A rough 6 day, but good location
It was a rough six days. My husband and I weren’t looking for a five star apartment or any fineries but the apartment may have been more trouble than it was worth. Not having an air conditioner wasn’t a big problem for us except it was EXTREMELY humid all the time even when it was cool outside. The humidity would build up daily in the apartment making everything damp especially the sheets and a moldy smell that wasn’t too bad with the windows open. Also the ceiling would leak after after every shower even if it was for five mins. These things wouldn’t have been such an issue if the own simply attempted to accommodate us with at least a fan for circulation which I requested before booking. I emailed twice during our stay and though I would get reply’s days later nothing was done. No fan provided and nothing done about the leaking ceiling that was spreading so we had to move our things. Things unexpectedly happen as renter I get it but a fan would have helps with the smell and dampness. The location is great. I give it a 3 starts for the location... but sadly we found ourselves avoid the apartment at the end of that day. Temperatures are while the windows are open but again everything gets damp because of the humidity.
Dear Helene Slicker
We were out of France during your stay that why we were not able to help you at this moment. We will do our best to improve the comfort of the studio.
We apologize for the inconvenient.
A perfect little spot in the very heart of Paris
I can't say enough good things about this magical, perfectly located flat. Situated off of a darling little courtyard, this little flat had everything that I needed, including a washer/dryer for my clothes! It is not very big, but it is cozy and I surely didn't come to Paris to hang out in my place--I came to wander the streets and cafes of The City of Light! The location on Ile Saint Louis is the best location one could ask for. It is like being is a small, quiet village set in the very center of the city!!
Fixed up i would stay every time
This place is in a great location a small walk from the metro (about 400m if I recall correctly).
Located right behind Notre Dame the place is a little hard to find the first time but easy after that. Small but more than enough for two for a week.
The bed is a pullout futon, two pillows and a comforter if needed. The place would be amazing for the colder weather but not so great in the heat, two large windows help aleveate the heat but aren't enough if your already hot and sweaty. There are several heating elements in the place but not one fan which I already knew.
The part where the rating comes in is due to the poor shape the room is in.
Broken floorboards leaving a sizable hole near the front door, floors that feel like they have holes just under the laminate, and the bed with slats that fell out regularly, and the fact that at night there are no lights in the courtyard at all so it's pitch black.
If these things were fixed I would stay here every time I came to Paris.
The street out front has several shops and is a block away from a small grocery store and a few restaurant.
Overall a few fix ups and this place would be an amazing place to stay.

Wonderful Time in Paris and Central to Everything!
I took my son to Paris for his 16th B-day to explore Paris, This was my 3rd visit and his 1st. I did not want to stay in a hotel and I did not want to break the bank for accomodations. We boys did not need luxury. We needed something comfortable, safe, central to restaurants, museums, sites, etc. This lttle place on the ile de st louis, 2 minutes walk behind Notre Dame, was perfect for us. We are seasoned travelers. Sometimes we want high end resorts on an island and sometimes we want a good experience with good value for the dollar. The Studio was just that. It was not luxurious. It was not grande. It was a small, cozy spot to sleep for 8 hours before getting up an exploring again. To this day, my son and I still laugh at how the two of us slept on the futon. We had a great time and the studio was perfect for our needs. When the futon was folded up, it made a nice couch to sit on, read, send emails, etc. When folded out, it did take up most of the floor space. However, we did not put the bed out unless we were going to sleep. So it did not matter. The stairwell was narrow, but a very cool design. The Kitchen was a galley kitchen with a microwave and a washer dryer combo. We did not cook in the studio. We eat all our meals out. The bathroom was very nice. The owner has used every inch of space and it is compact but functional. The studio was clean and, best, central to everything. We could walk all around the 4th, 5th, 6th and 1st Arrn's without trouble and within 25 minutes of the Ile De St Louis. We loved it. Yes, it could have been bigger. If you need luxury and wasted space, do not go here. But if you are traveling for the experience and enjoy the out of the ordinary, this place is great. We are coming back to Paris in 2014. Unforunately, all 4 of us are coming, so the studio is not an option.
Cozy and Charming in the Centre of the City!
My boyfriend (who became my Fiancé by the end of the trip) and I stayed in this apartment for 5 nights in June 2011.
The owner Eric, was more than helpful during the booking process and sent us additional photos. Nora who met us to show us the apartment and give us keys asked that we text her once we landed and she was there waiting when our taxi pulled up.
You walk through a courtyard to the apartment which is on ground level – you walk in on the stair landing and have to take a few down to the living room/bedroom or up to the kitchen and bathroom. The living room has a pull out which was more comfortable than the hotel bed we had on our next stop to Milan! The kitchen has a fridge which was really useful for keeping cheese, meats and wine closed when we would have our own “happy hour” before heading out for the night.
The location of this apartment could not be beat! Ile Saint-Louis is an amazing little island with a variety of shops, on the seine and other major sights in Paris. There are no metros on the island but there are all around once you cross a bridge.
Yes, the apartment is small, but the description does give you the size in square meters so we weren’t surprised when we walked in. If you are staying for an extended time in Paris, want to spend a lot of time in your room, need closet space or your own personal space – this might not be the best apartment for you. This was our first time renting an apartment from home away and we were in the centre of Paris and didn’t care!
My husband and I would stay in this apartment again.
It was a pleasure to welcome you in our apartment in Saint Louis island.
I'm glad that you appreciate your stay in the studio.
See you soon
