Large family with 4 children between the ages of 4 and 12. Quiet, loving nature, peace, sports and the sea. In the region for over 5 generations.
Pierre Emmanuel Poujardieu purchased this Villa in 2004
Why Pierre Emmanuel Poujardieu chose Saint-Coulomb
Having spent our whole childhood in Saint-Malo, we fell in love with the Villa Primerose (Colette regularly stays here) 200 meters from the sea and in the charm of the countryside. Since then, we spend our vacations there year round with cousins and friends.
What makes this Villa unique
View of the sea. 200 meters to the beaches. One of the few 19th century houses in the area, modern and renovated in 2005. Family home. Calm 3000 sq.m park-garden. The hill at the end of the garden. Ideal departure point for walks around Saint-Malo.
Photos did not do the house justice.
As the house is very well placed for holiday activities and facilities (boulangerie, supermarket etc), we had a very successful holiday.
Many thanks Terry for your responsivness!
Looking forward to see you again en Britanny!
Lovely holiday home
When sitting at the laptop in Tooting, south-west London and casting around the internet for a place to spend a well-earned break (with partner and two lively lurcher dogs!) it's hard to get it right - on this occasion, we did! Phew!
We wanted a large, comfortable house with a big, FULLY-SECURED garden in which our dogs would be safe. We wanted a place that was homely and friendly and clean and well-presented without being so prissy our dogs (or we!) would ruin it. We wanted a home where we would feel relaxed and contented. And thankfully we found it in Villa Primerose. We loved it!
Our host, Pierre-Emmanuel, was consistently friendly and communicative before, during and even after our stay (without being at all intrusive) - we were keen to know the history of the house and he's provided us since with a fascinating email telling the house's story and its connections with the infamous Colette!
The decor is fairly eccentric but delightfully so. The house has a lovely feel to it, the bed we slept in was fab!
We could have done with a CD that worked and a modern TV - our host says both of these are on their way. The grounds are delightfully untended which is nice though perhaps a trim of the vegetation before too long will make the place feel even more loved!
It was a huge pleasure taking the dogs for a long walk on the beach (not allowed between 15th June and sometime in September) and through the dunes and then relax on the terrace of local bar/restaurant La Perle Noire (glorious view over the rock-pools and out to sea) with an aperitif before pottering home for supper (wonderful oysters and lobsters and beef from local villages!). One night we made the mistake of actually eating at La Perle Noire - we didn't choose well, other visitors may fare better, it's always busy - had a much better meal on the harbour in Cancale ten minutes' drive away a few nights later.
But anyway, who'd want to spend too much time away from the house? We were SO happy at Villa Primerose. We didn't want to leave and would love to go back. What more can you say?!
