L'ESCALE DU VIEUX PORT. You will live 10 metres away from the harbour, in a large and ancient house within a fishermen's village, entirely renovated and tastefully arranged by a decorator. Enjoy the fitness room, relax with the TV equipments in the living room and the master room, or use the home cinema, the radio, the games, and the books, to spend some quality time with your family. The rooms are very spacious. The large dining room/kitchen adjoins harmoniously the living room, and the bedrooms are very pleasant. The closed fireplace will create a cosy and intimate atmosphere. Two shower rooms are available, one of them includes a fitness room (on the ground floor) and the other is by the bedrooms (upstairs). Each bedroom is separated. The house opens onto the harbour, where the storekeepers, the restaurants, and the fishermen will offer you a contact with the local life, many highly interesting sites, and some relaxing time within a universe laden with history. You will be able to buy fresh fish as easily as a croissant in the morning.

Our house is located right next to our shop, in which we sell regional products, delicatessen, wine, and spirits, including Calvados. If you need anything, we won't be far.

We have decided to rent our house in order to receive tourists who want to discover our beautiful region. Our activities are focused on tourism and the discovery of our region.
The house is situated at the heart of the region, only a few metres away from the harbour, the shops, the restaurants, and the regional activities. It is the reflection of the fishermen's houses in which a spirit remains, giving it a soothing atmosphere.
A decorator brought her own delicate touch. On the ground floor, you enter the house, through a corridor that leads you upstairs and to the rest of the house, as well as to relaxing area, a fitness room, a shower room (which includes a sink, a shower and an separate toilet), and a baggage room. Upstairs, the large spaces allow you to go easily from the living area (the kitchen open onto the dining room) and the living room, where you can enjoy the crackling of the fire coming from the closed fireplace. This living room consists of a comfortable sofa which can be turned into a double bed at night.
The two bedrooms are on the second floor and add to the soothing atmosphere of the house, with great spaces under the roof structure. There is also a shower room with WC on this floor.
The direct vicinity with the shops is very convenient and you can even buy fresh fish caught during the night less than 100 m away from the house.
A few meters away, you will have access to the harbour and its activities, and, during summer, great fireworks are launched from there.
Every Sunday morning, you can go to the local market, which is very popular in the region.
My 12 year old grandson and I enjoyed our stay at the Langlois's rental property in Port en Bessin. The two bedrooms and two bathrooms provided great separation when some quiet time was needed but the welcoming kitchen and living area was very pleasant for both of us. Mr. Langlois kindly provided some firewood so we could light a fire on a rainy night. The kitchen is very well equipped with cooking wear and dishes if one should choose to make meals however that is not necessary as Port en Bessin has good restaurants within a few minutes walk. Groceries and a good bakery are also very close by and it is not necessary to drive for supplies. The area is very convenient for Normandy beaches and other sight seeing. I would certainly stay there again. On site parking for my car was a real bonus as one did not have to worry about finding a spot on the narrow street. Very happy with my choice.
This is the very best Gite that we have ever stayed in France. It is a really wonderful and comfortable property with all the facilities that you need. It is very well appointed and in a great location. We enjoyed our stay and fully agree with all the previous comments made. Mr and Mrs LANGLOIS are extremely friendly and very helpful - really nice people! This property is very very highly recommended!!!!
The property is a great option for families who do not want to do the HUGE BUS tour!!! Normandy is an incredibly intimate experience by car and provides so much flexibility! We even had an opportunity to visit a Normand Farm! The property is well placed for day trips and ending back in the Port! Dinners in....or out! Secure Parking is a total plus! although extra parking is available 1/2 block away!
30 minutes from Omaha Beach, museum and National Cemetery where 9600 soldiers were buried...Arlington in France!
This is a must see and wonderful VRBO experience in a friendly town where most speak English!
Oh....by the way, there is a Market 1/2 block away where you can buy the essentials for the kitchen...the husband and wife run the store and are very friendly/accommodating! They seem to open no later than 9 a.m.
Last of all...we felt very safe....that was the best of all!

My husband and I stayed in this lovely house with another couple for a week, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is charming, beautifully furnished with a sea theme, and very well equipped. The town is absolutely charming -- beautiful little port with shops, restaurants and even a supermarket. A great location for visiting the D-day beaches and other interesting places in Normandy. Our host, Jean Francois, was very kind and hospitable. He made all sorts of good recommendations, and he was extremely helpful when we had a flat tire. He phoned the car rental company for us and also contacted a mechanic for us. He really helped make our stay unforgettable. We're very grateful.
We had a lovely holiday in Port en Bessin.There were 6 in our party - grandparents,parents and two teenagers and there was plenty of room as we put a lilo in the downstairs gym for our son. This property is very well located and equipped with everything you could need. It is very warm and comfortable for a stay out of season and beautifully presented.As the other reviewers have mentioned the owner is really hospitable and helpful. There are lots of interesting places nearby to visit and the town has lots of restaurants and bars. Thoroughly recommended !
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mon. Langlois's house. The town itself is the perfect location to experience all that Normandy and even Mont St Michel (1h30m away) has to offer. Bayeux is 10 minutes away, and you are right in between Omaha and Gold beaches, each 10-15 minutes away. All are easy to reach from this quaint port town. Port en Bessin has a great market on Sunday mornings, the perfect opportunity to stock up on fresh food to cook in the newly renovated kitchen. We came with our 16 month old daughter and she loved the house. It was equipped with a crib, high chair and some toys and books. The house is literally a 1 min walk to the water and a great place to hike along the bluffs overlooking the port. It is also a stone's throw from a premier golf course in France with a restaurant with fabulous views. There are enough restaurants have your fill of fresh seafood and some do take out if needed. The owner was wonderful, very accommodating to our family. He had many suggestions about what to do and is typically available at the beautiful Epicerie he owns behind the house. The kitchen is large and modern, equipped with all you need to cook your meals. There are two bakeries right around the corner to get your morning breads. It is perfect for a family or two couples or three couples if one doesn't mind staying on the pull out couch. If you have an air mattress, you could even fit another two people on the ground floor, there is plenty of room in the laundry and bathroom. The laundry facilities were appreciated on the lower floor. I fully recommend this rental. We have rented many in Europe over the past 3 years and this has been the best. Enjoy!

In Normandy, PORT EN BESSIN HUPPAIN is a lovely fishing harbour located on the Channel, in the heart of the historic sites of the Landings. This typical fishing harbour is surrounded by OMAHA BEACH and its history (7 km away), ARROMANCHES and its artificial harbour (11 km away), and BAYEUX, the first FRENCH city to be liberated (7 km away). It is easily accessible by the four-lane highway and the railway going to BAYEUX. You can also land at the CAEN airport, which is 35 km away. Enthusiasts can also come by way of the sea. It has 36 holes and is located on the edge of a cliff, which gives a splendid view over the sea, if you choose the SEA course, or over the countryside, if you choose the amazing MANOR site. You can learn about all the advantages of this world famous golf club on its website. There are introduction and beginners courses available. There is also a restaurant with terrace that will allow you to enjoy the amazing view over both the sea and the surroundings of BAYEUX while savouring the delicious sea food from PORT EN BESSIN HUPPAIN.
