We four women were very happy with Leonardo's home. We rented the entire house and loved it. It was clean and modern and in a wonderfully historic part of Granada.
Although it is a distance from town the area has its own lively shops and restaurants and bus and taxis are always available.
Leonardo provided some fruit, juice, milk and muffins for us and gifted us each a small bottle of olive oil. I would love to go back and stay longer.
A little difficult in communication with Leonardo senior, but sons speak good English and were very nice. They live next door so they were available if needed. Perfectly clean, welcoming fruit, drinks, and snacks (this was nice and a the only time in 2.5 weeks in Spain (THANK YOU!) WiFi is good. Beds nice and comfortable.
Only possible thing depending on your physical condition was long 25 minute, downhill one way, then uphill walk to/from Plaza Nueva area in town. There are a couple of small restaurants nearby about 5-10 minute walk. Big grocery a long way a way, small groceries nearby.
My family of 5 adults stayed at Leonardo's house for 2 nights. It is in the Albaicin area. My family loved this apartment. It is 3 floors with decks out on each floor. So much space and all very modern. It was easy to check in and check out. Leonardo even ordered a car service for us to take us to the airport. We loved being away from the downtown area. Yet within walking distance were wonderful restaurants. Recommendations for restaurants in the area were spot on. We even walked to Alhambra from the apartment. The wifi could have been better in the upstairs bedroom. But it was a minor inconvenience. I would recommend this apartment to all.I would definitely return. Thanks for a wonderful experience. Regards, Diane S.
We had a great stay at the apartment which has very modern facilities with more than enough room for the 9 of us. It was great being able to come back to this warm, comfortable home after a day exploring the city and further. It was possible to walk to the city and the Alhambra.
Leonardo made our stay all the more memorable with his hospitality. He made it a point to ensure that we got to the apartment, provided us supplies of fruit and cakes, and even gave our young people bottles of olive oil. He also got his son Luiz to help us obtain tickets to the Alhambra. And because his family lives just next door, help was just a knock away. These kind gestures of Leonardo and his family really made our stay at the apartment and in Granada a wonderful one.
If we return to visit Granada, we would definitely like to stay at the apartment.
Thank you, Leonardo.
We (a family of 4 with two young children) stayed at the superb Casa del Arco during a week-end at Granada.
The flat is advantageously situated at the top of the historical Albaycin district. If you are driving to Granada, as we did, it is easily accessible from the motorway and there is free parking very near the flat (very convenient if you have young kids and luggage). Once settled into the flat, we walked or used the bus for visiting (as it is not easy to find one’s way with the many streets which are closed to the traffic); the bus stop to Plaza Nueva is a couple of minutes walk from the flat.
The flat is as shown in the photos: modern, very spacious and comfortable, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and living room are very well equipped, and there is a spacious yard and garden if you wish to sunbathe, get your kids to move about or eat al fresco.
We are very thankful to Leonardo, the landlord, for his kindness and great sense of hospitality. Guests are required to arrive after 2 pm, but Leonardo kindly accommodated our need to move into the flat in the morning and came personally to welcome us. He took the time to show us around, and gave us tips and maps about places of interest to visit. We felt a genuine, human interest for us to make the most of our visit, not some kind of tourist-agent run down of things. Cold water, juice, milk and a delicious melon in the fridge was another expression of Leonardo wanting to make us feel welcome in his beautiful flat.
Granada was an unforgettable week-end for us, and living in this superb flat contributed to the very good time we had. We can only recommend, and recommend warmly, Casa del Arco.
Easy access from the old road to Murcia, at the junction with Fajalauza Street (where two traditional ceramic factories of the same name). From there up, the first street on the right is Stone Cross Street.
It is accessible by car to the door of the house and can also be reached by bus (lines 7 and F).
The Albaicin has an intense social and cultural life. Routes are possible monuments (churches, monasteries, museums, exhibitions), walks on the ramparts, visit the caves of Sacromonte, attend flamenco shows or sample the local cuisine (tapas).
The district is connected by public transport (bus, taxi) to any point of the city's historic center, the main monuments (Cathedral, Capilla Real, Granada Charterhouse, Science Park, Museums, Alhambra and Generalife) bus station or railway, airport, etc..
If you visit the province of Granada, from the house by car or bus is about 45 minutes from the ski resort of Sierra Nevada, 50 minutes from the beach and 60 minutes from the Alpujarra.
We recommend booking tickets in advance to visit the Alhambra.
