The GRISHAM HOUSE: AVALON'S ONLY WATERFRONT BEACH HOUSE!

You can throw a stone into the water from our fantastic 60 foot wrap around balcony deck with spectacular and sweeping 270 degree views overlooking the beach, the town, the harbor and the ocean! There is no finer spot to sit and people watch or relax with a glass of wine. 2 night minimum. (3 nt minimum in summer)

You want waterfront with fantastic views; the best location; a great deck and the best value? This is it - look no further! Compare us to ANY other rental (house, condo or hotel) that claims to be waterfront or have an ocean view.

This family owned vacation home offers you the BEST location in town; only steps away from the sand and swimming, shopping, restaurants and bars and all the recreational activities and sightseeing tours. We are also a very short, 2 minute level stroll from where the ferry docks.

Our property is 3 stories (sorry, no elevator) and is a classic, comfortable beach house. On the ground floor are a couple retail clothing shops, a jet ski rental, an ocean rafting company and a psychic. The middle floor (14 steps up) is our larger vacation rental (vrbo #65480) and this unit is on the top (3rd) floor 14 additional steps up from the middle unit.

During the day we are right in the middle of all Avalon has to offer; hustling and bustling with activity. And virtually everyone who takes the ferry walks right past our property, so if you are a people watcher or enjoy seeing all the activity in the harbor; you'll be in heaven. At night however, after the 'day trippers' go home and the businesses close, everything calms down around us.

This unit is like a small 1 bedroom apartment and offers a large separate bedroom with queen bed, a newly remodeled bathroom with stall shower, a brand new fully stocked kitchen and a small living room. This unit is ideal for a romantic couple getaway or a couple with 1 child. In the living room is a TV with cable; DVD player and iPod player. 2 sets of sliding glass doors open onto the LARGE WRAPAROUND DECK WITH SPECTACULAR 270 DEGREE VIEWS. For eating there are 3 bar stools at the breakfast counter plus a table on the front deck. There is a gas BBQ on the side deck. BBQ and dine on the deck while you enjoy spectacular views. We also have free wireless internet access for your laptop computer.

WHY STAY ANYWHERE ELSE? This property offers you the BEST location; the BEST beachfront view decks in town; and the very BEST vacation rental value for your money. We get many repeat guests year after year; you'll see why!

RATES ARE BASED ON 2 PEOPLE. ADD $25/nt FOR A 3RD PERSON.

Also, the MIDDLE floor offers four bedrooms and three baths and sleeps 8. (See vrbo #65480). Book both units for a perfect extended family vacation or 4-5 couple getaway.

We also have a GORGEOUS unit 2.5 blocks inland. It's not waterfront with the views, but it's newer, lovely and less expensive. See vrbo #289226. It can be booked as either a 1 or 2 bedroom.

NO PETS and NO SMOKING. 3 Night MINIMUM in Summer (and 2 nt minimum all other times). Sorry, we do NOT have a golf cart. Minimum age limits apply and young adults renting on their own must be 24 years of age.

**BOOKING IN ADVANCE** We have many regulars that come back year after year and we always give them first opportunity to re-book for the following year. Therefore, we do NOT book more than about 11 months in advance.**

Beautiful

We rented the entire location for the weekend. This place is incredible. Ideal location with the best views . This upper apartment is absolutely wonderful. Well maintained and fully stocked. This trip we had a big busy group of kids. My husband and I plan on returning (no kids) and booking the upstairs. Big group, go for all of it....romantic getaways, get this smaller apartment. You can't go wrong with the Grisham homes! Thank you 😊

Wonderful value!!!

We have been coming to Catalina for almost 25 years mainly with our 2 daughters and sometimes as a couple. We have stayed in a few different hotels but have mainly stayed in Hamilton Cove. It was my birthday and after looking through the hotel prices and the Hamilton cove rentals I stumbled upon this rental on vrbo and decided to give it a try. I was very familiar with the building and location but since it sleeps 2-3 it had never been an option for my family if 4. This was a couple trip so it seemed like a good opportunity to check it out and we were so glad we did!

Apartment size was perfect for a party of two. Bed was comfortable, kitchen and bathroom were great and the wrap around patio was beyond perfect. We sat on the patio often to people watch, have a glass of wine, or just to stare at the boats in the harbor. So convenient to restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. my husband loved it and said for future trips if we are coming as a couple he would prefer to stay there again as opposed to Hamilton cove or a hotel. ( I am a Hamilton cove lover and I agreed with him)

Randy the owner was fabulous to work with. Very pleasant and quick to respond with any questions. Hoping to stay at this rental for years to come!!

This is the place!

This was our 1st visit to Catalina and had a great time. We rented the upstairs unit and it was exactly as described. The owner was easy to work with and the location is great. It's a great place to watch people strolling by and close to bars, restaurants and shops.

We had a wonderful time and loved this location!

OUTSTANDING !!!

I rented both of the owner's properties for my family from 5/16 through 5/19. We had 9 adults & 2 toddlers. I cannot say enough great things about these rentals. Both were very clean & very comfortable, and stocked very well. So close to the Catalina Express & a short walk to restaurants & shops. We spent almost all of our time on the fabulous deck - the views are awesome! I can't imagine staying anywhere else & everyone wanted to make sure the had the information so they could rent in the future. Randy, the owner was very easy to deal with. Can't wait to go back!

watch the world go by

oh my geepers! PERFECTION! seriously, we could not have had a better vacation!

we've rented on sumner for years, so we were just a bit hesitant about changing our catalina "home."

first, and almost foremost....LOCATION!

in the past, we have trudged through town, carrying all of our week long belongings, from the forever far, catalina express, to our rental on sumner. NOT THIS TIME!

i know it is stupid, but it was SO NICE, to only walk 3 minutes from ferry to home! entrance is "hidden" between two shops, but randy's email/directions were spot on, and we found it just fine.

CUTE little house! instant relaxation, as soon as we opened the door. new wood floors, CLEAN, INCREDIBLE wrap around deck/balcony!

fabulous breeze, throughout the house, when you open the front slider, and side slider.

you can see ALL of avalon, from basically any spot in the house.

we sat out on front balcony/deck for the majority of our stay; watching the MANY people arrive, the boats bobbing in the harbor, the incredible weather, the gorgeous sunsets, and we're amazed by how many people touched, kissed, and took pictures with, the bronze seal! :)

bedroom is small but for whatever reason (layout?) it was completely comfortable, and did not feel closed in.

i was concerned the golf cart/pedestrian traffic noise, from out front, would disturb our sleeping in....not a problem, at all! (we were bums, and slept in 'til 930 -10, every morning!)

kitchen had all we needed, although we ate out most every meal. (pancake cottage has the BEST breakfast!

good service, yummy food, portions are large so we shared...they close at 1:30 so don't miss out.)

plenty of towels & bedding, good water pressure, close to all!

we can't wait to go back to this house!

*even though the house is smack in the middle of hub bub, we had plenty of quiet and privacy.

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!
