Grundstück ist terrassiert und bietet von allen Standorten herrliche Ausblicke.Zum Beispiel auf die Algarveküste aber auch auf den zweithöchsten Berg der Sierra Monchique, den Piccota. Das Haus der sehr hilfsbereiten und diskreten Vermieter liegt mit auf dem Grundstück. Allerdings sind Haus,Garten und Swimmingpool nicht einsehbar.Es gibt einen Wintergarten und eine Terrasse. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und gepflegt, die Betten gut und die Küche perfekt ausgestattet. Über das Grundstück sind fussläufig in wenigen Minuten mehrere Restaurants erreichbar.Teils mit sehr guter und guter Küche, und mit spektakulärem Ausblick. Die ruhige Lage in der Narur garantiert einen erholsamen Urlaub. Wandern in der Sierra Monchique ist direkt vom Ferienhaus möglich. Zum schönen Städtchen Alvor mit seinen schönen Stränden sind es 25 km. Städte wie Silva mit der alten Festungsanlage laden zu einem Kulurausflug ein. Wir haben schon einige gute Ferienhäuser gemietet, aber dieses Haus gehört mit zu den besten. Bilder und Beschreibung entsprechen der Situation vor Ort, die Vermieter haben uns sehr gut auf Haus und Anreise vorbereitet. Wir können dieses Ferienhaus in der Sierra Monchique nur empfehlen und werden auch weitere Urlaube hier verbringen.

Activities for your holiday in Monchique, Portugal

The highest point of 'Serra de Monchique' rises to 900 m, but there are other wonderful places to explore. The presence of a luxuriant subtropical vegetation is due to the very favourable climate. Many creeks, springs and rivers have been popular since the Roman age, especially the hot springs that come from the mountain sides. The springs of Fonte Santa da Malhada Quente and Caldade Monchique are known for their therapeutic virtues. If you are looking for a place to avoid the stress of your working life, you won't be lacking a variety of choice for places to hide in the mountains. Many hike paths in the region will lead you to isolated areas of the Algarve, offering panoramic views of the entire region up to the Ocean. In total, there are 300 km of walk.

Golf: Morgado Golf Course, Monchique

Morgado Golf Course is nestled in a natural landscape, close to the Serra de Monchique and the tourist town of Portimão, this field makes it possible to play golf in a place that preserves its flora, characterisitc of the Algarve region.

Morgado Golf Course, with 6 holes, 399 m, Par 73, is one of the longest courses of the region.

A golf course of 18 holes is located in a sector of moderated vegetation, perfectly integrated into the surrounding rustic landscape, and is composed of 5 holes Par 5, 9 holes Par 4, and 4 holes Par 3.

The different bunkers, strategically positioned, and the lakes of the size of its 800 sq.m putting-greens make Morgado Golf Course a real Championship Course.
