The Land Crab is located on the Cheniere, fronting Camanada Pass, with beautiful views of Caminada Pass, Grand Isle, and the Gulf of Mexico. The home is updated, fully furnished, and comfortable. It has cable and Wi-Fi. Central AC and Heat. The 260 foot pier has a fish cleaning station, and a 20x20 platform with step down at the end for launching kayaks. There is a screened in area under the raised house, and a lockable storage area that has a toilet and shower that comes in handy after a hard day's fishing.
The interior is split-level. The lower level has laminate flooring and the upper level has Berber carpet. There is a short rise (about 2 ft) between the levels. Three of the bedrooms have a double bed, one has a queen sized bed, and there is a day bed and trundle the lower living area. Each bedroom has a television set (with cable), and there is password protected WiFi. The kitchen has new cabinets, sink, and marble tile countertop. There are two living areas, each with a television set, as well as a dining table that seats 6.
We bought this house both for the beautiful views of Camanda Pass and the Gulf of Mexico, as well as for the ability to catch fish and crabs from the pier. With the passing of the years we have loved watching the dynamic environment as Elmer's Island has grown towards the bridge and created a beach just a short distance away from the end of our pier. We've also enjoyed paddling our kayaks into the bay behind Elmer's Island to catch trout and redfish.

The waters around Grand Isle, Louisiana are world famous for both inshore fishing for speckled trout, redfish, and flounder, and offshore fishing for snapper, grouper, amberjack, dolphin, tuna, etc. Crabbing can be good nearly year round, however it is generally best in the summer through the fall. Grand Isle, immediately across the bridge, has 7 miles of continuous beach for fishing, crabbing, and swimming. Both Elmer's Island and Fourchon Beach are nearby providing alternative locations, if desired. If you are into birding, Grand Isle provides a wonderful opportunity in the Grand Isle Birding Trail. This trail is about 2 miles round trip. Grand Isle State Park is located on the eastern end of the island and, for a small fee, provides access to pristine beaches and a 400 foot fishing pier. Another great attraction for the kids is the Grand Isle Butterfly Dome which features native butterflys and plants.
After spending your day fishing, swimming, or just relaxing you can either fix your catch at home, or travel a short distance to one of the restaurants on Grand Isle.
