Doreen and I are both native Annapolitans, growing up sailing, fishing, and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, MD. Married for 35 years, Doreen graduated from the University of Maryland School of Nursing and I graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy. Doreen, while juggling the schedules of our three active daughters, completed a successful career as a Registered Nurse. I was a career Naval Aviator, piloting the P-3 Orion patrol aircraft.
While serving at Naval Air Station Brunswick, ME, we fell in love with the beautiful Rangeley Lakes Region and in 1983 purchased an old camp on the west shore of Rangeley Lake in Oquossoc. In 2006, at the age of 50, we fulfilled our dream and retired to the lake.
I am a Registered Maine Guide (hunting, fishing, recreational), the Vice President of the Rangeley Region Guides and Sportsman’s Association, and a Director on the Rangeley Lakes Region Historical Society. We are active parishioners of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Parish, where Doreen volunteers as a Eucharistic Minister.
Kevin and Doreen Sinnett purchased this cabin in 1983

The beauty of the pristine lakes, picturesque mountains, and abundant wildlife will rejuvenate you while encouraging you to explore. If you enjoy fresh-water fishing, boating and kayaking, hiking, bird-watching, or simply sitting in one of our lake-side Adirondacks watching a beautiful sunset, you will LOVE our little version of paradise.
All rentals include unlimited use of our ten kayaks, lakefront boat dock, (up to 24' boat, trailer storage available), propane grill, picnic table and lakeside stone fire-pit.
As an additional bonus, seven-day suite rentals include a FREE one-hour lake cruise or $25/person toward a Mothership Kayak Excursion, both offerings of our Rangeley Region Lake Cruise business.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Osprey's Nest this October. Kevin and Doreen were such great hosts and were helpful in every way! Our accomodations were very nice, appeared to be brand new and then such a pretty view of the lake was icing on the cake! We used the kayaks and the firepit for s'mores and loved the set up. The shower was the best we had on our trip! We knew Kevin and Doreen were there on the property but they let you enjoy the property as if it is your own. I would stay there again for sure. The only piece of advice I have is to make sure you have directions in writing and not to rely on your GPS!! Try the Red Onion in town to for lunch, loved the quaint area and the fall foilage!! The Appalachian trail and several waterfalls are nearby. I would love to see this place in the winter too!!
We had a wonderful stay at Osprey's Nest. The place is immaculate and beautiful. Doreen and Kevin are really pay attention to every details. They are very helpful and show us where about in the area. We also kayak 1 afternoon on Rangeley lake.
Thank you both Doreen and Kevin.
My second stay at the Osprey nest within 3 weeks and again Kevin and Doreen didn't disappoint. The Osprey Nest and the grounds are very well kept, organized and user friendly. Kayaks and fishing location tips abound. I cannot recommend this place enough! I am looking forward to booking another stay!
A spontaneous decision to have my 12 yo nephew visit and I was lucky enough to find this gem with less than 48hrs notice! The Osprey Nest was airy and pleasant as well as outfitted with your every need anticipated. The lawn furniture was comfortable and arranged in such a way that you could either socialize with others or have a private area to yourself and enough free use of kayaks to do the same. My nephew and I chose to socialize around the campfire and we met two very nice couples.
Doreen and Kevin were so accommodating that they moved their passenger boat to a mooring to open up dock space for my nephew and I to fish from. Kevin came out to the camp fire for a few minutes in the evening and we all watched the space shuttle fly overhead, a memory my nephew is sure never to forget!
I would definitely recommend The Osprey Nest to anyone looking to stay in the Rangeley area and I am hoping to return again soon!
My husband and I stayed at Osprey's Nest as a short get-a-way to visit the area of Rangeley. Kevin and Doreen were very accommodating and personable upon our arrival. Our stay there was very comfortable, clean and peaceful. They were on hand to assist with anything we needed yet very considerate of our privacy. I would highly recommend this lovely place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. The property was beautiful. Doreen and Kevin are great hosts and make you feel like family from the moment you arrive.
We love to kayak and this was nicely located for not just Rangeley Lake but also quick trips to surrounding lakes and the Kennebago River. In addition to immediate access to Rangeley Lake from the property, we found numerous boat launch sites with ample parking for all the lakes in the region. There just wasn't enough time to try them all!
Thanks for a great time.
