About the property

2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, American Kitchen, Lounge, S to M, Grde Terrace, 4 TV, air conditioning

It is a love affair with this chalet which was written long ago, attracted by its location in the heart of the mountains between Briançon and the Serre-Ponçon, in lush greenery bordering the Durance beautiful turquoise color which you will get many kayaks parties much higher once you have crossed the bridge on arrival, glaciers are just above our heads.

You are the feet of the Ecrins, the Queyras Regional Park and resorts Vars and Risoul.

At 950 m, the situation of the chalet offers many benefits, close to all amenities, with a very pleasant climate, enjoying sunshine.

The range of activities available nearby is considerable:

The Guillestrois is paradise for hiking or mountain biking on mountain trails breathtaking, from simple family outing to the most exhilarating walks; whitewater sports excellence by the Guil and Durance (rafting, canyoning, river descents that were also suitable for children to dream!) ; climbing, via ferrata, paragliding, etc ...

Some ideas for walks and hikes close by, 5 minutes:

The medieval village of Saint-Crépin with its forest of Cade (extraordinary view of the valley and the Durance); the adorable little lake of Saint-Crépin, isolated road, which turns into summer in a genuine leisure center with playground for children, tables and wooden benches; the Marmot Trail of Mont-Dauphin at the feet of the High Place, where you can admire the panoramic view that will amaze young and old (marmots live in freedom and just sit in front of their burrows to see the show! ) ; the legendary fountain of petrifying Réotier, heritage treasure and geological curiosity; fish farming in a pretty shady where you can fish or buy trout before grilling barbecue cottage in summer; the hot springs with beneficial properties of Phasy Plan; the mysterious descent of the Rue des Masques in upper Guillestre and its beautiful waterfall! The Eygliers lake for bathing fun and leisure with watersports, tree park, playground, horse riding, pony rides, obstacle course, etc ...

Not far away, the Serre-Ponçon offer its natural resources, numerous water activities and its magnificent wildlife park; 45 minutes you can enjoy the delights of a naturally hot water to the Great Baths Monetier (documentation on www. Lesgrandsbains. Fr).

Discover a universe full of history with Place Forte Mont-Dauphin Built by Vauban, an architectural jewel, world heritage of UNESCO. Ramparts you can admire the beautiful mountains of the Queyras ... You can visit Fort Queyras, imposing castle from the Middle Ages, fortified by Vauban and of course the superb Fortified Briancon (the highest city in France) with the "Cité Vauban "or" gargoyle "very popular place to ride.

The chalet offers an additional advantage, the proximity of a small plot of gliding facing the majestic Place-Forte de Mont-Dauphin, renowned for being at the crossroads of a flight site exceptional mountain, allowing overflights landscapes among the most beautiful in France. From the air, on the occasion of a first flight, for example, the natural spectacle of the area is amazing! Kids love watching the gliders like birds flying gracefully in the silence of the air!

Another important advantage of the cottage, heated pool reserved for residents and the children's pool during the summer season. Tennis and a small children's play area from 2 to 7 years are available all year.

In winter, the location at the crossroads of several ski resorts make it attractive stay. Vars, Risoul, Ceillac, Puy St Vincent, 20 minutes; Serre-Chevalier 35 minutes.

It is very nice to see the tranquility of the cottage at the end of a day in the resort.

Free shuttles from Mont-Dauphin Guillestre.

You will love this beautiful region that will delight sports enthusiasts, nature, local cuisine, geology, archeology and history.

Note that in February 2015, the restaurant 'Gaspard tables "in St. Crépin receives a Michelin star.

US Renters

  • 5 of 5

Sometimes travelers from the US are hesitant to rent places in a foreign country because there are too many unknowns. US vacationers can rent this beautiful chalet with confidence-all the information listed is accurate and the setting is beautiful! There are many activities to do in all of the seasons within a short scenery packed drive. This is a chalet that is easy to prepare meals in (complete with a wood fire grill) and most importantly, dining outside is relaxing whether you are on the protected porch or on the lawn. If you want the feel of being in the Alps without having the crowds, busyness or being surrounded by multi-level condos, this is the place. The owners are very responsive and despite the language barrier all our questions were answered. What we enjoyed most was the peace and tranquility the location offered. We hope others enjoy it too!

Lovely Week

  • 5 of 5

The Chalet was a delight for myself and my family to visit. We visited the ski areas of Risoul and Vars for skiing each day and the drive was easy. It was lovely to come back to the calm of the chalet each day and chill.

Lovely restaurants nearby in St Crepin, Briancon and Guillestre and lots of supermarkets, boulangeries and more. A week is just not enough.

Richard and Muriel could not have been more helpful from their warm responses to our initial inquiry to suggestions and wonderful photos of the area to help us settle.

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5
